Firstly, because it was a surprise, my initial appointment was changed a few times to try to ensure that my mom was free and could make the appointment. It was a Saturday appointment that started at 1, then changed to 4:30, and finally, back to 2:30. The salon was extremely accommodating. I could tell that a late appointment would be pushing it but she still allowed it for us. Thankfully, we were able to get fit back into the early afternoon to allow ample time for our services. It was our first time there and I'm sure it was obvious as my mom and I stood around waiting for additional instructions lol but they didn't waste time in providing us directions. We were seated in one of their pedicure rooms where it was just my mom and I and we appreciated the fact that we were seated privately. I didn't catch the nail tech who worked on my mom's nail but my nail tech was Jolie and she was so sweet and kind. They both did a great job with us, and I appreciate that they were patient with us as my mom isn't totally confident in her English. So, as far as services, we got the spa pedicures and their classic manicures. Both packages came with a paraffin wax which was new for my mom but she did comment on how soft her feet were afterwards. She was a nail tech herself back in the late '90s and mentioned that these additions are very new and nothing she remembers. She mentioned that she'd like to come back for more spa pedicures which tells me she had a great time and a wonderful experience. We will be returning for sure and would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a new nail salon to try!

They were able to remove old polish that regular nail polish remover did not remove (be sure to always use/have them use a base polish to help this) by sanding. Sadly, my leg massage (came with my pedi) was just okay. She literally set a timer for 10 minutes so I know I got what they advertised. I was talking to my companion the whole time so I don't know if she did more than one coat. Based on the current status of my toes less than a week later, I think she inky did one coat. I would give them another chance in a pinch. They are located directly behind Hood College so they are super convenient for students to walk to if you'd like to give your student there a treat!

When we got there, we agreed immediately and were taken care of fabulously by the staff. I also got an additional treatment where I got my eyebrows waxed, and my waxer was incredibly professional and very sweet. We had a wonderful conversation. The overall studio is exceptionally, relaxing and comfortable. There is seating available for a variety of body types, and I found the facilities to be accessible, as someone who is walking with a cane.

If you opt for a classic manicure, you are paying high-end prices for polish that's been sitting on the shelves three owners back. It's not unusual to see the technicians pour acetone into the polish bottles to extend the life of the polish or so it's not goopy. Their cleaning practices are also questionable. If you select gel polish, be careful when placing your hands in the driers. You can feel that the inside pad to place your hands hasn't been cleaned for a long time or ever. Overall the people are nice but it's clear they cut corners, more money in the owners pocket while ripping off her customers. It's a hygienic nightmare. I'm not sure why nail salons are not inspected, they should be.

They used to be fully staffed and busy and quality of manicures and pedicures was really good. Now they only have 3-4 staff members. Today I came in for a pedicure and hadn't been here in a very long time (about a year). The tech that I got was a young American lady whom a I've never seen here. First, I had an appointment and had to wait over 20 minutes while my feet sat in cold water (and I'd already asked to have the water warmer and it was barely accomplished). I don't mind too much of a wait, but communicate with me and keep me comfortable while I wait! Then she starts on my toenails with a nail buffer after I relayed that I didn't need any nail trimming. The very first big toe she buffed she nicked at the bottom and it started to bleed! I should have stopped her right there and left, I've never had that happen before! Then she proceeds to berate me about the skin on my toes asking what I've cut them with and stating that "it looks like someone gnawed on them." I was shocked and really offended. Then when I told her I didn't need my toenails trimmed because I had already done this myself she said "oh, you already gave yourself a pedicure before you came?" While she did a decent job with the painting, she also buffed places on my feet that were very uncomfortable...such as on the tops of my feet! I do not have calluses up there! I also just had foot surgery...a bunion removed from from my right foot and I communicated this with her. She kept bending my toe down in an uncomfortable position while painting it. I've never had a nail tech talk to me like the way this lady did and I will not be returning here due such an overall bad experience. I will find a new nail salon that respects me and makes me feel comfortable. There are plenty of places here in Frederick!
