I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. I was referred here for PT for my rotator cuff by my orthopedic doctor. I am a nurse and my condition was affecting my ability to work and my quality of life. I didn't expect it to help much because I had tried physical therapy at another office in the past and it did not help. After several visits with Dequan and Zita working on strengthening, I noticed an improvement in my range of motion. Now many visits in, the pain has significantly decreased also and I'm able to do most activities I was unable to do before without debilitating pain. They quickly identify the problems and know exactly what to do to make the patient feel better. After just three sessions I'm able to play catch with my grandson and put a little zip on it. The facility is fully equipped and by experience I can say their therapists are experienced professionals and well trained. I've been to 2 therapy places in Beverly Hills and PTS is far and away the best, simply no comparison. Jesal is an exceptional physical therapist. I went for a TMJ problem that had restricted jaw opening and caused a fair amount of pain. She has a deep understanding of how different muscle groups are connected, what needs to be stretched and strengthened and how you can make changes to successfully resolve a problem. The atmosphere is upbeat for a PT center which is a bonus. I had an accident in 2017 where I ruptured my lumbar disc and broke my wrist. Additionally, I had GBS in 2006, recuperated in a year but had CNS damage, muscle atrophy and hand tremors. Jeff made 4 different assessments based on my improvement. The initial evaluation gave me confidence that I would receive the treatment I needed. After that, while the therapists were good they did not focus on my most urgent problem. I asked if they could do the electrical stimulation as I had muscle atrophy. The small plastic unit kept malfunctioning and producing severe spasm in my calf muscle, very painfully forcing my foot to be contorted and forcing it involuntarily downward. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The PT was sympathetic and said that should not happen. She wanted to correct it but each time the same thing happened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was too painful and so wrong, I said no more. [[HIGHLIGHT]](the so called office manager, claimed it was working correctly)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was no sanitation. Couldn't even make an appt here the front desk is so disorganized. I called on a Thursday to make an occupational therapy appt and was told the OT only comes in Fri and Wed so she would have to call me back to give me availability. Weird that you need the therapist *there* to know their availability, but OK. Fri passes, no call. The *next Wednesday* passes, no call. Finally I call Thursday to see what's up. I ask about a OT appt. I am immediately put on hold for over 5min. Then they come back and ask what my insurance is, and if I have a referral. "Yes." "Can you fax it to us?" "No, I dont have a fax, is there an email I can send it to?" "Yes. 310, 755--" "No, I'm sorry I need an email address, I don't have a fax." "Oh OK. 310-755-5051." "..." "Hello?" "Did you hear what I said?" "Yes." "Do you have an email address?" "Oh yes. Can you hold?" I'm on hold for another 8 minutes before I hang up. Wasted a week waiting for these people. I'm generously giving them 2 stars because maybe their therapists are fantastic. I'll never know because their reception is a poop show. read more

They have guided me thru two knee replacements and lumbar spinal fusion surgery, and I trust them completely to help me fully recover and move on to the rest of my life. This PT group is very unorganized. If you are expecting to see the same therapist at each visit you are out of luck. I really think that Cedars should reevaluate their contract with this group. The standard of care being provided is not up to par!! There is always some issue and confusion at the front desk. You walk in, and the clerk does not even acknowledge you!!! Poor customer service!! People come in and think that they have an appointment scheduled, and are told that nothing is scheduled. As a health care professional I really feel sorry for them because many are elderly and disabled. If you are a Cedars patient , I strongly recommend that you request to be seen for physical therapy at the 444 San Vicente building. I've had physical therapy at this site. I took my mom here for 9 months, twice a week. In the beginning we had a therapist June, who ending up leaving, but was really good at her job and my mom gained a lot from it. We switched to someone else and then switched again to another therapist who was decent, but he didn't want to challenge her and she stopped making progress. The major 2 star loss is for Gloria at the reception desk. She was outright rude. She would never say hello, would ignore you if you tried to speak to her and was generally unpleasant. We had been coming for 9 months and she never acknowledged the fact that she knew who we were. Weird ego trip she was on. We complained to multiple therapists and they agreed that other patients have complained about her and they know she's a problem. They said to speak to the manager, but that she had worked there for years so it seemed like a lost cause. The other woman, Sophia, at the front was amazing. She greeted you and was very friendly. I hated checking in with Gloria and would try and wait for Sophia. Another standout was Sandy. Great therapist. Offices should put more thought into who works the front desk and acts as the face of their company. It really sets the tone and after awhile people don't want to dread calling to make an appointment or check in with someone who has an attitude. read more

To be clear, I did not end up going to Physical Therapy Specialists. This review is only based on my experience with the person who answered the phone. I called in the afternoon to inquire about physical therapy sessions. The woman who answered did not sound like she wanted to be answering the phones. Or maybe that's just her tone? Nevertheless, I had several questions for her. She answered them but with some agitation to her voice. She just sounded annoyed at me. By the end of the call, I knew I did not want to deal with someone that has such a sour attitude. Sucks that I can't review the actual PT services. I'm sure they're great. I ended up calling 3 other PT facilities and will be going to one of them. By the way, all 3 calls were very pleasant. read more

I will never step foot in this place again. I have had such a terrible experience with the receptionist. This is health care, not a beauty salon. Take your petty rude ass somewhere else. You do not belong in this setting. I've been seen once by a physical therapist here and trying to schedule that appointment was insane. I have a written prescription specifically for their location even though I have a PPO and the girl that answers the phone keeps trying to push all of her work on to me. I don't understand why since I'm already in the system I have to call to schedule my appointments. My prescription was written for February but it's good for 90 days and I went and March which is only 30 days so technically there's 60 more days for that prescription and she told me that she was scheduling me as a courtesy. Bitch please. If it's a courtesy then why am I paying for it? This isn't my first time ever going to physical therapy so I know the difference between a great place with a great staff and a place with an extremely lazy and rude staff which is what they are here. So I have a new prescription already because they said they wouldn't schedule me unless I had a new one. I'm not posting pictures of my prescriptions for privacy reasons but no one bothered to follow up with me even though my doctor's office reached out to them as well. I called today and let them know that I was in the system. I was trying to be optimistic because sometimes people have a bad day but I was met with the same terrible customer service again and I refuse to be treated like shit by this idiot. They get one star because zero isn't an option. If other people are being treated this way I urge you to speak up. This is a nice facility and with a better front desk staff this could be a 5-star review. I'm just grateful that I have other options. I will never come here again. read more

ahhhh....butt massages Okay sickos, before those dirty thoughts starting rolling, read the back story... I started having severe pain in my right leg in October which would at times caused me to limp and lose my footing on the right side from pain. Using my expert medical diagnosing abilities (aka WebMd), I determined that I had Sciatica. ugh. I immediately felt like a gimp old man (hold commentary). I couldn't run, which I knew was the root of the problem to begin with, and I was afraid to lift at the gym cause I didn't want to strain my back. After a visit to my doctor, who confirmed my self-diagnosis, and sent me on my way with some meds and an Rx for Physical Therapy. Enter Physical Therapy Specialists. I've been going for six weeks and they're great. I have a Physical Therapist and a Massage Therapist that I see each time. My Ukrainian massage therapist is the best. Though I sometimes squeal like a little girl from the pain of the massage (don't laugh you would too), of which she laughs at me, it feels good after and does the trick. So about the butt massage. Since the Sciatic nerve runs down from the back to the leg, the butt is a key area for pain. So it literally is a pain in the Ass!!! muahahhaha. read more

Everyone in this facility is top-notch, through and through. This was the third Physical Therapy facility I went to. The first two re-injured me I needed to find a facility with therapists capable of "thinking outside the box" and now I have. Alex has been my physical therapist. He is smart ,experienced, and a practical thinker, and it is evident he is up to date on the most current trends in therapy. His assisting therapists have EACH been EXCELLENT. She was amazing as well as Gigi, John and the rest of the crew. They work together so well and with their help I am gaining all the time. After I delivered my first baby, I developed terrible neck and back pain which became almost excruciating if I had to lift my baby from her bassinet or in or out of the car seat. I had gone to physical therapy specialists in the past for a rotator cuff injury and had excellent result. Prior to getting pregnant I was able to do any kind of exercise or activity that I wanted to do. I scheduled an appointment to go back to physical therapy specialists in hopes that they could get me out of pain and I could start exercising again and lose my baby weight.( I gained almost 45 lbs) It was while I was at physical therapy that the pediatric therapist, Stephanie, noticed that my baby was looking only one direction. She kindly explained to me that it was possible my baby had a tight muscle and a condition called "torticollis". She showed me that my baby was starting to get a flattening on the side of her head that she was favoring. She explained to me that I should have her pediatrician look at her. I told her that we had just been to the pediatrician's office and the doctor didn't notice anything however she insisted that I should go back again. Sure enough, the doctor diagnosed my baby with torticollis and plagiocephaly( area of flattening of the head). He said that often a helmet is needed to correct the plagiocephaly, however since we were "catching it so soon" that perhaps the helmet may be avoided. Within 2 weeks of therapy with Stephanie, my baby had full motion of her neck and was no longer favoring looking to one side. Stephanie made the exercises easy for me to do and modified them so they wouldn't hurt my neck and back. Within six weeks of positioning my baby's head the way she showed me, my baby's head was no longer flat on one side. I am very grateful because without her noticing my baby and without her care, I'm sure my baby would have had to have a helmet. I am also happy to report that physical therapy specialists also got rid of my neck and back pain. I am able to exercise and have lost almost 35 of my 45 lbs of baby weight. I was referred to this clinic 5 weeks after knee replacement surgery. It has been a great experience for me. I found the clinic extremely well-organized and well-managed. The owner Stephanie did a thorough assessment during the initial visit and set up an excellent therapy plan. All the therapists including Stephanie herself, Gi Gi, Ninia, and Sandra who have been involved in my treatment are highly skilled and extremely kind and nurturing. Everyone knows the treatment plan and yet is quite responsive to changes in my condition. In addition to my left knee I also had a pretty severe lower back problem on the same side and they went right to work on that and quickly brought it under control. They work on me during the entire appointment time as opposed to other clinics that waste a lot of time with ice packs and self exercise. The place seems to have a very collaborative culture and all the therapists and front desk folks seem to be quite happy working there. After only 5 sessions my pain and swelling is down by more than 80%. Another pleasant surprise: They are always on time. I have never had to sit there and wait for my appointment to start! Over the past few years I have gone to other physical therapy clinics for shoulder, neck and back problems. This clinic is by far the best. I am truly impressed! read more

I'm so glad my doctor recommended Physical Therapy Specialists for some terrible lower back pain, I was having. My physical therapist was June, who was quickly able to locate where the muscle spasms and nerve pain were coming from. She worked very hard on the problem area, with massaging and pressure techniques. She also assigned me exercises to do at home. The pain lessened and then subsided, over about two months. June was both conscientious and caring. I stopped going about three months ago. I continue to do the exercises she taught me and I continue to not have pain! read more

All therapists I've seen are good, but negatives outweigh all good things I could say: Negatives: 1) sessions only 30 minutes. Not another pt in town has this. I came here for frozen shoulder- a condition that I read could take years to heal from. In three month working with Stephanie and Sherry I am 95% better- it's like a miracle. June is the best person for post mastectomy recovery PT. Highly Highly recommended. I started therapy with June when I had about 70% flexibility back after mastectomy surgery and did not know what to do to make it better, desperately needed help and feeling very weak. After each therapy session with June, my flexibility and strength improved greatly as well as scar tissue areas soften up so much. Also, the effective care with her brings so much hope and positive energy during recovery. She is always very professional, knowledgeable, and really listens to my concerns. She is so knowledgeable about post mastectomy recovery care, so all my concerns/goals for each session were resolved after each visit, almost unreal how fast and amazing my recovery has been since I met June. I got 100% flexibility back (even more flexible than before surgery) as well as so much strength and senses back. I have to give this place 5 stars and I'm giving it for two reasons: Alex Reyes and Lisa Mulrennan. Alex breaks you down by jamming elbows, thumbs and everything else into all your most sensitive areas. I'm not going to lie - it hurts. A lot. But he also does something magical because I have gone to him hunched over, hobbling, once even in a wheelchair, and all it took was 15 minutes with him for me to feel like me again. Then there's Lisa. Lisa is a Pilates instructor but she is soooo much more. She's petite but don't let her small stature fool you! I've never met anyone with such a hawk eye for detail (which is integral for pilates since the movements are so minor). She makes the most imperceptible of adjustments and voila! Suddenly your abs engage! Usually I find people who are as cute as she is and good as she is at her job annoying, but she manages to top me there as well since she is the perfect mix of funny and caring with just a dash of hippy thrown in. read more
