Made the most out of our road trip but the camper was a real junker.  First thing I noticed was a quarter size splinter on the driver's side of the windshield obscuring the roadway. Half of the doors were jammed and didn't open smoothly and/or didn't work with the fob remote.  On the second day the key fell out of the fob while manually turning the key in the lock at no fault of my own.  The van wouldn't start out without the key physically linking with the fob and I got legitimately concerned that we would be stuck wasting time calling road service until I figured out a workaround. The heater didn't work.  It was winter in Yosemite so it was pretty cold. A portable propane heater was provided although I'm not sure it was recommended for indoor usage. The passenger seat was squirrelly and its seatbelt was tangled so it wasn't capable of retracting properly . The stereo was blown out.  The owner provided a bluetooth speaker however the charging cord she gave me never worked. Sometimes all the engine lights on the dash, including the oil light, would turn on for no reason leading me to believe that we experiencing engine trouble.   I'm not a safety inspector but I don't think this vehicle would pass any safety tests if it were being rented out by a legit rental company. I wasn't going to complain except they charged me an extra $415 on a 3 and a half day trip for the key fob, a few extra miles and an hour late return because of traffic. Honestly I would't book through this service again.  It's just so much cheaper, safer and cleaner to get an RV that works and runs and works properly. The management was all very nice and responsive...they even offered me a 15% discount if I wanted to book another trip with them but it wasn't enough. They really should be vetting their vehicles better before renting them. read more

Do not book with GoCamp. They will screw you over with multiple fees that they don't make obvious upon booking. Our trip ended up being almost double the cost of what we initially thought it would be. It is super unfortunate because we had a great time in the van and loved the owner. read more

All vans are considered road ready so all you have to do is pack a bag, pick up the van from the owner, and buy a few groceries along the way. Great for folks flying into Portland and wanting to explore the PNW for a weekend or perhaps longer. We had such a great time renting the EuroVan through GoCamp. It was an easy process for us to select and pick up the van and it was ready to go. We threw a couple duffel bags and fishing rods into the van and we were headed to Southern Oregon. The owner was fantastic when giving me the once over on how the van worked and walked me through operating it. She made it so easy and straight forward. The van was in great condition, clean and had all of the supplies we needed for the week. We didn't even realize there was a heater in the van which was great when we camped at Diamond Lake and it was below freezing! The box of s'more supplies the team provided was the best! The home made marsh-mellows in the box were delicious. We enjoyed them around the camp fire in Brookings, OR right on the beach! It was so much fun. We really appreciated how flexible the team was when we wanted to extend our trip another day because the weather was so great on the coast, we didn't want to come back! One last thing, somehow I left a fly rod in the van. The owner was kind enough to keep it for me and I am able to pick it up. I can't thank them enough for not losing it in the shuffle. What they call toilet in these vehicles is not a toilet nor do these vehicles really sleep 4. Horrible experience with the owner. I booked for less than 24hrs and they charged me $154.75 for processing fees. Seriously, that is some high processing fees. Would strongly not recommend to anyone. The owner doesn't have any integrity or understand what customer service is about. Also, False Advertisement! Be careful and know what you're getting into. I booked with another group for half the cost for a better vehicle with toilet and shower that actually can sleep 4 for a longer duration. We had a great time on our trip. Susie and Mike, who own Trillium were great. It felt like borrowing from friends. The van was well stocked we even picked up a few ideas for our '85 Westy back home. A couple of years ago, we rented a Vanagon near San Fransisco from a company that maintained their own fleet. It was a great trip, but peer-to-peer is just a better experience all around. My husband and I did an 8 day road trip starting at Point Reyes California up to Lake Tahoe. Between the booking service and the vehicle owners there really wasn't one thing that went wrong. Unfortunately we can't leave a good review after everything we went thru with Ben (owner) and the Van. This trip was supposed to be special one since we where leaving our state home and moving into our new state home. We where not going to rent with you guys if it wasn't because of a recommendation. After this the recommendation and us are not going to rent with you again and will make sure to spread the voice. We work with costumer service and this is unacceptable in our dictionary. The day of the pick up, I arrived a little earlier because Ben had phone calls meeting and ask me if I could. With no problem I said yes thinking that everything was going to be set and ready for us to just jump in and start our adventure. You would imagine that right? You pay a hotel and walk in into a cleaned room right? Not with them... The Van was completely dirty and full of dust, from top to bottom, inside and out. Not meeting any protocols for COVID. It was disgusting and unhealthy. Of course we couldn't leave like this. We cleaned the inside of the Van for 2 hours (that's how dirty it was). I even remember Ben wiping with he's hands the dust when he opened the back of the Van... The Van included utensils, sheets, camping shares, cooking stuff... we took everything out and didn't wanted to touch none of their stuff. After cleaning, we had to shower and get ready again. Not to mention that they gave us the Van with 1/4 of gas, making us stop in a gas station, clean the windows full of dead insects and lose more time... Are they taking this in consideration? Because remember the time you pick up the Van is when you have to drop it. You would thought so.... I let Ben know about this and he's answer was just a "ok, I'm so sorry about that." The second stop we do at a gas station. Looking at the tires, are they even in legal condition!? They knew we where driving a lot of miles... Do this people even care about anything? Then the worst part happened, in the middle of nowhere, with no signal, then Van started to lose power and the engine light came on. Good thing that it was in the morning and there was sun light. We stop, opened the front of the Van and the first thing we notice was that the Coolant was empty! Even thou the Van wasn't showing that it was hot, another thing that this people didn't even consider. Did they even check this Van before giving it to the us!? What are their safety protocols!? We where scare, stressed, frustrated and so disappointed at this time. We waited a couple minutes and started the Van slowly, deciding that we will cancel our next campground and tour and just go back home. We didn't wanted to be in that Van another minute more, however we needed to drive a lot to get back home. As soon as we had 2 bars of signal to make a call, we called Ben, he's answer was so "bah" that I don't even want to go there... We made it to San Diego slowly but safe. Loosing 2 days, our campground, tours and just the excitement of this trip. With a sorry from Ben, he ask if we could drop it at he's place. Again, we just said yes with no problem. We get there late at night, tired and frustrated because of all the bad experience. Ben took the Van and told us that he would take it to the mechanic the next day and let us know what and that he would refund the days lost and pay us for cleaning. At this point we where thinking this people will make it up for such a bad experience they provided us. Next day I check in with him. He's respond was that he was going to refund us 1 day and pay us $20 for the cleaning. Are you kidding me!? We lost 2 days, plus we payed $100 to rerun the Van late (at the reservation) and you guys charge $100 if the van gets returned dirty. If anybody is interested in he's respond I have the screenshots. For them us arriving late that horrible day (because we where far) was covering the $100 that we pay for retuning late in the reservation, plus still charging us the full day after everything we went thru with the Van that happened in the morning. He's paying us $20 because we cleaned the Van for 2 hours, but they charges $100 if you return it dirty!? Is this how you take care of your costumers? You guys are disgusting in every aspect. At least take care of the people that are giving you business. Don't be so greedy I try to take advantage of us. I don't recommend this people at all. I hope you guys learn from this and be a better company and take care of the people that will make your business successful ... Plus, check the protocols of this people and they Vans. The mechanic turned the engine light off and said it was driving fine. This is how shady this people are. I hope the next people that drive this Van are safe... Ps. *** WARNING BEFORE BOOKING WITH GOCAMP *** GOCAMP x COACHNET Does Not Prioritize Health & Safety of Campers - We the campers were stuck out in the Alvord desert with low water and resources with the campervan's battery shutting off. Campers were stranded in 100+ degree weather that turned into a sandstorm as the day went by. When flagging this potential dangerous situation, CoachNet / GOCAMP were only concerned about fees--delaying authorization for dispatch. It took 12 hours for help to finally reach us. Only after sorting who is going to pay for what. GOCAMP Ignores / Denies COVID19 Protocols - The nearest town that would ensure that the campers would have means and the resources to rent a vehicle to go back to Portland Oregon was not a priority for GOCAMP. GOCAMP offered that we take public transportation. When flagging our concern and reminding them the realities of COVID19, GOCAMP initially denied our concern. We were concerned that we had too much luggage to physically manage and ensure our safety, as we were not carrying N95 masks. Thus, taking public transportation was not the safest option. No human health concern was again, made priority. GOCAMP's counter offer (after more hours of back and forth)-- agreeing to pay $200 for Wright Taxi Service (now called HC Taxi Service) to Burns. In which, we had to pay up front, do the work to get out of the situation safely, no responsibility or follow through was done by GOCAMP. In addition to this, we would like to address their contradictory behaviors and communication. When communicating that this situation was time sensitive, the owner of the vehicle (Jordan) through text, stated he would cover us, getting to a place safely, until he found out it would cost $800. That is when he decided we should only talk to Karen (GOCAMP) about how to get home -- showing interest in the van not bodies. GOCAMP's Manipulative Communication to Skew Costs and Deny Responsibility - Another flag we would like to address and for GOCAMP to acknowledge: trying to get us to admit that we were off road. Jordan was well aware of all of our three destinations, prior our journey when we all met on August 2. Fact: we never went off-road. We used the car as directed. This was an initial set up of covering and deflecting potential responsibilities. For these reasons, we are NEVER going to rent with GOCAMP again. Did I also mention that one of their solutions was to "call the cops" ??? When we asked this situation to be escalated? Tone deaf, property over bodies and terrible communication during potential life threatening situation. Also never received any follow up, nor was our calls returned from Karen nor Jordan. Overall, everything was fine. Booking was easy, communication was great, but now that I've shopped around with some other campervan companies, I see GoCamp's prices aren't super competitive. For instance, we had a 125 mile limit per day with a fee per mile after that, and a $75/day fee for our dog. I just booked a trip with Outdoorsy and there's no mileage limit, and no pet fee, so it's a lot more affordable and just as nice. Other than that, our experience was just fine. The couple we rented from were communicative, the van was clean, it had pretty much everything we would have needed (although a foam layer for the bed would have helped, it was pretty hard...). read more

I've ruminated a bit on how to proceed with this review; my intentions are to be factual, fair, and honest. On one side, it's purely GoCamp customer care which has me baffled, upset and frustrated with their admittedly made mistake, and still! making me pay for their mistake, (and Cassie the owner's lack of communication on said charge when she told me she would talk to GoCamp. She must have talked with them, however didn't discuss with me prior to charging me. Integrity on both GoCamp and the owner Cassie's shoulders is clearly lacking. I planned this trip for months. I dreamed of taking a van out, having some peace and quiet to be in nature, and once I saved enough, I bit the bullet and made it happen. I was so excited! It was great to have the comforts of an auxiliary heater, sink, and propane double-burner unit. Overall though, I am more than disappointed with the way this transaction was handled. Here's the scuttlebutt: The experience of Beluga, the trip, what I did was amazing, and I would recommend anyone who likes to camp, to go do this whole camper/sleeper van thing, however, due to the customer service side, I would _not_ recommend gocamp.com or their sister site outdoorsy.com. They have inconspicuous fees that you will be charged even when they admit they made a mistake. I asked Cassie (the owner) why I'd be charged, and she said she was going to talk with them, then next thing I know I was charged! She didn't have the common courtesy to give me a call to discuss or negotiate. I gave GoCamp a call and spoke with Deborah. I gave her plenty of opportunity to rectify this situation even when she willing admitted they made the mistake. Yet she still didn't waive the unreasonable pet charge even though it wasn't listed in the description of the van I rented, in the rental agreement, or spoken about when I rented the van. Horse poop. I will not be recommending renting from their company. The money they demanded was worth it to her/the company to leave me with a terrible taste in my mouth, and loose a customer who would have probably been a lifetime client. Geez, Louise! Still settling back in after an EPIC long weekend in the Roadhouse! We went up to Walla Walla to attend the Huichica music festival. We camped in a field with about 20 other van campers and our van was the coolest! It was so fun to hang out with everyone-we made a little living room outside our van under the awning and hung string lights and a silk lantern we got in Vietnam last year. It was great to pop back to the van for a drink or a snack between sets of the show. And how cozy it was to sleep in! Seriously wayyyyyyyy better than a tent! And coffee first thing in the morning was easy-peasy to fire up. The van itself had everything we could have wanted (including a little toilet!). We are totally sold on the camper van life. we had the rooftop tent. it was very easy to set up and take down. the people we communicated with at gocamp (eric and deborah) were both very easy to get in touch with and super accommodating. even let us borrow extra camping supplies that were not on the list of things the camper already comes with. just a nice experience overall.
