We wanted to check out some antique or vintage shops/malls in Mount Dora area a little after the holidays. This was one of the locations that came up - the antique center does have stalls open during the week aside from the outdoor market they have outside the facility on Sundays. Similar to some of the other antique malls or multi-stall stores I've been to, there are different stalls that are rented out by different vendors that sell different items. Depending on when you visit, some may not be open for business and will be roped off or have signs saying when they will be open next. We did go when some folks were still off for the holidays, which resulted in a handful of closed stalls, but a good number of the locations were open to wander and shop. Some of the stalls sell vintage and retro items and others like the large toy/doll stall on one of the ends sell deadstock collectible items. I think there's something there for everyone - I saw booths for books, dolls, collectibles, old wartime items, jewelry, and home decor. Pricing does vary for each of the booths and items. Some may run some deals and they will have signs to call out what is on sale in their booth. I did not purchase anything, but I believe if the owner of the booth is not present, you can go to one of the desks throughout the center and ask the folks working there to assist with purchases or for unlocking locked cabinets to see something. There was a decent amount of parking when I went, but if you do go during the outside market on Sundays, I suspect you'd want to go early to get a spot. read more

I do enjoy doing a walk about once a month or so. Always something interesting to see and I do find an item here and there I will pick up. Large variety of antiques or repops for everyone. Although I don't purchase if they don't haggle a bit. I understand they are trying to make money but the haggling is part of the experience. Also, just take their 10% off make them call the sellers and see I purchased two lamps that they wanted $495 for two I got for 200 when they said that they would never accept anything less than the 10% / 20% discount. Again I do enjoy the walkabout that antique smell is definitely there and most of the people are very friendly and interesting to talk to. read more

My wife and I have visited this location on two separate occasions. First in 2022, when we arrived in Florida to find our forever home, which was disappointing to say the least. We visited on a Saturday and they have a large parking area, but quite a few booths were chained off, a lot of antiques were dirty and the flea market was a junk market. This time, we decided to pass on the flea market and just visit the antique building. They still had about 4 booths chained off; however, the items were cleaner this time and the operators were very cordial. They had a handful of items we considered purchasing, but just went with an Antique Lights lamp and shade on isle D. They also have a food area for lunch time. I recommend you stop by. read more

This review is solely for the antique mall and not the flea market area. (it's on the other side) I've been on the hunt for a small, antique, vanity for some time now, and while I saw many here; all colors and styles, they all were just too big, but anyway, you can find some really beautiful items here. Likewise, you can find junk priced out crazy expensive. I'm talking like stuff you'd throw in the trash and wouldn't think to put a price tag on but.. I guess there's a customer out there somewhere for these things. You'll find all kinds of price ranges, just have to take the time to find the treasures. Also saw a lot of haggling going on so, don't be shy. Coming here overall was an enjoyable experience. I didn't buy anything, but I saw so many beautiful things and got to talk to some of the vendors which to my delight were friendly and not pushy at all. Would definitely visit again. read more

Happy to see lots of vendors and some of the same booths I used to be a frequent flier of made it through the covid slump and are still in business. I did notice that prices were much higher than my prior visit and you really had to use your "gift of gab" to bargain down some prices. No items are ever priced as final sale in my book. Lol. Every booth we visited had friendly workers who were more than happy to answer questions and help direct you through the rummaging process to find that one perfect thing! A regular visit to Renninger's gives you plenty to see and sow d your money on, they literally have anything at this market including a junk in the trunk style outdoor area, it's all free to park and get in. We were there for the big vintage show they have occasionally and it's wasn't worth the entry fee to be honest, lots and lots of junk and vendors charging ridiculous prices. I say save your money and just go to the regular flea markets, you'll find lots of bargains and even gran a bite to eat. read more

It's a cool place to spend part of the day in . There's an antique side - air conditioned building with a bunch of antiques and on the other side, there's a flea market. There you can find fruits & vegetables, clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, plants, yummy foods and drinks. Also for all of you like my hubby, there is beer. I even found alcapurrias (puerto Rican fritter filled with ground beef) there. You find great merchandise with pretty good prices and the vendors are very nice and friendly. I visited Renninger's about 15 years ago and it was a huge market with many vendors. When I visited this time, there were not many booths, and it was more of a flea-market vibe than an antique center. The last time we went there were also a lot people selling hand-crafted decor items, however this time there were only a few...maybe COVID related, but I went with very high expectations and left feeling disappointed. Renninger's Antique Center - Outdoor flea markrt - Antiques Near Me - Mount Dora, Florida

This place is amazing! You can easily spend the whole day here. Heck you could spend weeks here exploring. Renninger's is located on U.S. Highway 441 on the east side of Mount Dora. The market is in 117 acres of hilly land with many trees dripping in Spanish moss. There are two separate markets, Renninger's Antique Center on the south side and Renninger's Flea Market on the north side. Admission to both markets is free. Renningers also operates two markets in Pennsylvania, Adamstown and Kutztown and another market in Florida in Melbourne. Renninger's Antique Center is in a 40,000 square foot air conditioned building lined with 180 vendor booths. Not every booth is staffed but you can call floor the floor manager to help you. The antiques offered are staggering: home goods, books, jewelry, furniture, art, instruments, and collectibles. There is consignment in glass cases in this building. Surrounding the antique center is a row of sheds and cottages called the Street of Shops. They are small specialized dealers and the cottages are landscaped and decorated. One cottage I visited carried the most amazing selection of tea cups and tea pots. Renninger's Flea and Farmers Market is located on the north side of the property on top of a hill. Here you can find prepared food, produce, new items, plants, jewelry, and even more antiques. There are 100 dealer spaces and 400 more spaces outside. Reningers hosts many special events throughout the year which include a holiday market, antiques and collector's extravaganza, guitars and cars, fall in the field, and the Florida military collector show. Three times a year they hold an extravaganza where sellers come from all over the country to peddle their collections. They take place in January, February, and March over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Admission of $10 is charged for this event. I did not budget enough time for this place because you can easily spend a full day. Although I am not a staunch antique collector I had so much fun exploring all of the booths and shops. I'm giving the Extravaganza four stars for sheer size and entertainment value. We were there 4 hours and not sure we saw even half of the vendors. First let me say I'm not a collector of anything in particular. Saying that, there is so much stuff for sale it can be overwhelming. There are lots of reproductions, vintage and antique items. It's an interesting place to spend a day or two shopping. I'm really surprised we didn't find any thing. The Extravaganza vendors are outside and the property is on a hill. Be aware if you have mobility issues. The ground is sandy in many places and the grassy areas uneven. You'll eventually want to eat or drink something. I would recommend finding the big food court area at the bottom of the hill for the best selection of food. DOG FRIENDLY - we understood you could only bring your dog if you carried it or had it in a stroller but there were tons of dogs there of all sizes being walked on leashes. Also, bring a bag or cart if you plan on purchasing items so that you can easily get them back to your car. read more

Three stars. Actually one for the flea market side of Renninger's and five for the antique center. What a marked difference! The flea market has junk and many booths festooned with ridiculous political banners. Aside from my distaste in the latter, there was no vendor that had anything that even remotely piqued my interest. (And I rarely walk away from flea markets and thrift stores empty handed.) Rennigers is one of best places in Florida to go for antique shopping. There are so many booths to shop at. A couple of times a year they host an antique extravaganza. This weekend was one of them. Vendors from all over the USA come and set up to sell antiques. You can spend many hours just browsing. There is plenty of parking. Price of admission to the extravaganza is fair. There is no payment for parking during the event. If you are looking for that hidden "gem" you will probably find it here. Lots of nostalgic things from different eras. There were also many food vendors to choose from as well. I definitely recommend going to this event! Even if you don't make the event, it's worth the trip to visit the antique market. read more

We have only been to Renninger's for the Antiques Extravaganza. But we have been driving down from northern Alachua County (120 miles each way) for nearly twenty years. We never miss the November show (except for 2019 due to rain). As a matter of fact, we both schedule a week of vacation to tie the Extravaganza in with Thanksgiving. We occasionally attend the Jan and Feb events, also. It is virtually impossible to see everything in one day. Something for everyone. Items sell from fifty cents to thousands of dollars and virtually everything in between. We never fail to come home with treasures. It is basically a huge flea market set up outdoors on a rather steep hillside. There are literally hundreds of tables and booths. Wear old clothes and expect to get your shoes dirty in the sandy soil. The weather in Florida can run the gamut; warm and sunny to chilly and wet. But it is always fun. Lots of food vendors, too. Or do as we do and bring lawn chairs and a cooler. Have a picnic lunch at your vehicle in the shade of a big oak. Lots of nice people, too. And dogs are permitted. Many people bring their furry friends. Bring money and have FUN! read more

This place is heaven for antique collectors! I had been hearing about the antique scene in Mount Dora for years. We finally made a family trip to check it out. It is amazing. A building with aisles and aisles of antique booths, then outdoor booths. We got there around 3 and did not have time to visit everything. If you happen to be shopping for Coca-Cola coolers like we have been, they have several! However, even on a Saturday, some of the booth owners were not present for us to buy from. Haggling is acceptable here as well which worked for my favor as I was able to obtain my Thai lady for a more reasonable price. We will definitely be back! read more

Came here because of Cannafest. I'd never been to this location so I ws surprised by the size of the location. I was in the wrong lane, so I ended up parking up on a hill and walking through the flea market down to the space they were having the fest, which gave me an appreciation of the size of this property. ITS HUGE. The fest it's self was kind of meh, but the flea market, i honestly wish I'd spent more time exploring. This place looks incredibly cool, there is so much stuff to explore and root through. Could not have been more disappointed in this place. There was one booth owner present on Black Friday we saw and he was lovely. We spent $200 there. The rest of the antiques were average. The "customer service" was non existent - one older man working for Renninger's snapped at my 80 year old mother to "just wait he was helping someone!" and all she did was wonder aloud if anyone was able to help. She never saw him around the corner. We will not be back. When we stopped to explain, he and another man actually laughed. So one booth owner missed out on a $65 sale of silver teaspoons. read more

I love this place! There's so much to do and see. I took at least 2-3 hours just walking the whole thing. When I first arrived, I noticed there were two areas to go to, one on the left and one on the right. The one on the left feels more like a flea market, while the building on the right was more of the antique center. They also have some good food. I had this yummy dessert from a bakery in the farmers market area. I also saw some amazing deals and definitely saw antiques. Great spot to visit and just spend your day in. read more

I love this place. From the many & varied offerings to the sales floor help, the outdoor shops & to the yearly hilltop antique sale, if you love looking @ vintage finds, you can't go wrong here. Unfortunately, almost all of the less favorable reviews are about the big outdoor sale once yearly and not the actual antique mall. I have yet to meet one unfriendly, rude staffer or antique booth operator in the mall (& I talk w/ anyone & everyone:) Prices in the mall, for the most part, are fair, especially if you know how to finagle a good deal. (Bring cash, if you want the lowest price.) If you are a regular antique buyer and know the actual value of antiques, you'll realize that the prices here are not all that high. (There are a few booths that are an exception to that rule, but that's to be expected.) This great mall has an antique section & an antique consignment section. Definitely haggle in the consignment section (never pay full price) & try for a 20% discount in the antiques sales section. Again, NEVER pay full price. There is remodeling going on at this time, so there's a little less to see-- the blue section (which had more upscale offerings, especially gorgeous, solid wood furniture) is gone for now. On Fridays, it's optional for vendors to be present, so some booths are roped off. However, don't assume you can't buy from a roped off booth. At times, nearby vendors will sell wares for absentee sellers. Additionally, floor staff can/will usually contact the seller with your offer; be sure to ASK if you see something you really like. There's a small indoor cafe, along with some tables & chairs. Bathrooms are always clean. Once you exit this mall, be sure to walk around to the side to see all the small shops-- more antiques as well as local art. (Florida Faience Gallery is a MUST visit-- see review.) Renninger's is a must if you like vintage ware, but don't just stop here. There's so much beauty in the area. There's a great downtown area as well as some gorgeous nature sites. I have been to their Pennsylvania Location and this location is very similar. Your standard flea/farmers market but very spacious! The variety for the "regular" section was not great but they seem to shine at the (lower/right side) events area. Depending on your interest you can find some great items here. They have different events just about every week so the variety is great on this side. They can get busy and parking is available but be aware it may be a walk (over uneven grass) to get to the market from your car. read more

We usually turn right and go down the hill to the main building we do a walk through then spend some time around the side and back where all the smaller buildings and sheds are. It's seems to be where more of the full time vendors are located and I've found some really good items and I was able to negotiate the pricing down to sometime reasonable. We've been several times although some of the items have remained the same for years it seems some of these vendors really search and have found some lost treasures so you never know what you will come across. I have also attended one of the weekends when vendors from around the state and some from neighboring states show up, it's pretty crazy but the selection is amazing and if you know how to bargain and understand what your buying they will bargain verses them having to load everything up and take it back with them they understand that's part of it so don't give in to easily. Overall an absolutely great place with wonderful vendors and their shops set up so cutely. The Buying Station at the end is run by the nicest, friendliest man willing to make a deal. Make sure to check out his expansive selection. Peggy's Garden Antiques is adorable for French fabrics, interesting objects, burlap pillows and lovely white cheery furniture. Peggy is sweet too. Of course you run into the crab apples. There was one vendor at the end "better with antiques" who was a witch. I like taking photos of potential purchases to view them at home so I can see if a piece will work. I buy many items this way. Well this witch actually came up to me say no photos! Such shortsightedness. I was going to buy two pieces there so she lost a customer. That's ok, her stuff was overpriced anyway. Other than this sour puss, all the other vendors were friendly and welcoming. There is loads of wonderful garden ornamentation all throughout the antique center. And, for the most part, the prices are very fair. The center is open every weekend and is a wonderful way to spend the day meandering around. read more

I went to the big festival and wow!! There were so many antiques and goo gas and gadgets lol. There was local honey and sculptures literally anything you could want. I enjoyed it. While some pieces were slightly too expensive most of the items were reasonable and fun. If your looking for trinkets or unique pieces for your place this is definitely a must see. My wife, our daughter, and I had such a fun day shopping at Renninger's Antique Center. My wife and I had been here before; but, it was some type of special event, as they had paid admission to one area; and, nearly the entire property was covered with vendors and parked cars. On this day, it was fairly easy finding parking, not too far from the main structure. We picked up some cosmetic items; some candies, and nuts; a purse for our daughter; and, we purchased some refreshing drinks as well as some tasty snacks. The vendors were friendly and professional, and beyond helpful. Product demonstrations and complimentary tastings helped seal the deal on more than one occasion. We had a great time. read more

The Antique Extravaganza event is 3 times per year, we went Friday, February 15th. It goes Friday to Sunday, 8am to 4pm, and is located on the outside grounds of Renninger's Flea market with about 800 vendors! The admission is $10 Fri, $6 Sat, $4 Sun, and free parking. I would suggest getting there as close to opening as possible. We were there for 5 hours, and only got through maybe 2/3rds. It is mostly under the shade of trees, and there is so much to see and buy, and I went home with lots of treasures. There's also food trucks, beer, and covered seating to eat at. There's tents, tents, and more tents, and we had a great time. There was good live entertainment too in the food area. We drove up from Tampa, and will do it again. read more

A whole heap of stuff The sign says Antique Center but I would classify this more as a flea market. Flea markets are intrinsically more bizarre, eclectic and diverse than antiques places and Renninger's is definitely bizarre and eclectic. A vast place with probably hundreds of different vendors offering all kinds of different stuff. Sure, very nice and attractive antiques can be found here but lots and lots of very strange and unusual collectables and crap is scattered around too. Of course the unexpected inventory is what makes Renninger's so much fun to poke around. You never know what's going to be around the next corner. Maybe an exquisite antique or some junky thing that looks like it was salvaged from a dumpster. The prices of course vary a lot and are in most cases negotiable. But with some careful looking you can come out of this place with a whole heap of stuff for very little money. A very cool and interesting place. Renninger's has really become a weekend attraction for me. I know that sounds odd, but there it is. My papaw (grandfather) used to bring my brother and I up there on weekends for fun. There used to be a shop in the air conditioned section that sold cheap toys. That's all we ever cared to know about Renninger's. We would get so excited. This was the early 90s. My dad would occasionally bring me up there in the late 90s as a teenager. I thought it was a cool place then because they had such a huge variety of things for sale. Going up there usually meant buying coins from the coin people, even if it was to find a state quarter I didn't have yet (back when state quarters first came out). After a 12 year hiatus, going to Renninger's now means looking at all the old stuff for sale. I love history, thus, my fascination with old things. I don't necessarily know what I'm looking at or understand its value, but I enjoy it. For some reason, I never visit the antique center. I always visit the flea market. Next time I need to make it over there... Renninger's is really getting with the times. Sure there are all the "junk" vendors you'd expect at any flea market but it's stuff that doesn't have Made in China written all over it, even if some of it really was made there. What I noticed on my last trip is they have vendors now that would interest people from the city (Orlando), other than antique sellers. I had the most successful shopping experience this last time I was there. I was quite pleased. Allow me to showcase some select vendors: Thrifty Treasures - They sell all kinds of small antiques. I was glued to their varying selection of antique bottles. After taking lots of pictures, I bought a late 60s-early 70s Pepsi-Cola bottle. Pickle Barrel - There's a guy that quite literally has barrels full of pickles. You can sample each one. My favorite is the Sweet Hotties. I was so excited! For some reason I had been missing the isle he's on for a few months (I'd never kept track of which isle's we'd gone through). I was like, "It's the pickle guy!" ...Me and my unabashed enthusiasm. The pickles enjoyed a very short life at my house. Tina's Greek Deli - I wasn't hungry and I wasn't looking for Greek food. Once I saw them I had to know if they sold tzatziki. You bet they did! *rubs hands together* This stuff has a whipped consistency. The stuff you buy from Publix is not fluffy. This, too, did not last long at my house. Earth Woman's Pantry - She sells organic herbs, teas, and spices. Her nook has the coolest shelves - they are upcycled pallets! Truthfully, I stopped there because she was selling African Black Soap. I had never heard of it before but I now know it's this really awesome kind of squishy soap made with ashes and oil. I was pleased to see someone at this flea market selling natural soap - a soap that wasn't made by Avon. (If you are into Avon, there's totally a section at the flea market for you). They sell tiny, small, medium, and large bottles of honey. I bought one small and three tiny bottles, all of different flavors. The small bottle is actually for my face. (Combine brown sugar and honey and you have yourself an all-natural face scrub.) The guy was really nice. I was looking for a container to dispense homemade tea or homemade lemonade. I thought he might have something that Ikea or the Container Store couldn't offer. I settled on an old liquor decanter that didn't have lettering or brand logos. I need to de-calcify it but it's still a cool bottle. When you come to Renninger's you'll find a gem or two. Just be warned - there are a couple of puppy sellers here. I choose not to punish all the vendors for this. I just walk past them and shake my head.
