Went to Reno Vein Clinic in 2018 due to some ugly vericose veins running down my legs. The experience was excellent. I can't recall the doctor's name anymore but he was a older gentleman, I believe working part time in semi-retirement. Anyway his bedside manner was exceptional and I was very much at ease. The procedure was not all that unpleasant, although; not particularly pleasant either lol. Nevertheless it needed to be done and I'm just tough enough to handle some needle pokes. Afterwards, for about a month every time, you could see the bruises where the ugly veins used to be but that was anticipated. I knew the bruises would go away from the consultation and they eventually did. I went there three times that year and can now say, after 5+ years that it was worth every penny. My legs still look fantastic thanks to RVC! read more

I had a very nice experience under the care of Dr. McCrorey. I came to Reno Vein Clinic for a bothersome facial vein just under my eye and he took care of it that same day of consultation with scelerotherapy. Dr. McCrorey was very patient and kind as he answered all of my questions. He visited a long time with me whereas most doctors can barely give you attention while making you feel rushed. Dr McCrorey and his ultrasound tech deserve five stars for their compassion, professionalism, knowledge and expertise. Their front desk staff and insurance/ billing personnel, however, deserve 0 stars. The person in charge of insurance and billing was rude and unprofessional both to me and to the Cigna insurance customer service rep who was trying to help me on a 3 way phone call. Dr. McCrorey is listed as in network for Cigna according to several people including the front desk person with whom I made the initial appointment with plus several different Cigna customer service reps whom I contacted regarding this service provider. The doctor is also listed in writing as in network service provider in several different online Cigna documents. The doctor's tax ID number listed him in network on the date of my service. When confronted with all this information the billing/ insurance person refused to listen stating that the doctor is out of network for Cigna.She would not acknowledge the discrepancy and stated that the insurance rep was wrong and HUNG UP ON THE REP!! I was listening on the call and heard her do this! Both the insurance rep and I were shocked at both her unprofessionalism and her ignorance. The insurance rep advised me that I can file a formal complaint against this office via Cigna to have them taken off the preferred provider list. I am considering doing this at this time. I did not proceed with the surgery due to the behavior and ignorance of the billing/ insurance person. My surgery would have been covered 100% and Dr. McCrorey lost a potential surgical patient. I received the EOB from the insurance company which showed the office visit was covered at 100% since the doctor is an in network provider. I would advise not going to this office until they get a qualified person to do their insurance and billing. Apparently, after discussing this situation with a different vein medical office in Reno , this other office informed me that this was not an isolated incident- that Dr. McCrorey's office has this reputation. 3 years later and still Very pleased with my results. I had to have a vein removed and than 3 rounds of injections for spider veins. My insurance I had at the time didn't cover it but it's still worth the out of pocket. The first round of injections hurt like a son of a monkey like baby bee stings and left decent bruising but worked! I told the dr and the 2nd and 3rd didn't hurt much at all. Compression leggings for 2 weeks after is rough. But again all worth it! I just had a baby and have a few spider veins rerun. I will be going in for a touch up soon. Just do it!!! read more

I had surgery with Dr. McCrory on Tuesday. Everything went great and love both physicians there. But ran into a problem today. The compression hoes given to me after surgery ripped significantly in the inner thigh area, approximately a diameter of 4inches. The hoes became painful to wear. So I called the office at 3:27pm and spoke to the receptionist. Stated what happened and offered to purchase another pair so I could get through the weekend. She stated if I could get there by 4:45 I could pick them up. I stated I was still at work and if I was able to make it I would call and state I was on my way. At 4:33 pm I called and spoke to Elsa who stated I should still wear the ripped compression hoes that " they're still good, even though they don't look pretty" I explained it wasn't about looking pretty as I wear them under my pants, that they're painful and the hoes wouldn't last the weekend. She seemed annoyed and confirmed what the receptionist said and that if I could get there before closing I could pick some up. I stated I was 15 mins away. I arrived at 4:47pm saw the last employee drive away and noted the doors where locked. I called no answer of course. The deceiving thing is that everything states you're open till 5:00pm. Your website and answering service. Plus two employees knew I was in my way? If it wasn't ok to come at that time tell me in the phone! Just be honest with me. I'm not looking for a handout. I'm happy to pay for the compression hoes. I have some more ordered online but obviously won't get them for several days! I don't know if this will be ok after my surgery? If someone could contact me with some answers that would be great. read more

I had a really terrifying experience there. I still have symptoms of PTSD, with nightmares and panic. All because he lied. Then took money that he didn't EARN. Be careful to ask specifically what medications you'll be given during surgery. When I left I'd undergone surgery with little or no sedative. A long procedure too, about 2 hours. I've been in Twilight Sleep over 20 times. I know when I've been sedated. During my younger life I had problems that resulted in a Hysterectomy when I was 30. I'd gotten free from living with illness, until I broke my neck. That's why I needed my varicose veins ablated, the forced immobility had caused blood to pool in my lower legs & feet. The first appointment I was told I'd be under "Twilight Sleep during the procedure." The second appointment I was told the same thing. It wasn't until I was in a gown & in pre-op for the surgery, AFTER my credit card had been charged for the entire $7,800.00 ( $1,200 of which was supposed to be for IV Sedation ) that I was told I'd "be kept comfortable." If any sedative at all was given, it was a tiny amount. If you've ever had an IV sedative, you know the relaxed feeling. The necessary peaceful feeling that everything will be fine. THAT'S WHAT SEDATIVES ARE FOR. I felt EVERYTHING. The cutting, the pulling, the burning, all with a cloth over my face and the nurse chatting away. If I hadn't been lied to I would have sedated myself before going there. I was delirious when I was leaving. The nurse gave me a hug. The nurses were kind. It isn't their fault, although there is no way they don't KNOW. I won't go back, ever. I strongly suggest anyone needing vein surgery look at ratings and really check the doctor out. I don't want this to happen to any of you. read more

By far the biggest waste of money I have ever spent to improve my physical appearance. I had about 15 vein areas on my legs treated in November 2017. They were bruised and discolored until about the end of February 2018. Some of the started to fade in March. One year later every single vein area they treated has come back full force. I am 5' 6", 125 lbs. I walk every day and stay fit by eating healthy. Do not waste your money on this clinic. Super disappointed! And I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I'm not one that leaves reviews, but my hope is to pay my experience forward. I hope those reading this will choose another vein clinic! I had 2 veins on right ankle that I wanted gone. The Doctor assured me I'd need one, maybe 2 treatments and it would be gone. Two treatments later it's still there (lightened a little). Upon returning to office I was informed they do not do certain areas only and I must pay $480 for entire legs or $300 for that little area (as a favor). Unbelievable! Never was I told after 2 treatments area wouldn't be resolved! I had assumed the office would do the right thing and re-treat that area as a courtesy. It would have taken 10 seconds to quickly inject 2 small veins. I'm extremely disappointed that $1000.00 later those 2 veins are still quite visible! I've had varicose veins for 25 years and they were just a cosmetic issue until a couple of years ago when they began to ache at night. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to needles, etc. so I put off seeing anyone about it until the pain worsened and starting keeping me from sleeping. I'm so glad I had a trusted friend who referred me to Dr. Merchant. I drove 300 miles just to have him as my physician. He and his entire staff--from receptionist to nurses to interning physician are FANTASTIC. From the time I walked in the door, I knew I was in great hands--every single person went out of their way to make me feel welcome and informed. I've been in a lot of medical offices and I know that the best doctors attract the very best staff, and that is certainly the case at Reno Vein Clinic. The surgeries (both legs on separate days) were a breeze. I was surprised to experience little to no pain during the surgery or afterwards. The surgery suite was relaxing--almost spa-like with enjoyable music playing and friendly conversation--it put me at ease and took my mind off the procedure completely. The IV sedation is light but effective and I was checked on often to make sure I was comfortable and not experiencing any pain. The entire experience was easier than going to the dentist--my only regret is not getting it done sooner. Also...shoutout to Nurse Marianne. I've dreaded IV's my entire life because of my tiny veins.
