Movers Jerry and Chris endured mid day triple digit heat and responded promptly as items were identified to be moved. Would have been nice to know in advance how long it would take beyond the two hour minimum. Move took 6 hours to load/unload the 56' truck from two locations 2 BR, den, patio, and garage. The 2 gentlemen who moved us (Jerry and Chris) were great. They showed up on time ready to move our things. We moved from the 3rd floor (no elevator) to the 1st floor. It only took them 3.5 hours to move all of our things and we had a bunch of boxes along with a king size bed and other furniture. I am very impressed with the service the 2 gentleman provided us. Everything was moved carefully and nothing was broken or damaged. My husband & I reserved a move with In or Out Movers a month in advance. We were flying to Mesa, AZ to pack up my Mother and move her to Illinois. We arrived on Thursday night, and had 1 day to back up her things. I reserved a time/day with Terry to have two movers pack up 3 PODs. Terry called me the day before to confirm. The next day Gerry and Chris arrived right on time. They were completely prepared with extra tape (we ran out) & tools (we had none). They were very careful with my mom's things making sure each box was properly sealed and the furniture was carefully wrapped. I had ordered 3 U-Haul pods, and they fit everything in 2! I had the worst experience with In our Out movers . Terry promised that he would call today and let us know when he and his team comes in . He calls in the morning saying he wouldn'nt be able to make it after he said he will be coming with his team the previous day . Luckily , I was able to find another mover company to help me . I learned not to trust this company ever again . I had to pay extra money to the new movers because Terry changed his word today and was rude when I called him the previous day to know whether he would come today or not . read more

We chose In and Out Movers and Storage not because they were the cheapest but because they were reasonable--after many many calls to others--had such great Yelp reviews and when we spoke to terry in the office, he was especially pleasant. We had so hoped that our short across-town local move--20 minutes away--would be smooth and uneventful. It was everything but and what went from an estimate of 2.5 hours from terry became 7.5 hours and lots of excuses and justifications for why eh move literally took all day. Movers were supposed to arrive between 9 and 10am and would give us a heads up when they were 1/2 hour from arrival. At 9:35, we receive a call from the driver Leonard that they had to stop and get gas because the last driver left it empty. Told that they would be at the move site in 11 minutes. After not arriving in 20 minutes, we call Leonard and find out that he truck won't start and that they are waiting for a jump. Note that they didn't call us to let us know. We had to call them to see if they were lost, etc. They arrived at 11:00am and took 2 hours to pack up the items which they did a fine job with. Then after packing the truck, they said they were talking a half hour lunch and would head over to the destination site. At about 1:45, we finally call them to see where they are. Turns out the truck is dead again and they are waiting for someone to come help them. They didn't call to update us. At 2pm they say they wiggled some wires and the truck started for them. Unpacking took at ]2.5 hours. At this point it's close to 4:20is/ 4;30 and we get a call from Terry for payment. As if we didn't already know, he leads with the fact that the job has been about 7.5 hours and proceeds to calculate the cost. We then remind him of the problems that occurred that have stretched the move out far beyond the estimated time and his response was "We couldn't control the truck's breaking down but I'm not charging for the down time.' I would hope not! So, we pressed for an adjustment and he offered to take off 30 minutes. When pressed further he took off one hour. And Terry seemed irritated that I was reminding him that he should offer/ give us a cost adjustment. It would have gone a long way had Terry been very apologetic and from the get-go had taken off and hour for the gross inconvenience we experienced. We had scheduled a move for a 2-bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom condo with no large or complicated equipment--no appliances, no aquarium, no filing cabinets, no pool table, etc. This should not have been a complicated or long and drawn-out move. While the movers themselves were very friendly and good workers, we will neither use nor recommend this company. Even though our experience may be an outlier, it should certainly be taken into account when potential customers are reading through the other rave reviews. Our experience, through no fault of our own, was disappointing and just the opposite for us. read more

Awesome experience!!!..... I used this company this past tuesday to move my mom from a large 2 bedroom home in east mesa to a small one bedroom apartment in downtown Phoenix. I love my mom but she is very picky and i know i would have a hard time gettin her to put stuff in storage. My move was unique. I only needed assistance for a few pieces that were too heavy/big for me and my vehicle. I called several moving companies, including In or Out Movers, all of which quoted me for at least several hours of work plus other fees - the lease expensive quote was about $185. The furniture only needed to be moved to a storage unit about 5 miles down the road and I knew from previous experience that the move wouldn't take 2+ hours. I was starting to wonder if $185 was the best price I could get with only a couple days notice. Then Terry, with In or Out Movers called me back - knowing the pieces I needed moved and where they were going, In or Out Movers significantly reduced their original quote AND offered to come out to do the job the next morning. I was quoted 70 per hour and 85.00 for the truck which seemed reasonable for the type of work they do. they use a large uhaul truck and have all padding and they came prepared with moving equipment. Very pleased with these guys. We had some issues on our close and move date, Terry was very accommodating on our date mix ups. Leonard and one other gentleman (I don't recall his name (Alex?), but also extremely pleasant) showed up on time, and promptly started loading. We moved an entire house from one place to another (not just a few boxes!). It was a long day for them, and they knocked it out of the park. My biggest concern was my full sized gun safe, they moved it out and in no problem! I even had a motorcycle with a dead battery, no problem, they loaded it up and transported it. I have to say many companies are out there with prices all over the board, these guys are the most reasonably priced, and did a great job. No breakage, quick, and nice guys! We scheduled time for In Or Out Movers the weekend we closed on our house, and they came and did an excellent job on the large furniture and equipment pieces we had contracted them to move. They were a bit concerned for us as they finished up as we still had a TON of stuff to move. We quickly realized we would never get it all done by ourselves, so called them early in the week to get back on their schedule for the following weekend. They squeezed us in as they knew our situation, and came back and spent even more time with us, but got *everything* moved for us!! This is the worst company ever. Never again. If I could give a zero Star I would. When we called to get a quote, we asked what would happen if we were not all the way packed? We explained how much stuff we had to move. We were told they would happily disassemble and reassemble furniture. We were told they could help us pack. We were told no problem that we had a 1900 sq ft house with a garage and shed full, that it might take a second truck. This is not what we got at all. The foreman showed up and walked through the house and said very rudely you are not even ready to move. We said we need to be out today, he said no way. When my husband finally barked back at him for yelling at us for twenty minutes he told my husband to fuck off find someone else and left to get in his truck. They showed up in a rented uhaul not what's pictured. They told us the owner was an old man that had some screws loose and doesn't know what a job takes. He said we would need twenty men and four trucks to get this job done. We felt stuck so we begged him to come back. The foreman was I'm not touching this, like our TV's . They refused to put our furniture back together. They left gouges in the walls at one house. He refused to take apart the fridge to get it out the doors. So he sat while my husband took it apart. After he got big furniture on the second truck he came in are told us he was leaving the rest to us. When we said there are a lot of small things to still go he said no room on the truck. So we walked out to the truck to find there was room. Then he said I have this space here I don't want empty space anything we can put here. He just kept complaining about the job instead of working. The two men he had with him were nice and tried to do what they needed to do. We called around to try to get other movers out there at the foreman request. We finally called people in are church. Our church members did a much better job. The 5-6 hours quote of $500-700 turned into over $1000. Please avoid this moving company at all costs. read more

In or Out Movers did a great job for us when we moved from a 4000 sq. ft. home to a ~2000 sq. ft. home, 35 miles across town. We did a tremendous amount of up-front work - boxing & downsizing all the stuff we had accumulated. Of course, we still have 30% too much for our new home. In or Out moved everything out on a Wednesday, stored the trucks and moved everything in on Friday. I highly recommend that day break between moving days...especially if you're 50+. Leonard, Adam & Rob worked their tails off. Big thanks to Terry & his crew. Great movers! I don't usually do review but decided to post for this company because I was so impressed. They are priced great, with no hidden fees. I had a few other quotes and this company was the best priced. The movers worked really hard and were very polite. We had one worker smash one of his fingers and instead of a string of swear words he expressed PG language, something I don't if I could have done. We were moving long distance and had a lot of stuff and they were able to pack our truck like a great game of Tetris, but also protecting our furniture. Thanks for such a great job! read more
