For anyone in search of a catering company for any event please do NOT hire Comfort Eats & More…read morebased out of Louisville. They catered our wedding in October and it was AWFUL. The quality was atrocious, meat was overcooked and barely edible and they outright ignored food allergies they specifically agreed to take precautions for (and it was even in our contract). I have waited to share my experience because I was trying to find a resolution with the business but they have ignored all attempts to make this right and even ignored the Better Business Bureau's attempts to mediate. For anyone interested, I will post more details below: We hired Kendell Sheppard, chef and owner of Comfort Eats & More to cater our wedding on 10/16/2023. We paid for a serviced buffet for 75 people. We also had a clause added to our contract stating he would prepare a separate meal without garlic for my (the bride's) father with a garlic allergy and a separate meal for our groomsman who has several deadly allergies. For our groomsman we specifically added the allergens he was allergic to and asked that the meal be prepared in a separate space with separate utensils to ensure no cross-contamination. We not only spoke with Kendell about these concerns at our initial food tasting but also ensured it was added to the contract. Kendell assured us verbally, through the contact, and via email that he would take full precautions. However, on our wedding day, Kendell not only neglected to have a separate plate at all for our groomsman but actually served him food blatantly containing one of the specified allergens (a salad with a bourbon glaze- when we specified his wheat allergy) and he only realized his mistake when our groomsman pressed him for details on the contents of the salad before agreeing to eat it. Kendell, by his own admission, said it would be safer for our groomsman to not eat the food because he had not taken precautions and could not ensure it was safe for him to eat despite our contractual agreement. Additionally, he provided my father with only a partial meal prepared without garlic leaving out half of the options from the buffet. Lastly, the meat options that were served to the rest of the guests were horribly overcooked, tough, and dry. Which led most of our guest unable to eat the meal we paid for them to have. Kendell not only severely endangered the life of our groomsman by ignoring our contractual agreement but also underserved my father at his daughter's wedding and served poor quality food to the rest of the guests. We emailed Kendell following our wedding on 10/21/23 to express our concerns and the breach of contract and that we expected a refund. When we had not received a response we sent a follow up email on 10/27/23 stating that if we did not receive a reply by 11/01/23 that we would be submitting a formal complaint to the BBB. Kendell responded that day stating the maximum refund he could offer was a "15% managers compensation refund" and if this was not satisfactory that we could "explore mediation as an option" and to let him know our thoughts. We responded on 11/01/23 stating that we felt the disregard for safety in addition to the poor quality of the service delivered was worth more than the 15% he offered and would accept a minimum of a 50% refund. Kendell has not responded as of 11/15/23 and ignored all attempts by the Better Business Bureau to mediate this situation. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Beer and some drinks are also discounted. Service, again, was excellent, with a cheerful and helpful server. My wife ordered chips and queso, a rather small serving of both, but I did think the jalapeños in the queso was a nice touch. Then, a bowl of gumbo that was a grand slam. Rich flavor packed with gumbo goodies. And to top things off, she went with shrimp tacos which you requested grilled rather than fried. She loved them. The only glitch was the server said the tacos come with a side of waffle fries, but were plated with more chips and queso. As we already ordered that item, she immediately offered to bring out the waffle fries. I went with a side salad, essentially a spring mix of greens with cheese strips. Nothing special. Then I ordered lemon pepper wings off the app menu. Served hot, well seasoned, but slightly dried out. The wings were a bit better (moist) in my previous visit. My only "ding" is some trivia type game they play on Friday evenings with some guy on a mic blasting "name that tune" questions. Distracting. And if you read the room, virtually no one was playing, let alone interested. Just let us enjoy our food and fixate on any of the multiple screens showing sports programming. After all, Walk-On's is a sports bistro.

Ordered a tall cold beer to celebrate a long day of hard yard work. He had a seafood poboy and waffle fries. I ordered a blackjack chicken and sweet potato fries. Can't remember my servers name but she was probably one of the best servers I've ever had! She really took the time to explain the menu, talking about how fresh the ingredients were and how everything is made in house. They do change up the menu, like tacos served only on Tuesday's. We shared the Thai chicken skewers to start. Very good! Our server really talked up the pastas since the sauces are excellent. So we had to order the Alfredo with shrimp and shared the pepperoni pizza with pesto on the side. The pizza wasn't greasy at all and you could tell the pepp and the pesto were made fresh. Even the Alfredo had such a nice creamy flavor. The menu didn't appeal to me when I first tried it years ago but after having someone explain it, I really appreciated the effort they put into their food. Even accommodating for gluten free and vegan diets. Really really happy I came back to try them again. I'm excited to come back!

Mikayla was our server and even though she was busy and had some needy tables she was awesome and very attentive. We started with drinks ... the espresso martinis were had .... as well a a few apps. The baked brie (bourbon maple syrup, red wine, pear jam, Crostini) was absolutely phenomenal. I mean hands down one of the best bries I've had to date. We also got the calamari and it was good but there was nothing special about it. They have a wood burning pizza oven, which the best way to cook a pizza, so I had to ordered a pizza and got the pepperoni and it was absolutely delicious! Next time I wasn't to try the breakfast pizza! But I also want to go back for dinner and try some other menu items that I see featured on insta.

Rich, flavorful, and completely addictive, it disappeared fast. The warm butter rolls arrived alongside pesto butter, but I stayed loyal to regular butter. No regrets. A quick shoutout to our server, Devante. He was new, but you'd never know it. Friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu, he handled everything like a seasoned pro and made the experience even better. For dinner, I ordered the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. While the chicken was excellent, the Brussels sprouts stole the show--perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and easily the standout item on my plate. Dad went with the Mediterranean chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The chicken was a winner, though the broccoli was a bit tougher than expected. Mom chose the voodoo shrimp and fries, but honestly, her true love affair of the evening was with the lobster dip. I'm fairly certain she consumed enough of it for the entire table. By this point, we were all happily full. But there was still one reason to save room. The strawberry shortcake. Light, sweet, and absolutely unforgettable, it was the highlight of the entire meal. The kind of dessert that quiets the table and leaves everyone smiling after the last bite. That alone is reason enough to come back.
