As a first time RV renter going to an astronomy event in a "dry camp" around a telescope field in central Oregon, i discussed my upcoming event with the people in the office, the owner and the RV crew. I was initially happy with the driving experience and motor performance, **However I caution any RV Renter to go elsewhere to rent your RV. ** 1. My RV did not have a full tank of water and even with cautious use of water I ran out on the 4th of 7 days *WITHOUT TAKING A SHOWER*, WHICH WAS SURPRISING SINCE A FAMILY OF FOUR CAN BE ACCOMMODATED. 2. My RV did not have power for air during the day nor for heat. I was later told that THE BREAKER WAS SWITCHED OFF - which even if I knew this, I would have no idea where the breaker would be since it was not part of my initial introduction to the RV prior to renting. 3. My RV had a GENERATOR ISSUE THAT CREATED MUCH FRUSTRATION AND INCONVENIENCE such that no matter how charged up I kept the generator, it would start up randomly and would not stay turned off so that I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE IT OUT OF CAMP SEVERAL TIMES IN EARLY MORNING HOURS since generator hours were restricted. For my inconvenience, I was refunded LESS THAN 10% of my RV rental expense. I will go elsewhere for any recreational vehicle rental and advise all others to go elsewhere. We went on a family trip and stayed a little longer than we thought and the man was so nice he said don't worry about it. Love the costumer service we had that's why we r definitely coming back! Beware. I rented a travel trailer for a hunting trip and while their stuff is older I thought it'd be ok. On my way to eastern Oregon the wheel bearings blew out near the Dalles. A big thank you to the one employee at Rent RV who picked up a replacement axle and drove it to the Les Schwab in the Dalles who was awesome enough to stay late to fix it. They offered to let me keep it a few extra days but when it got cold the lack of weather stripping made it impossible to stay warm. When I returned it the owner barely said a word and his employee tried to say that with a fleet of 30 they can't keep up on everything. I pointed out it'd saved them thousands if they'd spent the 5 minutes to check the bearings. I suspect Rent RV repacked the bearing themselves as Schwab said a missing cotter pin was the source of the failure. Schwab was nice enough to check the second axle and found its bearing pack was unsafe and fixed it. Rent RV did pay for the repairs without incident but I'd have expected nothing less. They gave me a $100 credit but I don't think I'd rent from them again. They have older trailers, don't perform proper maintenance, didn't include wheel blocks or blocks for the stabilizers, made excuses when it broke down, and I'm sure will ignore my suggestion to fix the worn weather stripping. Guess they take the tact of fix it when it breaks and don't bother with regular maintenance and inspections. It could have been much worse I'm sure, but an extra 5 minutes of preparation would have saved me 6 hours of frustration and trying to sleep with cold air pouring in everywhere. read more

A friend recommended this place to rent an rv for burning man. As this was for a special trip I got a nice one. It was expensive but I figured it was worth it. As I was returning it I felt overall things went well. The rv was new and everything pretty much worked. So I was a fan. As I was transferring my stuff out into the car I had left in their lot I saw a 6 inch scratch on the passenger door of my new BMW. When I brought it to the manager's attention he first said it would buff out and that parking a car there is a courtesy and they don't take any responsibility. I went back in and gave both managers an opportunity to take responsibility and make it right and they declined. Basically they suggested where I park it, I have them the keys in case it needed to be moved, it was in their locked lot and one of their guys scratched the door but it's my problem. Argh. We reserved an RV with them in 2020. Because of Covid the airlines cancelled both of our flights to Oregon. They would not refund our deposit and told us that they would keep it and we could use it on a future rental. Don't think that is very professional considering the circumstances. I've rented a 31' 2017 sunseeker two years in a row from here for music festivals, and they've been nothing but awesome. Bob and his staff are super friendly and accommodating, they taught me everything I needed to know to have a good trip (I've never operated an rv prior). They let us pick up the rv a day early at no charge as well, which saved me a ton of time. Their prices are about the best you can find, and they even gave me a discount for being a return customer. The rvs themselves are very clean and new, drove great and had zero issues. Will be using them again for sure! PS - regarding review from the "burner" that owns the BMW z5 (the irony there is too good) - it's clearly posted everywhere that leaving your vehicle parked on site is not advised and you do so at your own risk. read more

I canceled a reservation with them yesterday after they failed to send my contract or deposit receipt for 31 hours. Alex Forsgren told me they would keep the deposit, which I could "use towards future rentals." He then finally sent me the contract without the receipt and claimed that he sent one earlier, but it must be in my junk mail. I checked, it isn't. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and a dispoute with my bank. It looks like I will probably have to take this to small claims court. read more

Honest, hard working, communicative, great experience. We rented for 22' Sunseeker for eclipse 2017, the whole team was on top of everything. They answered the phone during our trip when we had awning issues. After hours returns are easy. We called with questions while on the road and everyone answers the phone! I was trying to rent an RV for a work trip, after going in and checking out the selection we were given a written offer of around $2700 out-the-door for a couple weeks. We left with our estimate and were waiting for a confirmation on the job before booking, we told them all this. A few days later the job was confirmed so I called back to confirm and was told it would cost $3200 by the other owner. When I told him we had $2700 in writing he told me that didn't include insurance and fees, I told him it says that is included on my estimate and he said I should have taken the offer at the time and he wasn't going to give it to me again. So I said no thanks and went to Cruise America instead. Also the RV's are in bad shape, most of the fridges were gross and crusty and the expandable sliders all worked really poorly. What a fun vacation! Motorhomes are the way to go if you don't want to be stuck in a hotel somewhere. We really enjoyed being down by the lake instead of having to drive there. Also it was nice to have food in a fridge for the trip there, and a place to lay down when travelling. Loved it! read more

Rent RV LLC is pretty gross. I was initially shown a different RV than the one I was given. The RV we got had ripped upholstery on nearly every surface, it smelled like a can of deodorizor had just exploded, it has been backed into something by a previous renter and significantly damaged(pretty embarrassing to roll down the road that way), the fridge did not work, and the slide-out kept sliding out as we drove down the road. I had to cut 2x4s and jam them in the slide to keep it from shimmying out. Most of the light bulbs were burnt out and there were finish nails stickiing up out of the trim around the dinette which my friend cut his hand on. Prior to ever picking up the RV, i had dealt with Bob half a dozen times and he never recognized my name or face- not even when returning the RV. I explained to Bob all of the issues we had with the RV and asked him to make it right. I told him that I am not the type of person who orders and eats a meal then announces there was a bug in it to get a refund; I just wanted him to make it right. He told me that, "Nothing can be done." He blamed my experience on Bruce the owner and took no accountability for the condition of the unit he rented us. The RV was gross, but Bob was worse. He is clearly a lazy, greasy, slob who takes advantage of being one of the only games in town. I doubt he has ever had a return customer and i urge all first-timers to, by all means, go elsewhere! read more

This is the second time I've rented from Rent RV. Bruce and Bob have been great, taken great care of us and provided 5 star service both times. Bob also provided some great restaurant recommendations for our Oregon Coast adventure. They were also much more affordable and flexible than any other RV rental company I've rented from. I rented from here mostly because it was close to our house so it would be more convenient- but that turned out to be a big mistake. The price is the same as other rv companies around PDX but you pay for an older 2009 w/ over 100K miles that has many quirks and problems instead of the same $ somewhere else for a 2014. We were told that it had everything we needed for full hookups- the 1st day I picked it up it was leaking BLACK water on my street- the neighbors were walking by and kids were asking what the smell was- it continued to leak sewage water wherever we went or stopped, gas stations, markets, RV sites....... our first night camping we hooked the hose up to sewer only to find out it had two holes so sewage was squirting out of the sides of the poop tube everywhere!!!! This is such a health and sanitation disaster...Thank God the RV campsite sold new poop tubes but they were Def marked up- paid 32$ which is more than the RV site itself and that did not include the attachments =( the owner offered to reimburse me but then forgot to add it to my cleaning refund when he swiped my card- I said nevermind I will keep the hose and adapters I bought.- next issue: So in order to use air conditioning while driving you have to run the generator- well any bump in the road or railroad tracks ect would turn the generator off and someone would have to get up to start the generator back up...The hot and cold water handles in the shower are reversed... The screen door never shut correctly, and the passenger seat belt was a joke... we ended our trip a day early and had prepaid for our miles- we drove 200 miles less than what we paid fof anx rented a day early- they did not reimburse for either one of those=( whatch the movie RV.. that is how this RV was=( the owner offered 100$ toward another rental but I don't plan to rent from * Rent RV LLC* again. read more

This was the worst experience I've had renting anything, ever. Firstly, there was no registration or owner identification material in the vehicle whatsoever. This was very concerning and there is no evidence that the vehicle was even legally registered. :-( when we arrived to return the vehicle Miguel was prolific with profanity and amazingly unprofessional. When we had the vehicle on our trip to the generator was clearly malfunctioning. There is plenty of fuel and propane vehicle with a generator would not stay on. Miguel nor his boss ever returned our phone calls to help troubleshoot the problem. Also, when we return to be a call it was cleaner than we had received it buy a significant measure. Miguel attempted to charge a $70 cleaning fee. Similarly when we picked up the vehicle the black and grey water were both two thirds full. We we returned the vehicle in black and grey water were still two thirds full. Miguel attempted to charge us a $50 dumping fee. Instead of arguing with him further we drove the vehicle back to Oregon City and dumped the tanks. After some further bickering he reluctantly agreed not to charge us the dump fee anyway. Lastly, we reserve the vehicle for one week. We only need the vehicle for 3 days. Miguel nor his boss were willing to apply the residual credits towards a future rental or just not charge a for the extra four days. This was shall we say disappointing. If you are looking to rent an RV or frankly anything for that matter I would run run run far away from this very shady shady shady shady shady shady shady establishment. Really, this place is so bad they need to be reported to the better business bureau. I think after writing this I just need to do that. :-( read more

Wanted to rent a small motor home for a week but was concerned about the reviews. I sent an email asking about the negative reviews and Bruce was very good about replying and explaining things. Decided to go ahead with Rent RV and was not disappointed. Price was very competitive. Got the new 2015 Sunseeker and it was great. Took it on gravel roads to empty primitive campgrounds (just what I was looking for). Everything was simple and everyone easygoing. When I need to get out of the city and into the woods with some comfort, we'll be back! read more

Overall were happy with our rental. The rv place was not very clean looking, the RVs were in the same location as the repair shop. RVs are older and in fair repair, although we didn't have any problem with it on our trip to the coast. I would not give this place 1 star but you have to select one to write the review. My family and I were super excited to go camping in a Class A RV. We were first timers and the nightmare begins before I can even get the RV home, which is only a 20 minute drive. When I get inside, yes it looks a little run down but not terrible. Then I notice the hot air blowing out of the vents but the AC is on. I asked Miguel several times and he said it works, you just need to drive it, its hot out today and the heat from the ground is making it hot. Then I ask about the leveling jacks. He states you won't need them and really side stepped the obvious, they didn't work either. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way. When you are not on level ground everything is out of sorts (tank levels, water level, black and grey level). Then he shows me some wires and what looked to be a fuse, gerry rigged so the radio, slides, fans and who knows whatever else could work, but in order for the slide to work I had to pull the wires from the fuse box and then once the slides were out put them back in. The wires were so loose going down the road the fuse kept blowing, at one point sparks and smoke came from near the brake pedal. I ended up replacing the blown fuse 11 times. The list could go on. When I returned the RV I explained all the problems to Bob and he did nothing - yes nothing. Renters please beware of this business, it is not a safe place to rent any RV from. I plan to pursue several different types of complaints on this business. The BBB is first. read more
