No wonder why tourists make it a point to come here!! Totally metal and rocker-friendly atmosphere. But it's an EVERYBODY bar! All walks of life coming into here and having a great time! I love that most drinks are SUPER cheap and there's nothing bougie/overpriced here. They have shows in the back at RENO'S LIVE almost every Friday and Saturday. Karaoke Wednesdays and comedy on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Just to name some things. It took me a while to realize the front wooden patio is no more, but the back patio is one of the most underrated patios in Deep Ellum. It has everything you could ask for except people. I hardly ever see anyone out there. Granted the weather is not patio friendly right now, but on some Sundays there will be bands on the patio and its fun to kick back in the nice weather with a beer and listen to them play. Reno's is a no frills kind of place with friendly service and a rock-n-roll attitude. I've been going here for years, and it still kind of scares me. In a good way of course! read more

Heavy metal biker bar with good happy hour drink specials. $2 for a 16oz Lone Star! One shot doubles. The best deal in DE. The people that hang out here are pretty cool for the most part. The BT'S are usually cool. I like that they allow dogs in the bar. That is really cool. Not sure what the rule is though. This place is rumored to be haunted, but, I'm not convinced of that. I think BT'S come in with a hangover and imagine shit. Lol. They have let me go in the back room where they host live music sometimes, and, try to get a ghost feel. I haven't felt anything, but, I haven't been comfortable enough to focus either. Most times it's too heavy metal for me. Always sounds like the same guy screaming into a microphone, like his balls are in a vice. Not my kinda music. However ball twist metal is not always going on. Sometimes the BT'S will play music. Hey ladies! if you like biker boys and cheap drinks, this is the place for you!!!!!!! us yelpers had a UYE in the deep! this was one of the pit stops. We got here at around five or six pm...it was still early but there were people drinking in the front already. It's really welcoming! They are the most down to earth folks! we were chatting it up with them outside for a little bit. Fun times! I asked the bartender if she could make me something sweet because this girl can't hang!!! she made me something that was just perfect! So this wouldn't have been a place that I saw and said I want to go here! BUT... To my pleasant surprise it's been one of my favorite bars this far on my trip to Dallas! I ended up here because I was in Deep Ellum and needed to find a bar with a TV, that was willing to play the Purdue game since it was the final game of the Big10 Tournament. Bouncer is a complete joke kicked me and my friends out because he said out ids looked fishy even though they are real. Showed him videos of us in there before names on Id even match our credit cards and we even offered to ask the cops to scan them and he still said no they seem fishy and kicked us out . My friend asked the bartender for her tab then she never came. I asked for the tab again and she comes over and starts problems saying I need to be patient after only asking the second time. Starts to get loud then the other bartender guys comes out of nowhere telling me to stfu whore and get out :) all because we asked for the bill. I'll tell you what - I unexpectedly really dig this place. It wasn't that I ever had any prejudice towards all things devoted to leather, spikes, bikes, and beer, it just never cross my mind to look past the parking lot packed of Harleys. Thanks to awesome Yelpers I found myself in here one hot Saturday afternoon. This place resides on the outer Northeast crust of Deep Ellum and couldn't be more perfectly located. It exudes an 'under-the-radar,' local vibe with no sense of pretentiousness whatsoever. It doesn't need the spotlight as a Main Street bar would. It's a dive bar with awesome regulars that don't seek out a scene, but a home away from home instead. The bar isn't the largest, but the decor is welcoming and was just the right amount of 'used.' The bartender was lovely, the games were on, the beer was cold and cheap, and the crowd was right. What is there to complain about? read more

What?! Only 23 reviews for Reno's at the time I'm writing this one? Crazy. Reno's is an awesome and, as Kristie A put it, underrated place in Deep Ellum in my opinion. Just slightly off the main drag of Elm (on Crowdus), it is a great dive bar frequented by bikers. For whatever reason, I guess people tend to think they can't go into a place with bikers, but everyone is totally friendly and you should absolutely go in. The barstaff has always been really genuine and nice when I'm there. The patio is super-cool and has these awesome, HEAVY-ass stools and tables. Each table is complete with umbrella. Live music is out here often, certainly all damn day on Sundays because I get to hear it every week--my apartment is right across the street. But its fine! They also have vending machines where you can get Hot -n- Spicy Pork Skins, phone chargers and Magnum condoms. read more

This is an awesome little biker bar in Deep Ellum. A nice respite from the millennial nature in the immediate area. It also has a stage in the back so both local and traveling bands can showcase their talents. It seemed like most of the patrons were regulars. Yes it's a biker bar but don't let that scare you. They also serve burgers, etc (smelled good but I didn't get to sample any) and bands play in the back room. The night we were there the bands that were playing were The Holocaust Humanity, Sonic Noise Terrorists, The Razorblade Dolls, and Ghoultown- it was packed and they all rocked. Everyone seemed nice when I was there. There was even a spontaneous sing a long to Journey's, "Don't Stop Believin'" . Drink prices are good and the bartenders are nice. read more

I stumbled on Reno's after leaving July Alley one night, and I have quite the fondness for it. They have $1 drafts and $2 wells before 8pm, so it makes it the perfect spot to have a few before heading to see a show at Trees or the Gypsy Tea Room. Not for the faint of heart. read more

Probably one of the best bars in Dallas. Nothing snooty or pretentious here. Just a good mix of regular people trying to get their booze on, their bike on, their rock on, and their rock's off. I only recently had the pleasure of getting out onto Reno's patio, and boy what a patio it is! Usually there's a $10 cover to see whatever band is out there, and since I typically show up with the sole intention of drinking and no clue who is even playing, I just lurk inside or in the small space outside the front of the bar where you can see all the motorcycles lined up (and drink!). The back patio has tons of wooden tables with umbrellas and chairs, a big stage in one corner, and, as is true throughout Reno's, the drinks are among the cheapest in the area ($3.50 for a strong well). The folks who hang out here are a mix - some bikers, some regulars, some happenstancers - but all are friendly and seemingly looking to just have a good time. The staff are attentive and friendly too, making Reno's a must stop on any Deep Ellum bar crawl. Sure, you can get slightly cheaper drinks on special's nights at other local bars, but whatever day of the week it is, you can count on Reno's for a cheap night out. Extra plus, it's super close to the Baylor Dart station so nobody needs to be drunk driving! read more

Truth be told, I wasn't too impressed. The people were friendly enough, but it took forever to get someone's attention so we could order some drinks. Had the bar been packed, it would have made more sense. However, there were only a handful of customers and the reason we weren't being acknowledged was because the bartenders were too engrossed in a conversation with one another to notice. Even then, they still could have earned a decent rating of three stars because once we were able to order, our bartender was extremely amiable and attentive. What really upset me was the lack of awareness people seemed to have about the other sections of the bar. We asked the doorman several questions about the bands that would be playing later that evening and he knew nothing. I can understand not knowing the times people would perform, but he couldn't even tell us if we could pay the cover fee with a credit card, or if it was strictly cash. That should be basic knowledge that anyone working there should be able to answer!!! I might come back and give these guys another shot. It seems as if the people that live around here really love the place, but for the time being I'm really not all that enthralled. read more

This may be a "biker" bar, but rarely do you see the clubs going there, just people looking for awesome hard rock/heavy metal both on the jukebox, in the live venue and on the mixed cd's they have to fill in during the time no one wants to pay to play the juke box. Everyone is there for a good time and I have never seen a fight or rude people for that matter. Many people don't know, or care to find out, that most metal heads and bikers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet as long as you treat them how you want to be treated. I have been looking for a bar like this since moving to Dallas 5 years ago and have found my new home! If you like Disturbed, Slayer, Lamb Of God, 80's hair and regular metal (from Quiet Riot to Iron Maiden) and basically any hard rock/ metal you can think of, as well as awesome unknown talent you may not have heard of that plays live here, then you will love Reno's. The dark, cluttered inside, with Jaeger in a tank and pierced, tattoo covered bar tender ... how good does it get!? I prefer something like this over the West Village's polished bars. I have been going to Reno's for years because of its anti-establishment/rebel nature that you generally get within a biker bar. They also play hard rock music that are on the deep playlists of my Spotify account and you get absolutely snootiness that prevails the younger Dallas crowd. The service is always great and friendly but they also joke and play pranks that most bars would frown upon but here its fitting. There is no shine or polish to the place, its pretty raw but never gross. You'd also think the bikers would bring in a rough crowd, but that is not the case at all. They generally have a light, fun crowd that just might roughhouse a bit more, and this fits right within my wheelhouse. read more

Reno's is a special place. Everyone is welcome, not just bikers or metalheads. The drinks are cheap, the crowd is cool, laid back. Its one of the SAFEST bars in Dallas as well. In fact, if trouble starts nearby, people tend to run toi Reno's for help! Its also a place where pretty girls can hang out and not get hit on every 5 seconds. The atmosphere is very um, family oriented. Lots of couples there. People get married there or meet spouses there etc. And drinks are CHEAP with a good beer selection (over 40 brands). read more

My knowledge of motorcycles and the MC culture is limited to what I've seen on "Sons of Anarchy" (great show, watch it) so I was kind of intimidated to go with friends who suggested it. It was pretty mellow when we got there, but started to pick up as we were leaving. I was definitely feeling out of place based on the way I was dressed, but the people there are really friendly. MUCH friendlier than a lot of places in Dallas, which really warmed my heart to the place. Cheap beers, good shots, the cigarette machine had brands that my friends and I didn't know still existed. We sat outside basked in the glow of the crowd. This isn't a place I would have suggested, but it turned out to be really fun. I don't think I'd wear J. Crew and pearls next time, but it's a good time! read more

I must say... I love bike bars. They are just so easy going and casual. I dig Reno's. The drink prices were fair and the scene is very eclectic. I think it is pretty cool how they have a separate back area just for bands, that way people who do not want to see the live music do not have to. Reno's Chop Shop is a diamond of a biker bar located in Deep Ellum. Let this pirate tell you, if you gotta spend time in a land-lubbin' bar, a biker bar is the way to go. The front of the bar is appropriately lined with bikes, mainly Harleys, and throughout our beer drinking experience there, the guttural roar of a Harley starting up and leaving the premises would periodically interrupt the hockey game we were watching on Reno's big screen. The inside of the bar is dark but lit up with red strip lights that hang around the bar area that give off a red light district feel. The bar area is also decorated with loads of $1 bills that people have taken a sharpie to. If y'all don't believe I was there last Sunday, go look for the dollar my friend and I marked up. The bar was also pretty clean, which surprised me, and I didn't leave smelling like an ashtray, even though I smoked about half a pack of cigarettes. Upon walking into the bar, my eyes were beset with older men with hair longer than mine. One had a patch on his jacket that said, "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out". It was then I knew whom I was hiding behind when the brawls broke out. The other patrons were 30 somethings that sang along to the jukebox and cracked jokes with the other beer drinkers in the bar. The bar staff was also very friendly and good humored. The owner happened to be there that night, and at one point he grabbed a megaphone and announced that every time the Stars scored, the next 5 minutes the bar would have $3 you-call-its. The Stars won that night 5 - 2, and needless to say, my friend and I were feeling the effects of the owner's fanaticism. While there, I also sampled the menu. I had a burger with fries and both were pretty good. They made my burger to order, which I liked, and the fries were big, fat steak fries. Just the kind of food you'd want from a biker bar. They also have a good selection of beer and liquor. Aside from being a good bar to go watch a hockey game, Tuesday nights they have $2 beers and well drinks, Thursday is $1 drafts, and Friday they have Texas Hold 'Em tournaments. They also have a jukebox, which is one of those fancy modern contraptions that only ever has one song off each CD in its play list. However, we still managed to spend $8 on song selections. The bathrooms were clean and there was a lovely message in my stall about "call ______ at 214 _______ for a lovely STD". Man I love biker bars. read more
