The worst! Even if your are dying, don't go there. No one knows what they're doing. From office staff to Drs.

He has tried to pressure me to perform a prostate biopsy because my PSA continued to rise. Prostate enlargement will elevate PSA. PSA does not reliably diagnose cancer. My annual Prostate MRIs never have shown any return of cancer. He never discussed starting me on medication to reduce the size of the prostate and to lower the PSA. Another Urologist immediately put me on finasteride and my PSA normalized. Nowadays doctors make much more money doing biopsies than office visits. That is the business of medicine. Two friends recently had prostate biopsies at the same clinic instead of a safe prostate MRI exam. Fortunately, neither biopsy showed cancer. However, one nearly died of sepsis from the biopsy and the other has MRSA prostatitis for the rest of his life. Both complications were completely avoidable.

Basically, every time I saw him, his attitude was, 'why are you wasting my time, you could see a PA for this'. Before I moved to Reno from a larger town, I saw multiple urologists for the same reasons I saw Dr. McCormack (kidney stones), and none of them dismissed me or urged me to see at PA instead of them. Also, in the years I saw Dr. McCormack, he never once performed a DRE. I received DREs from prior doctors at a younger age annually. And annually from my new urologist in Carson City. Check the standard of care, this may not meet it? PS - Urology Nevada is horrible and worse than Dr. McCormack, of which he is a part and presumably a decisionmaker and part of management / ownership, so he has to take responsibility for the poor service of everyone who works for or with him here. See my separate review on Yelp and see all the horrible Yelp & Google reviews written by other patients. Also, you have to fight with the front desk every time because they will auto-book you with a PA instead of with Dr. McCormack for your next appointment. YMMV if you have other issues deemed more serious than a history of kidney stones, which may possibly be what he prefers due to being more lucrative or other reasons?

I can honestly say as far as Urologist practice goes they're consistent with most. What I was looking for is cutting edge knowledge and ideas that help you to avoid unnecessary biopsies and surgery, but it seems my practitioner ( a PA) is trying to move me in that direction. My suggestion of a pca3 antigen, a pse or isopsa test were met with dismissal. My provider seemed shocked that I wasn't interested in a turp, having worked in healthcare myself for over 40 years the fact that turps are still being done is surprising to say the least . Apparently this practice is same old same old. I did like the Sparks location better which they're closing. The Kitzke location feels more impersonal, more like herding cattle. I was offered a feedback form to express this but it only directs you to a phone number that doesn't get answered. hmmmm......

I arrived, did the normal paperwork, paid my deductible - all good up to this point. The nurse asked me some basic health questions, but none of the usual checks. Just how tall, my weight, that's it. I'm like, ok fine. Dr. Tam walks in, says hello. He has this totally disinterested look on his face. His assistant, a young lady, sits in the corner typing notes. Dr. Tam says, so what brings you here. Honestly it's a bit awkward talking about urinary issues with a young, female assistant in the room typing away as we talk, but again it's fine. He listens with this same uninterested look. I walk through symptoms and history, ask a few questions about medications. He's like yeah whatever you think might help. He's the Dr. here mind you. After about 5 to 10 min, he says we can take a urine test if you want. Clearly didn't seem to care one way or another. Then he gets up, shakes my hand and leaves. That's it. I ask the nurse if I'm supposed to leave a urine sample, she says yes, we do that and they walk me out. No follow up, no nothing. This visit cost $300 (my insurance is an HSA plan). Huge waste of time and money. Never again.

After putting up with lost specimens, lost test results and 4 day delays in getting prescriptions tor the numerous UTIs I got after treatments. I have in the last three months switched to Renown Urology and have been getting excellent care and information on my condition. As I was checking in with the receptionist, I was told that my portions that need to be paid was $297.00, must be paid today. When making the appointment, was told it could be billed and only a co-pay would be needed. I was not prepared for that amount, since I live of a fix income & I'm retired. I was also told that I could cancel, but would be billed a no show fee, if about the same as the payment above. After resolving the payment, went in to see, in my first visit a physician assistant PA-C. Filled out all the paperwork that was required. Was taken back to the exam room, and was asked the same questions that I was ask five minutes before. Wait for the PA was about 4-5 minutes (good timing). The PA, that's a women asked me why I was their, told her that my blood work from my PCP MD, was all great except my testosterone levels are on the low side. The PA tells me that, testosterone levels are not important and we can do without supplements, but if I feel like I wanted, not needed, she would have to do more blood work, in fact 7 more test, and she would refer me to another doctor (probably another PA) and we would need to do blood work every 6-8 weeks. Because of side affects. I ask if mine was high naturally, would it be the same and to be truthful, I have no idea her answer was, then she said, if that's all, you need to make another appointment after I get the blood test done. Please check out at the counter, nice to meet you. Ppl reading this, come to your own Conclusions. Was in the the exam room 3-5 minutes, cost $297.00, needed me to see another one of their doctor/PA, and the cost of more blood work. It's my personal opinion, since i am a retired health care provider, that this Establishment is here more for the profit's then patients. They want you in and out, they want payments in full, they like referring. They are nice, and courteous and friendly, but who would not be for $100.00 per minute?

A genuinely terrible surgeon…read more I have bad luck in general and even worse when it comes to doctors. I was diagnosed with a pelvic fracture after a motorcycle accident. I decided to consult with Dr. Kieckbusch after an unfortunate recommendation from a nurse in the local emergency room. Dr. Kieckbusch was a little too eager to perform surgery--which should have been a red flag for me--even though I wasn't in very much pain, and I now question if my initial diagnosis was even correct. Fast forward to post surgery in the hospital: After waking up, I immediately think something is terribly wrong. I'm in excruciating pain and begging my wife to go find the doctor. Kieckbusch informs us that the level of pain I'm experiencing is completely normal after surgery and opts to increase my pain meds. I grind my teeth and somehow make it through the four day hospital stay. One week after surgery, and I KNOW something is wrong. My morning erections are pointing straight down (that's right, DOWN) and send pain radiating throughout my entire body. For the first time in my life I'm actually dreading the thought of having a boner. Three weeks post surgery: After seeing my family doctor and then a urologist, it turns out that two screws had come loose from Kieckbusch's surgery and were most likely jingling around in my pelvic cavity the entire time without him knowing or caring. Even worse, the urologist told me that Kieckbusch damaged my penile suspensory ligaments during the surgery, which explained the painful and wonky erections I'd been having ever since. Oh, and here's the best part--the urologist tells me that after repairing the damage to my suspensory ligaments, I'll lose at least an inch of length and probably still have less erection stability than I'm used to. No more cowgirl for me. I'm struggling not to cry as I type this...
