I was told they smoke with hickory wood. You can find a great assortment of smoked chicken, links and pork along with sandwiches made to order as well. The meat market has a great display of meat for purchase as well. Loved the local family business and that my food was wrapped in paper. Felt like I was back in a real butcher shop. There meat market was clean and had a small table to eat at. Don't second guess the shop based on the size of the establishment the ribs and service are magnificent. We drink alcohol-removed wine and we were glad that the wine shop was willing to order alcohol-removed wine for us since they do not stock it. Each month we order cases of wine from Jill in the wine shop. When we picked it up our wine each month, Jill would have to get a manager to approve the 15% case discount since the wine we ordered was not in the system. After doing this for three months, Jill informed me that Corporate Headquarters had decided that alcohol-free wine was a grocery item and was not eligible for the wine case discount. This decision stuck me as odd since the product is wine, it is produced and sold by Sutter home and although it is alcohol-free, is age-restricted for purchase. I feel that this arbitrary decision by Corporate staff is discriminatory to those of us who choose to consume wine without alcohol by only giving a discount to wine with alcoholic content. The decision seems quite contrary to the stated corporate goal of providing for the needs of the customer and the community.
