Food is amazing and portions are large for the price. Service is great and very clean and you feel the Jamaican vibe. So far I've only had the jerk chicken, oxtail, carrot cake and rum cake. Came in on my lunch break, and let me just say hospitality for me is everything, and that is met here! I walked in and the owner immediately broke the ice saying I walked in so serious, which I did. I simply said I know I was thinking of a million and one things. I asked what was popular and he recommended a few items I opted for the jerk chicken with rice. I also got a passion fruit drink that was there. I took my order to go. Most of the time I waited he conversed with me which was really hospitable. The food was delicious, I will be back. The prices were great I ordered a mini for $5.95.That was just enough food for me. I will say do not judge a place or anyone for that matter by outward appearances, the exterior does look a tad run down, however, food was great, service was awesome and that goes to show. I was looking for some food cuisine variety in this area, and Caribbean 450 was the answer. Caribbean 450 is available for pick-up and dining outside. There is no indoor seating, which is quite disappointing because the first time I was here it was raining. You can also call in advance to place an order. Parking lot is limited but since Caribbean 450 is more of a pick-up, to-go kind of place, the parking spaces are readily available. FOOD: Jerk Chicken (4/5): Served with rice and peas and mixed veggies. I am a big fan of this! There were about 3 medium size chicken pieces with a leg. Chicken was cooked just right and was not dry whatsoever. Ask for some gravy on your rice, for it brings out the flavor and tastes much better. Mixed veggies were pretty good but tasted slightly sweet to me. Recommend this dish if you're not sure what to order here. You have the option between regular rice or rice and peas, mixed veggies or cabbage. Seafood Trio with Tilapia (3/5): Served with crab rice, crab cake, and 3 hush-puppies. This was just decent for me. Basically, fried tilapia with other fried food items in this plate. Once again, the fish was not overcooked - just right. Crab cake was kind of bready due to the flakes, but it was a good size - about the size of a palm. Hush puppies were okay.. I mostly gave those to my friend. Crab rice was tasty with the seasoning throughout, which tasted better with a little hot sauce. Brownstew Chicken (4/5): Served with rice and peas and cabbage. The five chicken pieces literally fell right off! Flavors were all there. There were two pieces of plantain included as well. I devoured this because I was so hungry. Cabbage was okay, I'd pick the mixed veggies next time. I also recommend this if you're not sure what to order. You have the option between regular rice or rice and peas, mixed veggies or cabbage. Great variety served at Caribbean 450 for your craving of traditional Caribbean food, fried seafood, burgers, chicken wings, dessert, and more. Overall, fantastic portions at a great price. The 450 seems to be a really good Caribbean restaurant! I say seems to be good before I have only visited once for take out. I was hurrying thru town and needed something different and quick. About 15 miles out of town I called and asked if I could pick up an order in 15 minutes. The guy that took my order said, "sure it will be ready!" As promised Eddie the owner had my order of curry goat, rice and peas, sautéed cabbage, plantains and a big hunk of coco bread bagged and ready when I walked in the door. When we arrived home twenty minutes later my wife and I enjoyed warm and excellent Caribbean food. The order cost us less than $12.00 and was plenty for two. To be honest, my wife had refused to stop at the 450 a few times in the past. After savoring the really tasty meal she commented, "let's go back there next week." The curry goat was really tasty, the plantains were golden and sweet and the rice and peas and cabbage were excellent. Service was good but the food was terrible. The atmosphere was also bad it looked rundown on the outside and the inside was empty. The food is way overpriced and not $4.50 at all only 2 or three of the items are $4.50 and they are the mini size. Overall a bad experience and I don't recommend this at all. read more

This place is absolutely great! The vegetables are very tasty and awesomely seasoned. The rice with the gravy is to die for. The jerk chicken is super! Everything has the Caribbean seasoning and nothing was dry. OMG this food makes me want to keep eating but I am full already. Will come back for sure!! You do not want to drive by this area and miss out on this jewel of Caribbean food. Great variety in prices. The music they play is absolutely awesome. First time and I will be back. If you love someone tell them to try this place. You will not regret it. Place is clean and nicely set up. You can sit in or take out. This place is a must for a good plate of Caribbean Food. We stopped by this establishment for the first time tonight. We tried the jerk chicken, the curry goat, and the oxtail. All of it was absolutely delicious! If you are, by any measure, sensitive to exorbitant salt intake or trying to be mindful of the amount of salt in your diet, then I truly don't recommend this place. I ordered the jerk pork with dirty rice and mixed steamed veggies. My favorite part of my dish was the veggies, followed, by a wide distance, the rice. That should state the short of my experience. Yes, it's flavorful and had a small kick of being as we'd say in Spanish caliente, but it was too salty to enjoy the spice blend of their jerk. This is a mom and pop place and maybe I'll try again, a different dish obviously because I want to support small businesses. read more

We stumbled in here on our drive home. The last reviewer said to try everything, so we did just that! My favorite dishes were the Oxtail and brown stewed chicken. They even have fresh juices, carrot juice was delicious! Eddy greeted us with a smile and great recommendations. I didn't eat the rum cake til I got home but I was wishing I had ordered more of it! Oh holy moly! This little local place is so amazing I wish I had 3 stomachs to fill. Friendly people and intensely flavored food. The jerk chicken was smoky and fell off the bone, the catfish was crispy but not dry or gummy, and the brown stew was meaty and tender. Even the rice and cabbage were packed with flavor. The seasoned crinkle cut fries were excellent. Wings were good size and tasty. My other son ordered the jerk burger. It was plenty big for lunch and tasty as well. He also loved his french fries. Dis be da place mon! Having spent time down island and having had jerk chicken, pork and curry goat, this place is it! I got meals for four of my friends that live in the area and they all thought it was great. We got the Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Goat and Curry Chicken and there was nothing left for the dog to steal. Everyone liked it and promised to come back. If you like spicy, this is a good place to find it. I don't know what authentic Caribbean food tastes like, but I'm going to guess this is close. I had the catfish trio which included a nice sized fried (not spicy) catfish filet, a large (spicy) crab cake, and some spicy "crab" rice. I'd never heard of this before, but it was really tasty. My husband, who doesn't care for spicy food, had a shrimp plate with 12 fried shrimp and some fries which he really liked. Spicy ginger beer which I really like, and Jamaican creme soda for Roger, were a nice change of pace for beverages. Both meals cost less than $20 which was a reasonable price for what we got. They had goat, but I don't have the nerve to try that. I think they do more carryout than restaurant seating, but they have plenty of seats. Give it a try. read more
