The staff are quite friendly and helpful. The animals are plentiful. Education and sights can be exciting, if you're not too keen on walking the park, they do offer guided tours on little shuttle buses or even private tours. The lines for certain animals can be long but they move rather quickly. There's a few shady spots and plenty of seats throughout the park. One thing I don't recommend is if you require a walker, there are a lot of hilly areas while walking the park. Lots of little dining areas and cute merch to buy to support the animals as well! You can easily bring your own food and drinks; they also have bottle refill stations for water. Make sure to check out park ticket deals on Groupon, through your work place, or online to ensure you get the best deal for you.

If you are lucky, you may find free parking in the surrounding areas, but honestly, parking can be difficult, especially on busy days. What I like most about Balboa Park is that you don't need to visit all the museums to enjoy this place. You can simply walk around, enjoy the gardens, take pictures, and relax. One thing to keep in mind is that the park is very large. If you don't plan ahead, you may end up walking more than expected. But that is also what makes this place special , every visit gives you a chance to see something different.

He was yelling "with the bag!" When it was my boyfriend's turn to go through security, he proceeded through the metal detector as instructed. During the screening process, Marcos continued to speak to my husband in a disrespectful and confrontational manner. Yelling come on come on! I attempted to address the situation and communicate with him, but Marcos responded in a manner that I found completely unacceptable for someone working in a customer-facing position. At one point, Marcos stated words to the effect of "I don't give a f*"** when my boyfriend was attempting to speak with him. I was extremely disappointed and uncomfortable witnessing an employee speak to a guest this way. He said you can talk to manager she's right there I also attempted to address the situation and was told that the matter could be reported. I felt that the employee's behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and inconsistent with the level of customer service I would expect from SeaWorld. I am submitting this report because I believe the incident should be reviewed by management. Guests should be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of the circumstances. I hope SeaWorld will investigate this incident and take appropriate action to ensure that guests are treated professionally by all employees, particularly employees responsible for security and the first interaction guests have when entering the park.

We thought they had a great selection of sea life to view. They had several different types of Jelly fish & several different species of Sea horses. I absolutely loved seeing the Sea Kelp Dragons, they are so cool to see. The bathrooms were clean, the gift shop was nice, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly. Another huge plus is the discounted admission for WIC or CalFresh families, and they offer discounted memberships for up to four people. Located in Del Mar near the festival, if your eyes are peeled open, it can be quite easy to miss. There's a few parking spots available. I came at 10am to see if I can register and walk in right away. They told me to come back at 11am. So I went across the street for a drink and then returned. It was a neat experience. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). Memberships are available if interested.
