JOHN WAS AMAZING! HIRE HIM! We hired him for a studio to 1bd move and he was all over amazing. He brought the supplies and truck he mentioned and all his strength. We had boxes filled to the brim and furniture. He carried all, mostly by himself, on 4 flights of stairs total. His strength and stamina are unbelievable. With all our stuff and the 30 minute drive, it came to about 2 and a half hours of service which is $120. We added some more cause he was awesome but I believe it's optional (but highly recommended!). Thank you John for your help. Hopefully we don't move soon but if we do, we'll hire him again! read more

John is an honest down to earth guy who is completely up front with his costs and abilities. His rates are competitive but fair for the quality of work he does. He has a moving truck with all the right tools to take on odd jobs some of the bigger movers won't touch. I reached out to him less than 24 hours ago to move a fridge. He was able to fit in the job quickly due to a cancellation and arrived right on time with his estimation (even with tons of rain!). He was able to quickly move the fridge, without even a scuff on it or any wall along the way. What a pro! We were so impressed with John's work we are keeping him on speed dial for odd jobs. Small moves, large appliances, trash hauling, this is the guy for the job. Great personality and sense of humor, will make you laugh while getting the job done! Thank you! Superb! John is a rare person! This morning he removed full and king mattresses for me, plus a queen mattress and box springs. Then, with all due speed he unboxed and put new mattresses on 2 beds - not a small task because even the full was heavy and expanded very quickly. I had a new king sized padded bedframe for the 3rd bedroom which he put together and then installed the mattress. He also removed 3 pieces of furniture and is dropping that off at Goodwill for me. John is one of those unique people who does what he says, how he says, when he says, for the price he has quoted. His communication skills are top notch. He showed up on time, had all the proper gear (Enclosed 24" truck, ramps, dollys, blankets, etc.) Hustled and wasted zero amount of time, and was way more affordable than the big boys. You should absolutely give him a call and get pricing. Your not going to find a better deal and it's worth your time to consider them. I'll be sure to give them a call next time I'm moving or need assistance. read more

I got ripped off I cannot recommend John-he kept all of my designer handbags, designer clothes,oscillating fans and appliances.He told me to leave while he was taking all of my clothing and handbags. He broke the closet doors off the tracks and broke the steel off of the laundry room doors. He also took plants outside of my condo that were never supposed to be taken. I felt John took tremendous advantage of me and my property . He probalby will sell to flea market and make thousands.He then decided to not finish my job and left after taking all of my belongings and leaving me high and dry. John is a hard worker and gets the job DONE!!! I am so happy to have a guy like John to call who is not afraid of doing some hard work. Do yourself a favor and leave John a message or keep calling him to make an appointment. He is usually hard at work and not answering calls while working so give him a chance and don't just call someone else before you have an opportunity to speak with him. Lol.... He may sound cranky on the phone but in person he is a Sweetheart. Make sure you give him a hard time if he sounds cranky and tell him to SMILE!!!! A plus service from this company. I reached out the early part of November and John got me scheduled me quick! The day of our move, he was able to move up our scheduled time. These guys meant business, they came in and moved a two story apartment to a storage unit in just about 4 hours! I think my husband and I were blown away by not only their speed but also the way they organized the unit, we definitely wouldn't have know to do it they way they did. The service was worth every cent, hopefully we will be able to use them when we move into our new home next year! read more

I bought a love seat at a Thrift Store and needed someone to pick up and deliver. I called and spoke to John. I told him what I needed and he gave me a price. He was busy and said he would call me back. He did call me back unlike so many others. He went and picked up the love seat and he also took the old one to dispose of it. John the Owner literally went the extra mile to take care of business with our situation. My wife and I bought some furniture in Glendale AZ. The store would not deliver the furniture because we are 375 miles away. We called many places to get prices for a delivery. ( ( EVERYONE WAS CHARGING TOO MUCH )) When finally John answered the phone and gave us great news . John offered to take the furniture to the UPS FREIGHT DIVISION to save us money . (( We never thought of that GREAT IDEA )) We asked John if we paid more, will he bring our furniture to us. We were afraid of possible damage to the furniture through UPS FREIGHT. He agreed to deliver to a location 375 miles away. Thats was the best personal service and customer care we could of hoped for. NOT A MARK OR SMUDGE ON OUR FURNITURE. I hired them a year ago to move my furnitures to my new house, and i bookmarked them since then. The price was very good, and they worked very hard and fast. It was summer time, and I did not even see them stop to drink water or take any rest. They also help me to move a king size bed that was not on the list to second floor without additional charge. My girlfriend and I got the shaft from a different moving company, and were scrambling to find someone last minute. John was one of the couple different people we called. He was booked up, and couldn't help us last minute.... I can understand why. I can only imagine anyone who has met or dealt with him has come to understand that he offers more than just a service to get things done. Though we did not use his service this time, he was constantly in contact with my girlfriend, making sure that our second moving company was on time, what to look out for, the questions to ask, and followed up to make sure everything went well. John went above and beyond for a VERY reasonable price!! My husband and I just moved in and neither of us is very handy. John came (the SAME day I called him!!) and put together some furniture for us and hung a few small items. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, and charges an unbeatable rate! The next day my husband was attempting to out a desk together that turned out to be a bit out of his scope. I texted John and he came the very next morning and got the whole thing put together in only an hour's time! I can't recommend John enough! I am so glad I was referred to these guys. They helped me move and it was don't in a timely manner and they were very careful with my belongings. They were in contact with me when appropriate to ensure we were on the same page, which I appreciate from dealing with others that kept me in the dark. John and his crew arrived and immediately took care of everything. I even had to leave them to tend to another business issue and there was no slacking, just hard work. I can't believe I didn't write a review for Rent-A-Friend Labor Services. They helped me move this past April and it was the best moving process. They were professional, prompt, efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend them for any move. I called John today because I need help getting a heavy armoire up 3 flights of stairs. I used Rent-A-Friend for a move from storage unit to storage unit. I thought John was a nice guy. Pretty friendly. He worked quickly and got the job done. I think it is different for other people to move someone else's things. I like to try to move things without damaging anything. He seemed to be put off that it was important to me. But he did the job in a good time frame and cost wasn't too bad. Only a couple things got damaged in the move. Thankfully they were high priced items. read more

I am a solo operator who offers local junk removal, donation pickups, moving, delivery, and general labor services. I strive to provide a stress free service experience. I work by myself and with my clients to accomplish the desired task or project. I can provide a 24ft Box Truck with tools or a pickup truck with a trailer I offer Junk removal and donation pickups. Pricing varies between $25 for a individual item pick up and up $600 to fill my entire 24 ft box truck. moving rates are Rates are $100 for the first 2 hours then $45 per hour for each additional hour.

History

Established in 2004.

Rent a friend labor service was started in 2004. It was started in an apartment by John. He only had a pickup truck and a borrowed 6 ft x 10 ft trailer. At the time he provided small delivery and handyman service. A few years later Rent A Friend grew and John was able to expand his equipment to include a 17 ft moving truck and provide full-service moving and relocation. Eventually, he was able to hire a few employees and upgrade his truck to a 24 ft moving truck. However, due to the nature of the industry, in 2017 he downsized to just himself again and is now offering small moving, delivery, junk removal, and general labor service. His plan for 2019 is to create specialized junk removal options for neighborhoods and communities. In an effort to make the removal of items more affordable and expand the market.

Hello, my name is John Normandin, I am the owner of Rent A Friend labor services. I have been working since I was twelve years old. I've worked in many industries such as grocery stores, real estate, warehouses, and other misc. labor work. After realizing my unhappiness with the industries I was working for I decided to branch out on my own to better help individuals and to fill the gaps in the market. I have tried nearly every licorice they have ever brought in, same for their olives. Mmmmm!! This is a terrific place to find stocking stuffers too. They also greeted you on your entry and I've been helped by a lot of friendly workers. I really enjoy this location. It's my favorite in the valley.

World Market was once Cost Plus World Market until Bed Bath and Beyond sold them in 2021. In the earlier days, I shopped here for furniture and bottles of wine for my wine collection. Then I started buying their coffee products. I pick up a bag of coffee often, especially during the holiday season when they offer seasonal flavors. World Market sells many specialty and import products. You can find all sorts of stuff like home furniture, kitchen products, decor, rugs, and gifts. In the grocery section are international food products, coffee, beer, and wine. My favorite time to come here is during the holiday seasons when they stock the shelves with lots of fun Fall and Winter products. When it is not the holidays, the products that I buy most here are extra virgin olive oil, coffee, pasta, and any other snacks that I can't find in regular grocery stores. Even though World Market has changed a lot over the years, I've always enjoyed the International theme here mostly because of my time being overseas. If you ever come to my place, a lot of my furniture and decor is from World Market.

When I walked into Furniture Station, the sofa that I had been looking for was sitting right in the center of the room, as if the owner, George, knew I was coming. The sofa was exactly what I was looking for and the price was exactly right. George delivered it to my house that night and even helped me make arrangements to get my old sofa to its new home. George is great to do business with and I left feeling glad that I'd spent my sofa budget in his store.

Just-In Time Moving truly helped me out of an emergency situation…read more I had originally hired another moving company, Not Your Husband Moving, and ended up in a terrible situation where I was billed for more than double the estimated hours for the move into storage and the move was not completed as originally estimated. I needed to get my household goods out of their storage quickly to stop the situation from getting worse. Just-In Time Moving was gracious enough to fit me into their schedule last minute. Their office was communicative, their estimate was thorough and clear, and the final bill matched what they estimated. The crew showed up on time, communicated throughout the day, and was professional, careful, and kind. This was not a simple move. They had to unload my furniture and belongings from storage crates, unwrap items that had been wrapped by the prior mover, take care with everything, rewrap my furniture, load it, transport it, and unload it into my new storage unit. They completed the entire job in 7.5 hours. By comparison, the prior mover had tried to bill me 16.5 hours for the move into storage alone. Just-In Time Moving did a fantastic job, and I am extremely grateful they were willing to help me on short notice. After the experience I had before them, their professionalism, clear communication, and honest billing meant everything. My advice to anyone hiring movers: read all reviews carefully, do not take online ratings at face value, check whether the company is listed with moversaz.org, review BBB ratings, and read how the company responds to 1-star and 2-star reviews. I wish I had done more research before hiring the first company. I am very thankful I found Just-In Time Moving when I did.

I originally found them when I needed to move a piano and quickly realized that, based on the quotes I was getting, it was almost as expensive to move just the piano as it was to move the whole house. Thankfully they handled it with no problem. Both moves were smooth, the crew worked quickly, and everything was handled with care. Moving is stressful enough, so it's always a relief when the team you hire is organized and professional. Another reason I'm happy to keep giving them my business is that they volunteer their services for a food drive at a nonprofit I'm involved with. Seeing a company show up for the community like that really means a lot. Great service, dependable team, and a company that gives back. Hard to ask for more than that.

The backsplash that came with the vanity did not have a side piece, so he came up with using the tile from the shower floor, which really tied everything together. His entire crew from demo to finish were so helpful and answered all my questions. We keep pinching ourselves every time we walk in our bathroom to make sure it isn't a dream! We couldn't be happier!
