The laptop lasted about 5 more months after the accident. They warned me that once liquid is inside the computer that it would eventually die, but I was surprised at how long it lasted before finally shuffling off its mortal coil. I was unfortunate enough to spill sparkling raspberry juice on my laptop the other day. It went all over the keyboard, dripped down onto the table, and even seeped under my computer. I left my laptop upside-down and open (in a ^ shape) on a towel to drip the excess liquid for 3 days before calling K D Engineering. He suggested I should have brought it in sooner, but with his experience with all kinds of liquid spills he was confident he could still help. After bringing it in, he opened up the computer and cleaned away any dried juice with an alcohol cleanser, which solved 99% of my problems. For the last 1% he noticed a broken piece of plastic in my computer that was the cause of my other usb port not working for years! He had my computer back in working shape in a matter of a 2 days and I am very happy with the results! When discussing the price, they were more than reasonable. They also were careful to make sure I was comfortable with the quoted amount and I definitely felt I was given a fair price. I called Michael and explained our problem. He recommended a particular router, which I found on sale through Amazon. When the new router arrived, I called Michael and he came to our house the next day and helped me set up and configure the new router. Took about 40 minutes. The new router works great and is a big improvement over what we had. And the total cost was much less than I had anticipated. We're very happy.
