This is my personal experience: July 9, 2021 Signed Swimming pool Installation Contract with an approximate start date listed by Renu Pools as November 1, 2021 with an 8 to 10 week time frame. October 5, 2021 We were told "looking at the end of November before we can start" February 17, 2022 Construction on pool started with a timeline per "Renu's paperwork Rules, Regulations, and what to expect" of 8 to 10 weeks. April 11, 2022 Long plumbing and tile work done. April 18, 2022 we were told our pool should be completed mid May to the end of May. April 27, 2022 backfilled the plumbing. May 3, 2022 told us working to get the pool finished by the end of the month. May 4, 2022 Deck bonding May 25, 2022 Concrete decking formed June 10, 2022 Concrete decking poured. June 20, 2022 Physically went to Renu's office since they would not reply to emails, hand delivered letters or phone calls for the schedule for our pool. Stephanie's reply was "I don't know, you tell me?" Stephanie became furious and yelled at me and stated she is tired of telling me the same thing over and over again and accused me of having people harass her daughter on Facebook. I followed up this visit with an email of the account of all that happened and what was said stating "neither myself or my wife WOULD NEVER, EVER OR HAVE WE EVER ASKED ANYONE TO CALL, MESSAGE OR HARASS YOU OR YOUR DAUGHTER!!" We asked for proof of that because that was absolutely ridiculous and not true. I continued in my email to say "We continue to be disappointed in the lack or progress, communication and our pool being completed. When we signed our contract it stated the pool would take 8 to 10 weeks. In two days we will be on week 18 and still in need of plaster, waterfall, pool equipment installed and running. In good faith and trust we have paid you $41,070.20 with a balance of $365.00. At the very least, you could keep us updated weekly as well as respond to correspondence when sent...we received no response to that email." August 5, 2022 Pool plastered August 7, 2022 We were threatened Renu would sue us for slander if one more person commented that our pool was taking 9 months to complete. I responded "I have never said our pool has taken 9 months to complete. I have never said your name in any pictures I've posted. I've never asked or encouraged anyone to comment/post anything on your page"....we received no response to that email. The worst part of this was not receiving a reply to our emails and phone calls for updates to know where we were in the process. The lack of communication was frustrating and made us question if they would finish our pool. As of this post they still owe me a hose for cleaning the pool and a shovel I'm hoping was taken by mistake. read more

I am having the same issue as everyone else, must sign paperwork or they refuse to finish the job because I pumped out water after the hurricane even though they asked me to keep the water out while they did the tile. Had to sign a paper saying that I will pay for what ever it takes to fix the pool or they will not come back out. They don't even know if there was anything wrong with it. I agreed to sign the paper minus the give us a blank check part; they have not responded at all. The shell is in, dirt and debris fill my back yard. One excuse after the other not to remove the dirt. There are numerous lawsuits against Renu when you check the Horry County look up website. Wish I saw this before we signed. When we signed the contract they wanted $16,750 down; I asked why so much; they said because of the supply chain issues they are ordering and purchasing all the equipment so they have it for the install. I reluctantly gave them a check and then another check for $16,750 when they started the job and another check for $8,375 after the shell was shot and then another check for $5,025 was mailed (we were on vacation) which they said they never received good thing for that and a stop payment was placed it it. At first look you may think it is a civil issue and good luck getting anything out of them BUT since I gave the check to them for the equipment and they were suppose us that to purchase the equipment the property was placed in the position of trust; if they withhold that from me since it is over $10,000 it is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in jail. See BREACH OF TRUST WITH FRAUDULENT INTENT SC 16-13-230. I am also feeling as if I was being extorted sign this paper or we don't finish. What helps is it appears that he does this to everyone and it is not an isolated incident further helping the fraud intent issue. I suggest everyone else look into this and go to the Myrtle Beach Police if this is what happed to you and post here also if they told you the initial deposit was to buy equipment and you never got the equipment. One star because, 0 is not an option. Terrible service, also threatened and forced us to sign paper and pay additional fees outside of paid contract. Was told they would not complete my pool, that had been paid for in full, if additional costs not paid. They would recommend add ons needed, stated it wouldn't cost much, no numbers given, and then charged thousands, and held pool hostage. Stephanie was disrespectful, rude, un-professional and provided the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. Do not recommend anyone using their services. read more

He completely conned me. He's very smooth, seems trusting, sympathetic and he and his family seemed like new friends But he ended up stealing $32,000.00 from me and countless others. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Emails that came from the owners were rude and condescending, especially when we asked questions. Although we have paid approximately $37,000 and only owe $1,500 to completely pay what is owed, they have refused to complete our pool for baseless, unfair reasons and stated our warranty has been voided. They refuse to talk with us to try to come to any sort of agreement unless we sign more paperwork stating we agree to pay any expenses they deem necessary to finish pool. We have already paid them over $5,500 more than the contracted price due to things they deemed necessary. And when we asked if we could at least get all the equipment we have paid for, they would not give it to us. When we went to their business, the receptionist got up and ran to the back of the office and would not answer phone or come to the door. The door was locked even though the Open sign was showing. We are having to finish our pool ourselves. They haven't poured the cement deck, plastered inside the pool, installed light, railing, ladder or installed pump, filter and salt system. read more

I waited until my pool was completely installed before writing this review because I want to be complete honest about my whole experience. For what was suppose to be a 6 week job it turned into a almost 4 month job! I heard the weather excuse so many times it was ridiculous. Yes there were some weather delays but honestly I think the company took more work than Michael could handle and couldnt keep up. The communication about progress was ZERO unless I initiated it and I didn't always get a response from Michael and would contact him again and be made to feel like I was inconveniencing him. Let me tell you when that next draw needed to be paid he was right on time. The employees tore more of my yard up than was necessary and not to mention I have 2 dogs that I had to deal with being in mud for not 6 weeks.. but 4 months. Of course he didn't care about my issues. Talking to Michael is like talking to a brick wall. The company mentality is "it will get done when it gets done" Now I dont have many complaints as far as quality is concerned. I have a couple but honestly not worth me having to deal with him again!! The reason for 3 stars is for quality. If it wasn't for that it would have been 1 star. Communication is so important and the worst thing a business can do when a customer comes with concerns/issues is make excuses and continue to conduct business the same way.
