This is hands down the best massage I've had in Reno! I requested a 90 minute deep tissue, and Brenda exceeded my expectations in every way possible. After a rather unpleasant experience at a reflexology practice in the Costco shopping district on Harvard Way, I opted to find an alternative massage therapist. I'm glad I was motivated to find someone new. She addressed the pain I was feeling in my right elbow with 10 minutes of deep tissue therapy by focusing on my upper right arm. The fascia build up in other parts of my body were also alleviated with her firm and targeted pressure. Brenda pointed out problem areas that I should work on, and recommended use of a foam roller to avoid fascia build up in other areas. I felt like I was walking on water upon completion of my 90 minute session. The location of her office was super convenient, and there is plenty of free parking available. I booked a massage with Brenda last week. It was nice. Not a ton of actual massage happening, but I felt ok afterwards. I also booked the Ritual Bliss session. I paid in advance and was really excited, but unexpected events happen in life and my gripe isn't that the session is non-refundable (in fact, she did my massage early because she had a cancellation). 1) No empathy at all that my grandmother passed away. Like an, "I'm so sorry!" Just about "her time" that I already paid for. 2) No working with me for an alternative to maybe do a massage or something instead when I get back into town. When I first came to Brenda I was suffering from multiple issues including shortness of breath and a body that was just twisted in knots. I formerly was an avid mountain biker but was unable to ride at a consistent level with all I had going on. I let her know I was open to any options that she assessed I needed. That first visit, Brenda was shocked to see how much my sympathetic nervous system was misfiring. She described it as wound so tight that my body could not respond, it was in constant fight or flight mode and never backing off. We started with massage therapy but quickly moved into cogno movement therapy. Over a series of monthly visits I began to emerge from the dysfunction and could see it reflected in my mental outlook and physical well being. The first time we worked with cogno movement therapy in less than 5 minutes I gained extensive range of motion in an injured shoulder that was far greater than I had before the injury. I have maintained that range of nation ever since. We later spent two full sessions and I unwound physical and traumatic barriers that have left me feeling at the peak of health, physically and mentally. I have referred family to Brenda for both massage cognitive motion. She is extremely knowledgeable and customizes your care plan based on your needs. I can only tell you Brenda is like no other massage I've ever had. She has a healing and intuitive presence that will cause you to walk out a different person that you walked in. She began by holding on to my bare feet to "tune in" to me and align herself with where I was energetically. From that point on, I began to relax and not only physically feel better but heal. She asked me a few questions about my energy level and honed in on something emotional even though I had shared absolutely no personal details about myself. I told her I had enough energy for 10 women and she responded "maybe on the surface, but your body is telling me something deeper, something more profound..." I physically had pain in my trapezius and a numbness in my legs when sitting in bed. She told me about my SI joint being way off and that my sweet little body was "crooked as a stick". She could see by the way I laid on the bed. She is very gifted at what she does. She used cupping, vibrational forks, her gentle but also strong hands, her years of experience and her intuitive gift of listening to the human body and spirit. I got lucky when I found Brenda on Yelp. The reviews on her services were spot on! She is an excellent masseuse, professional, thorough, friendly and I immediately felt comfortable with her. I had been experiencing experiencing neck pain for a couple of weeks and then it moved into my back. I called, left a message and she returned my call within a couple of hours and was able to squeeze me in the next day when she had a cancellation. Brenda is very professional and experienced and the massage was very firm and strong. My shoulders and neck were so tight I was getting headaches, and I knew I needed to do something.
