a row of liquor bottles on the bar
    Ray F.

Like the sound of a glass longneck bottle being dug out of ice on a hot and muggy evening? Then you are half way to loving this place! Driven by here for years, but never stopped in. There's a fondness growing in my dry parched heart for this place. It absolutely doesn't look like a dive bar as it is in an old strip mall when you pull up. Coin operated car wash across the street and you might miss it. Big parking lot with a somewhat bordered off smoker's porch out front to the right of the entry. Walking in to the left, you see the bar with 50's/60's styling and a huge mountain of alcohol bottles. As you walk up to the bar, you can see the huge troughs of ice and bottles and cans. This is a bar! There are tables, cozy booths, juke box, small dance floor, pool tables, dart boards, big screen TVs, karaoke on Saturdays, and lots of friendly East Dallas folk! Add to it that this place is known as a Dallas Fire Rescue hang out.

This place is awesome. Great atmosphere and the about the best priced drinks in the city of Dallas. Bartenders are all nice and I think their liquor selection is probably the biggest I've ever seen in a dive bar. A must see

Best liquor selection I've seen in a dive bar ever. Friendly people and bartenders cold beer clean restrooms. Plenty of tvs lots of dart boards and a couple of pool tables. It's a must see in Dallas for sure.

We went last night for the first time when a live band was there. The band was great and they have a small dance floor. Next time, I will wear boots instead of flip flops. Changed from 4 stars to 5. We go as much as we can. In fact, going tomorrow night. I think the band is playing every other Thursday now.

It's ridic to give this place anything less than five stars. You want a dive? You want a real dive with real regulars? You found it. This place is in a sketch 'hood, in a strip "mall" and it's also BYOL. When you walk in you'll see how big the place is. We met some of the regulars who met us with open arms, so to speak. Had a glass of wine (real sturdy wine glasses) and a shiner; talked to the regulars and now know we have to be back!

Best dive bar in Dallas! Great bartenders with a great beer and liquor selection! Where else can you get Dogfish Head 120 min IPA and 1942... Both for 15 bucks each. Lots of activities and great people! Pool tables, dart boards, Silver Strike bowling game that also has Lawn Darts and Cornhole. Best drink prices in East Dallas! Come drink with us!

Lone Star fresh outta the ice for him, and an ice cold margarita for me!!

Came to celebrate a Birthday last night. We arrived early and didn't know a soul. Within minutes…read morethe owner, bartender and patrons invited us in. Don't let the dive bar ambiance scare you it's definitely the people and the vibe that keeps you here. We witnessed people from all walks of life from Tesla to bicycle singing and sharing moments that can't be duplicated. Had a blast and can't wait to go back!

This place should be kept a secret and limited to invitees only. I almost didn't want to review…read morefor that reason as I'm not sure everyone should check it out. It has a special, magical charm of the perfect dive bar. I'm ignoring my previous trip there as, well, I should not have brought that person to this place. This place is not for pretentious people. Thus I was at home at this spot. It looks camouflaged by plain wrapping with a boring exterior. Open the door and it is a world of more things to explore than you have time to. You are treated like family as a stranger. Be ready to be among people who want to know you. I guess I fit as some there knew my friends from other dive bars. I never realized how small the Dallas Dive bar world was. I have some cool friends. The music is good on the video jukebox. The tears came to my eyes as a few post 9/11 patriotic songs were played (I bleed Army green and so did some that didn't return home to their moms intact.) Glad none there saw my eyes or noticed my toast to my memories. The couple dancing on the next song made me feel more at home. Good thing a good 2 step or waltz never played or I might have had to find a partner. The decor is somewhat Green Bay Packer-ish. Okay, a lot of Green Bay love in the decor. Heh, yes, I still carry a grudge from the 1967 Ice Bowl as a life long Cowboy fan should! But, I respect a bar owner who has actual stock in his/her team and displays it proudly! So that adds another star or would that be Starr? The patrons make this one special. This is one of the great dive bars!

We were told to get there early because there is not a lot of seating and the place fills up quick so once we finished dinner, we just went straight over there and we got there around 7 PM and it wasn't very busy. It was also such a special day for the club because it was the owners anniversary of owning the club and they were also honoring one of the musicians who is a long time performer at the club, so I got to be a part of such a great celebratory experience for this venue all around and it felt so special. You can see that the owner has curated a space where not only musicians come to show their talent, but people come for real love of music and community. It seemed like everyone there was family with one another and everyone was just so welcoming. It was not busy when we got there, but it was standing room only by the time we left around 11 PM so I would say if you are planning on going get there early. Anytime I am back in the Dallas area I am going to make sure to come here. They do not serve any food, but the drinks were fantastic and the music was top-tier.

What a mistake! First of all, there was a $20/person cover charge. For what?! The band? The first band that was playing was four guys that looked to be drunk frat boys playing poorly and hardly knew the words to the song they played. The second band was fronted by a guy who was so flat it hurt my ears. They were no better than a band playing at weddings, which they did promote themselves to be available for. The song choice terrible! Footloose?! I know it was a predominantly white crowd but come on! Then when they did sing an Earth Wind and Fire song, they were so bad that Maurice White was probably turning over in his grave. What a sad state of affairs!

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.
