Weekend trip to the beach, Sunday morning we discovered antifreeze leaking from the Jeep. Not being…read morefrom the area and it was a Sunday was stressful. Drove to local automotive stores which was told it could possibly be a blowhead gasket or water pump. Firestone wouldn't even come outside to look, guy just said "oh leave it and rent a car" "don't drive it" so after two different Firestones we ended up at NTB ‍ $800 to replace a water pump and main drive belt. Yeah right! Made our way to NAPA and picked up the water pump. Guy in store said he would charge me $300 smh. I know it's a Sunday and requires taking things apart but for $300-800 I'll do it myself. Well to Make a long story short.....we found Mitch! What a blessing. Even though he was booked up...he said bring the Jeep and he would see what he could do! No promises. He's Awesome got the water pump put on and he suggested a belt. In my opinion good honest person who has years of experience working in cars! He even texted us to make sure we got home safe (3 1/2) drive. We really appreciate him and we'll definitely keep in contact. No where near the cost of what the others charged. Give him a shout if you need any car repair!

It ended up costing us an additional $189. He has a terrible temper and is rude. He acts like a nice person but he's dishonest and may ruin your car. We're sorry we let him work on our car.

David Harrell and his team at Suffolk Automotive Services are absolutely amazing…read more This is the only trustworthy car mechanic I would recommend in the area They are very efficient and knowledgeable they give it to you straight and will not charge you for unnecessary things or imaginary things like blinker fluid This is one shop that does not care if you are male or female they will treat you with the same Dignity and respect no matter your pronoun They offer warranties and very reasonable prices If for some reason they can not get the job done they will find you the right references I've been coming here the last few years and my company now uses their services for our fleet repairs also The receptionist Megan is amazing and super quick to help you with a smile All the techs here are polite and hardworking This is the best mechanic in Suffolk and in my opinion in the 757

Brought my car in because I could see oil around the valve cover gasket. Asked them to look it over…read moreand verify. They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
