I called her with less than two weeks to go until my wedding and though she had another one that day, she still squeezed me in Saturday early afternoon. I've never liked the results when someone else has done my makeup, but she's phenomenal. Her techniques were sooo precise and detailed. She spent time on me, but I still came out looking like myself.... only better. What's as important, if not moreso, than her skill is how soothing and mellow she was. I had some serious nerves/stomach issues that day, but she just talked to me like we were old friends. When she wasn't talking, she was doting on me, ordering me club soda and coming up with other solutions. She had such a calming effect and was one of the highlights of the day, truly. I paid about $175, which may seem like a lot but I talked to makeup artists who started at $300. Lenore was worth it. Call her.

They informed me that they are open one Saturday a month so I made sure to grab up a time quick! Upon walking in, the waiting room is small. But it's a small facility that only takes about 3 clients at a time so there's no need for a massive waiting room. Not to mention all you do is fill out a document and you're on your way. I read through the document because I hate when they grab you in the fine print with something sneaky. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Just your standard warning that skin may turn red, cancelations not made 24 hours before require a charge, etc. Pretty standard. I looked to see if there was anything about tipping. I didn't see anything so I made sure to remember to tip before I left. Barbara was the one who did my facial and microdermabrasion. She was so incredibly sweet. I actually fell asleep at one point because I was so relaxed with the music, smells and feeling of the facial procedure. The whole thing took about an hour. When I got done Barbara handed me a mirror to look at my skin. It looked awesome! The tone was even and my skin looked so refreshed! Recently I've been super busy at work, so I kind of dropped the ball on scheduling at one of my usual spots, so I decided to give Nola's a try. The basic facial is $75, and it lasts about 70 minutes. For an extra $10, you can add on a peel. They're closed on Monday and Sunday. Scheduling was pretty easy. I called and left a message, and was called back within 24 hours, and they scheduled an appointment without demanding a credit card. Cool! Once you walk in, it's hard to believe you're only a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Grand Ave. The treatment rooms are on the small side, but they're nicely decorated with drapey fabric. I forgot to get the name of my facialist, but she was VERY MELLOW. They do NOT push product like some other places. Everything they used smelled really good. It was so soothing she thought I had fallen asleep. Now here's why they only get 4 stars. I got extractions - part of why I get facials, I want a professional to squeeze the gunk out. Well, I think she left the peel on some of the extracted areas too long. I generally have some puffiness or redness immediately after a facial, but within a few days I am glowing and happy. This time I ended up with one little spot that just can't be covered by makeup. I am praying that it resolves itself before picture time. I will revise my review after a few more days of recovery. I will probably go back here, because the overall experience was great. I ran into a friend about 30 minutes later, and she couldn't tell I had just gotten a facial, which was cool. The prices for waxing are within the range of other nice places in the Bay, but more expensive than the back room of a nail shop.
