Getting renewed at Renu... I came here one day because I was early for my nail appointment and decided to tame my caterpillars since they've been in hibernation, just growing in a cocoon of my own making, all pandemic long. It was empty, as it was early on a weekday. I came to this location once, years ago, because they also have another location in Yonkers that I frequented and I always loved their work. I never returned after that one time because of a bad experience but I decided to try again because I was sure there would be someone different doing the threading. I'm glad I did. There was only one person working and she took me immediately. I asked her to just clean up my brows and she did it very quickly. You almost think that she's not really taking care to shape your brows because of how quickly she works but I have been here three times so far, and every time I have been lucky enough to have her work on me and I've been happy with the results each time. I will ask her name the next time I go so that I can include it in this review. My brows have been super bushy and I'm not mad at them. I'm kind of happy that the pandemic allowed me to give them a rest and let them grow out because the shape looks way better now, more full and clean, especially after my threading. I have yet to get a tint because I have something at home that I use to tint my own brows and it's more economical but they do offer tinting. I think the next time I go I will also have them do my lip (I don't have a stache) because I love having smooth skin there for makeup application, despite not really wearing makeup much anymore lol Obviously, weekdays in the daytime, they're pretty empty so that's liekly the best time to go. I love getting my eyebrows done here. In and out in less than 10 minutes with perfect brows. For a girl on the go that definitely helps!

I loved this place 2 years ago. The woman was thorough, took her time, cleaned everything well. However, the last time I went I showed her a photo of the shaping and she botched my brows so bad and made them so thin. Just...no. Came here on a whim as I had some time to spare on a Saturday and needed some eyebrow cleanup. I was put off by the woman leaning on me heaviliy who did the threading which was doing followed by her not asking me what I wanted to begin with. It was relatively quick, but unlike other places I'e been to, she did not take the time to clean up and stray hairs, did not give me a mirror to look at afterwards ,and barely moisturized the areas she worked on. When paying the woman, who was not the person who did my eyebrows, asked me if I wanted "change or what?" on a $20 bill for a service that was $10. Yes, you better believe I want change back. Entered at 3:08pm and she was "finished" threading my eyebrows at 3:11pm. She didn't touch the area between my brows, and when I asked her, "did you do here?" she said "I did that" and hurried me along. An incredibly rushed job and will never return read more

It's always something with this place. I have been coming here for a little over a year and in the last year I've sat in every single chair plus the owners and they've each messed up my eyebrows. I show them a picture of what I want my brows to look like each time and they say they understand them do there own thing. Terrible customer service as well when you're expected to pay full price for a botched service. I have naturally thick brows everytime I leave here they are thin with high arch and no ends that I NEVER requested. I always say light cleaning no shape it's like they don't comprehend words or images. need better staff or at least an owner that holds her staff accountable. read more

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT GO HERE! I've never had someone be so careless with my eyebrows. I go here from time to time when my usual place is closed and they never get them how I want no matter who I go to. The place was empty and the girl STILL rushed through the job. I'm not sure what her name is but she's the shorter girl. I told her I just wanted a clean up, nothing crazy. My eyebrows didn't need too much work but because I leave for vacation and decided to get a little touch up on them. Both brows look entirely different!!! I still paid but I didn't leave a tip. Literally sat in my car and cried for 15 min from how awful she left my right eyebrow. Hoping the hair on that brow grows back as that area of my eyebrow had never been threaded/plucked before . I've come to this place twice before. And thought it was a little on the expensive side, nonetheless it was close by so I decided to visit again today. She ended up cutting my skin in three places and disregarded the cuts as she rushed me out of the store. I had an active bleed so I was able to at least get some tissue at the end. She charged me full price and didn't apologize. Would not return, my eyebrows are so irritated now. See attached pics. read more

Nevvvvvver go here for waxing. It is not clean. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a waxing license. It is the WORST waxing experience I've ever had. She left a TON of hair behind. It took a super long time and was so so painful. I honestly asked her if she's done this before. She double dipped the wax and reused strips. I must have said at least 5 times that the wax was too hot. She would blow on it one or two times and then resume scalding me.There were wax stains and other peoples hairs all over the bed. She had me hold my skin to keep things tight (which I'm totally happy to do) but my hands are now covered in wax and sticky hair. I've been waxing for about 10 years and have been to some questionable places - but this was truly horrific. I strongly do not recommend. Also - she immediately walked out and started threading someone's eyebrows - no hand washing. Just fyi. read more

I can only comment on the eyebrow threading service by Nisha. It was fantastic! I've had my eyebrows threaded for almost 20 years now, and the result was great (not perfect, but waaaaaaay better than several other places I've been) and SO fast. I will definitely be back again. It's not the rock bottom cheapest threading available, but definitely worth the price. read more

Just wrnt on Monday, November 21,2022, to get some lashes, and it turned into a nightmare. I've gotten my lashes done there before with no problem, but perhaps it was the tech and the type of glue they use now. When shedirst started the lashes (which should have been a red flag ro me) SHE DID NOT HOKD UP MY EYELID LIKE SHE SHOULD HAVE TO PREVENT the adhesive from getting INTO MY EYES. I did not feel anything. However, 2 days later, I noticed my eyes were looking glossy. When I woke up on Thursday my eyes were gooky and stuck together when i had woken up however they were not pink. I decide then to use coconut oil to remove the lashes and see what will happen.Perhaps it's a reaction to thr adhesive. My eyes continued getting gooky so I decided to go to urgent care for fear if I go to sleep I won't be able to open them. I am being treated for pink eye and hoping that's all it is. I was told to follow up with an eye doctor if it did not get better.I just wanted to look nice for thr holidays. Go to professionals if you can. I have very unruly eyebrows, so I am usually really dissatisfied with a lot of threading places. I was a little nervous trying a place outside of the city, but they did a really good job. I didn't have to tell her to go back and work on certain parts. And I was in and out in minutes. I will definitely come back here again. read more

I used to like this place but the lady that works here has lately been slacking. Not doing brows as she used to and rushes to finish even when there aren't any other customers. Eyebrows with totally different shapes, total turn down. Have to wait months to grow them back in so au can go elsewhere. read more

Why does this place only have 3 stars? I just went to get my eyebrows threaded and I found my place for life!!!!!!!!! The were perfect and she was so sweet even though my eyebrows are very sensitive and i move, yelp, sweat, and bleed. They hurt the least out of everyone I've ever been and im hooked! I've been coming here for years but the quality of the staff has really gone down. Today I got my legs waxed and the woman was rushing like no other (for what? No other customers were there), so sloppy with wax all over me, and left patches of hair everywhere that I had to point out to her after she thought she was done. There are a few other ladies who are equally bad also. Not sure if they are not adequately trained or this is just how they are. I've been coming to this place for about 3 years now & the service has just been going downhill. My most recent visit is what motivated me to write this review. I hadn't gotten my eyebrows done in about a month, so yes they were very grown out. However, I just asked to clean them up as I always do. But she proceeded to clean them up & shape them. Ok. The shape doesn't look terrible, just not what I'm used to. So I said something & the skinny lady in the last chair proceeded to get an attitude, saying she has seen my eyebrows thinner than this, which they NEVER have been thin or else I would've stopped coming here a long time ago. They are also very uneven. She proceeded to give more excuses by saying they were too overgrown, which does not seem like a valid excuse to give me a shape & thin them. I have her the money, which she snatched out of my hand. I will never return & the only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the poor other women that work there are very nice. Not sure what is wrong with this lady, but she has only been there a year & she doesn't seem to be the type of employee Renu needs. read more
