Updating, as my last three visits were not the best. The business suggests you use their online booking system but don't honor it. I began coming here by chance and was so extremely happy with the level of detail the nail tech showed. When I initially came in, I had only a picture and an idea of what I wanted. She made my vision come to life and was through, neat and took pride in her work. She was perfect, soft spoken and did not make me feel as though she was trying to upsell. Since that first visit, I've requested her as my tech through their online booking system but was never given an opportunity to work with her again, but once. I started waxing services and every time I would request this particular tech. This is an option on their website so I assumed they kept track. I made an appointment five days in advance and received a call on the day of, requesting that I arrive an hour before my appointment, which would have been an hour after the call I received. I declined. When I got to the salon, I heard another woman telling someone that she was also asked to come in earlier for her appointment because they over-booked. I figured that was a one-off and let it go. The next visit I made my appointment online and requested the tech. When I arrived, I stated that I had an appointment with a specific person and was told to wait in the private room. Someone named Laura did the waxing service. I did not object but I should have. It was not good at all. She was rough when applying the wax. She was not thorough and did not do my entire lower leg. She did my pedi as well and was very aggressive with the upsell, despite my agreeing to an additional 10-minute massage . When I come to the nail salon, I am coming to treat myself and relax, not be pressured to buy more things. On my last visit, I arrived and stated upfront that I had an appointment with the tech. They just had me go into the private room and some other person came in. Again, I went along with it. She was more gentle than the previous uncomfortable wax service I had, although, she did not wax my entire lower leg. Yet another perosn started my pedi and I finally got fed up and said that I made my appointment with a different nail tech. The tech in question heard me say this (she was doing a pedicure on a woman at the next station) and looked up. Someone came up to me and said that I would need to call to request a specific tech. I stated that this was the thirs time and no one ever told me this before. The tech doing my pedi must have been new because she missed steps. I initially wanted gel but changed my mind and got a regular pedi because I was not about to spend more money on a service and not be happy with the results. At the end of my appointment, they pressured me to give more of a tip then I deemed appropriate. Like, who does that? A tip is an added gesture, based upon the kind of service provided. If you have to be reminded to do steps of a service, or you fail to provide all of the steps of a service, why would you think you're deserving of extra money? Yesterday I attempted to call in for my next appointment, as suggested. The person who answered was having a hard time hearing me, I assume. I was literally screaming into my phone, asking for a pedi, underarm and leg wax, for the following week. I requested the tech I am comfortable with, and was told she does not do pedicures. Remember, she has done my pedi before, and she was doing a pedi on a woman next to me, during my last visit. I found this odd but let it go. She confirmed my appointment and then I asked who would be doing the waxing. She did not even listen to me. She asked if I wanted to add on the waxing. I told her I said that from the beginning. She confirmed and I again asked who would be doing it, mainly because I did not want that same person that caused me unnecessary pain when she was applying the wax. The woman obviously did not understand me. She had an attitude during the entire phone call and told me she doesn't know who would do it. That's when I got frustrated and just told her to cancel the whole thing and that I will schedule the appointment myself, on their website. Side note: I'm not making another appointment. As you all know based upon my reviews, I love consistency. Consistency is the key to happy, repeat customers. I expect the same treatment on day 1 as on day 101. I don't ask for much. I just want the service I'm paying for and to be treated with dignity, respect and care. Obviously, there needs to be flexibility on both sides but I gave them multiple chances to make it right and this just isn't it. I told so many people about this salon based on my first could of visits but I've had more bad visits than good so now it's time to part ways. Currently looking for a new waxing spot, preferably with bomb nail services in the Northeast Bronx/Southern Westchester areas. Please DM me with any suggestions. I really want to love this place because the location is convenient for me and I love their online booking/payment system but I just can't go here anymore as they just don't do a good job. They also have you book appointments with specific nail techs, but they never match who you actually get for your appointment - so even if you find a nail tech you love - there's no way to guarantee you will get them. Never ever will I ever go here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone... A week ago I got new set tips with gel and gel pedicure.. my nails still look good but 5 if my tips are separated from the gel, 1 tip broke leaving the gel on top in tact, this only after 1 week of getting a new set... In over 20 years of getting my nails done never has this ever happened with even nails that were much, much cheaper with scrolling or gel overlay.. I was googling around since I moved here from Florida & came across 2 Sisters Nail Spa. I ran over to Instagram for more pics and decided all of the great reviews and beautiful pics were enough for me to book. When I tried to book on their website i kept hitting a glitch so I messaged them on IG and they were super responsive, answered all of my questions with superior customer service, sent me a item/price menu and let me know there was a plumbing issue and that's why the bookings were closed. I asked if they might be open the next day and they confirmed shortly thereafter that the issue had been resolved and then booked my appointment for me right there from our DM. Soon after I got a text message confirming my appointment! Day of my appointment I walked in, I was welcomed and greeted by name! COVID protocols IN PLACE!!! (Signing covid waiver, temperature checked, hand sanitizer & a light misting to stop the spread of germs). I was really impressed with the amount of SNS & Perfect Match dip powders available. The removal of my previous nail dip went flawlessly and the new dip came out beautiful. Trying a new nail salon can be really anxiety inducing because you never really know what you're gonna get till you're there. I had previously gone to another salon in the city that ruined my nails and left me traumatized because of the over-filing that went all the way to my nail bed and left me with painful damaged nails but, NOT here! Highly, highly recommend this nail salon for UV Nails!! I've been living in the area for almost 2 years and just now found a salon that delivers EXACTLY what I'm looking for. If you show them a picture of a nail shape and/or design, they will do your nails as identical as you can get. Cindy's attention to detail is top notch and she listens to my every request. She takes her time and is very gentle with the tools (especially the electric sander, which I get anxiety from due to past salon experiences). I haven't done any of their other services but by the volume of customers always there, I'm sure their pedicures and whatnot are great as well. They lightly spray you with a light mist of sanitizer. To disinfect your clothes. They also spray the chair and everything around that is touched my clients. They also take your temperature and have you sign a safety waiver. Appreciated it tremendously and everyone wears a mask. I went on a Sunday at 11 am, they squeezed me in as a walk-in. I tried to do an appointment on the website but it did not work. They had a lot of colors to pick since I am currently only doing SNS. LOVED that they have all the prices up on the website. Not sure why other nail salons always hide their prices for services. The salon was not full and if felt very relaxing w the calm music they had in the background. She nail lady took her time and made sure everything was perfect and met my needs. She made sure to ask me if I wanted square or circular which some ladies forget or assume. Horrible service! I went to get a pedicure and when I said I didn't want the machine to be used on my toes I was told it was needed for the gel pedicure. She then with an attitude grabs my foot and starts to work on it roughly. She also rushed through the service and cuts me. I don't understand why she was so mad about me not opting for the gel pedicure. To my understanding the client has a choice on the service they would like. When I go and pay I'm asked if I would like to leave tip on the card and I say no. Then I'm asked if I'll be leaving tip in cash and I say no. Then I'm asked why and I respond that I'm not satisfied with the service and that I didn't like the way the lady provided the service. A second lady jumps in trying to lecture me that I'm suppose to leave 15-20% in tip. I then tell her that I'm aware of the tipping protocol. And that I always leave tip but this time I'm not--simply because I'm not satisfied. Management should be more occupied with finding out why a client is not satisfied rather than solely focusing on tip. First, booking is super easy on their website and you can pay in advance to expedite your time checking out there or you can even dm on Instagram. They do an amazing job on my UV hard gel and have done any and all designs requested beautifully. Have also gotten a massage here and it was excellent. Came here a couple of times and noticed the quality slowly deteriorating but gave them another try. Boy did I learn my lesson- first and foremost, expect for your tech to be busy answering the phone 80% of the time while they work on your nails. Then forget about having strong healthy nails after doing gel or sns here, they literally buff and butcher your poor nail beds till their tissue thin. They've also become very lazy and the last time I visited they skipped the base coat powder for my nails and when I mentioned it I was just dismissed and ignored. And lastly, the dip manicure barely lasted me a whole week before the color chipped and my nails broke off. It took over a month for my nails to recover and grow out to healthy nails again. Gave this place several opportunities & have never been satisfied. Came here initially for mani & pedis with my mother. Although nice upon entry, I got sprayed down with a sanitizer gun. As a health care professional this does nothing. Especially when my LEATHER bag was SOAKED with the stuff instead of my body. I was NOT happy about my mani. It was super rushed & legit took less than 10 minutes. Cuticles were left uncut, and the nail polish needed another coat. You could literally see transparent unpolished parts on my nails like the ring finger (picture attached). My pedi was alright but I was charged to remove my previous very old gel nail polish when I barely had any on. They didnt even have to soak it. It was buffed right out. Anyways, literally TWO DAYS later my nails were horribly chipping. I have NEVER received a mani with basic polish that chipped and scratched so easily & quickly. I hadn't even left my house or done dishes. I paid for a very expensive pedi service & my mom's pedi was horrible. They barely did the callous removal which was the whole purpose of the pedi. Despite this, I returned to have my eyebrow waxed. HORRIBLE. Barely any time was spent on my eyebrows and she butchered the shape I had worked so hard to have over the past two years. I got UV Gel extensions for the first time last Monday (2/27) and specifically asked for a natural look, and even showed a reference photo. During the service I commented on the amount of gel and asked if it was going to be filed down. I was told "yes". Unfortunately I am not pleased with the appearance of my $75 (+ $14 tip) nails. They feel more like claws than anything else because they curve in a way that DOES NOT LOOK NATURAL. Also the amount of gel on each nail is TOO MUCH, so it adds to the curvy appearance. I just called them because last week I was so busy with school that I wasn't able to go back to get it fixed. They told me it's been over a week, so I'm not eligible to come on for a "free fix". I explained that I was really busy with work and that's why I'm calling now (a week to the date of the original service). They said that I can come back for a $50 get refill. I said, well, today marks one week, so I'm not due for a refill just yet. They said the best they can offer is a $32 gel refill, where they will remove the gel, reapply gel/fix the shape and shorten the nails. This seems really unfair honestly, especially because I stressed how much I wanted these to look natural at my first appointment. Update: I went back for my appointment this afternoon and they made such a scene about wanting the UV Gel thinner. One of the women came over and said "well just take everything off then." I spent close to 40 minutes hearing Cindy grumbling about this UV Gel. So off-putting, especially because I specifically booked her for my first appointment because of the great reviews I read on her here on Yelp. She was not pleased that I wanted them shorter and thinned down. With all that grumbling she did you would think they were giving this to me for free! But when she was done she walked over to the checkout and told me $32. I tipped $3 because I was fed up. Honestly I didn't feel like tipping anything at this point and don't plan on returning. Shame because I'm fairly new to the neighborhood and this is just a block away! Read great reviews on their powder dip service so I thought I would give them a try as I am new to the neighborhood. I think they paired me with the least experienced person in the salon. She didn't understand anything I requested, cut my nails too short then filed them all leaning to the left. I had to interrupt the lady on the table next to us to have her communicate what I was asking for. She stopped working on her client to quickly file my nails into the shape I originally asked for. During this process she filed one of my fingers until it bled. The end result was just OK - the final nail bed shaping was thick and inconsistent. Note for any prospective clients - they do not soak or soften your cuticles before they hack them off (painful) & they do not do a layer of gel to finish them off. I really wanted this to be my new go-to salon. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Update: a week later they chipped from the top. After being a customer for almost two years- I WON'T be back. This is the final straw.- I was running 15 minutes late (they're sticklers for time, I get it- but life happens, I'm a working mom) anywho, I let them know that I was running late. They explained that they could only provide me with one service instead of two because of other appts. I was okay with that. A customer called explaining that they'd arrive in thirty minutes and they told her "30 minutes, no problem, we are here waiting for you." They pick and choose who to provide "good and accommodating service to" (that's all that I will say about that.) I'm a good customer. My money is green like everyone else's and I tip well. Some manicurists are better than others. I like that the place is clean and relaxing but I don't always get consistently good quality service I always show a good face and tip well (I know what it is like working in the service industry) This is not the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time I've experienced this type of service. At my last appointment about 2 weeks prior, I was 15 minutes early. I requested to have my pedicure done first- it makes sense. They explained that the pedicurist was not ready. They took others while my manicure was being done. I noticed they took a customer during my slot for my pedicure. I would have had to wait approximately 20 minutes because the other customers being serviced were just being started as well. I just could not wait this time. - I did not make a big deal. But this just references the inconsistencies with them (and there are many) I have other frustrations- nails breaking and chipping in less than 48 hours, exceptions being made for others, and so on. Let me tell y'all, I have not set foot in a nail salón in over a year due to Covid, but after reading such favorable reviews which detailed great service and safety measures, I booked my appointment time online, and was pleasantly y surprised to see a menu of services with prices, and the offer to pay online, great contactless option. Upon arriving at the salón I was greeted and asked to fill out a questionnaire which included info for tracing. I was told to sanitize my hands and I myself was sprayed as well, and temperature taken. All nail techs were double masked and cleaned and sanitized every station once a client's services were complete.The environment was so calm and soothing. The nail tech did an amazing job. I was told mid applying the tips-- if you want a design you must decide if you want a pedicure or design bc they close at 7 and don't have time to do both. The pedi I had from the male nail tech was great, but BRING CASH! The job was well done, shaped and painted nicely, and he even did paraffin on the heel as part of my gel pedi. But the payment process was an absolute nightmare. I have never seen a place that accepts apple pay, but it magically doesn't show on their weird system that i paid. I called my bank and looked on the pnc app to see the $45 (w/ tip & tax total) was IN FACT subtracted from my account. So i still wonder where the money magically went. The lady didn't seem to understand that and kept showing me that their system didn't process is somehow. Had to literally pay the 2nd time with my card, then report to the bank right after that they double charged me. They were still mostly professional during the process, but it's so embarrassing and trashy on their part (unless it's a genuine system malfunction). I used this nail salon every month during 2021 with the same nail technician who was really nice and listened to what I wanted and took her time to make sure my nails were perfect before I left. The manicures were beautifully done and lasted for the entire month. I travel for work and have been out of the country until recently so when I went back today to get my nails done (first time this year), I was shocked at the attitude of the lady who was doing my nails (different technician than in 2021). In order to do a powder manicure, they need to use a drill. I have very sensitive nail beds and the metal drill bits cause me a lot of pain. The really nice technician from 2021 knew this and would always use a rubber / plastic drill tip so that I could have a powder manicure without any discomfort. Today when I asked for the drill bit to be changed from the metal bit to the rubber / plastic drill bit, I was told that they didn't have them. I explained that the metal drill bit hurt my nails and that my regular technician (from 2021) always used the rubber/plastic drill bit but the technician today said that wasn't true as all the technicians always used the metal drill tips. She then proceeded to tell me that I could not get a powder or gel manicure without using a drill and that I would just have to get a regular manicure. I was so upset as it is my birthday and I wanted to have my nails done. I asked her to use the nail file and to give me a gel manicure as I've being having my nails done for years and I know that they can do a gel manicure without the use of the drill which she begrudgingly did. My whole appointment was just rushed through. Their service was no where near what it was back in 2021. I will not go back and will be looking to find a different nail salon where the nail technicians listen and are open to trying to make the experience a pleasurable one considering the price that you pay for your nails. read more
