Saturday afternoon, we went to the Seattle Center to see a play. Unfamiliar with the area, we pulled into the public parking lot by the Memorial Stadium, paid $20 for parking, and then returned less than three hours later to find an $80 ticket on our car. Evidently, the yellow tape haphazardly lying on the ground with no signage was intending to mark off half the lot as "restricted." Numerous other cars were also ticketed. Shame on Republic Parking Northwest for taking advantage of naive, out-of-town visitors. read more

If you park in one of their lots make sure you over estimate not underestimate the amount of time you need. Otherwise, add $75 to the the amount you expect to spend to park. I was totally pissed off that unlike other parking platforms, you won't get a text that your time is about to expire and a request for additional funds. They just give you a ticket. DO NOT PARK HERE!! Parked for a 7 day cruise at their parking garage at pier 91. Advertised 24/7 security and a secure parking garage. While on the cruise got a call from Seattle PD that our truck window was smashed, bed cover slashed and all our extra clothes and camping gear stolen. Returned from cruise to find there were at least 6 vehicles robbed just on our floor. There is a gate guard and a guy on a golf cart riding around so how do they not hear or see at least 6 car alarms and windows being busted out? Likely bc it was the people working there that did it. Do not park here!!! This place is a total scam!!! I parked here to take my mom on the Clipper to Victoria for her 70th birthday. It was the designated parking lot for the Clipper. The spots were so small, I couldn't park without damaging the car next to me (or returning to my car being damaged). So, I parked in a remote part of the garage so I could take up a little more than a spot so that my car wouldn't get damaged or I wouldn't damage the car next to me. When we returned to the parking garage, we had a ticket for $45, in addition to the $35 we paid to park. Although I sent a letter to dispute this ticket within 3 days, well within the time allotted, I received a late notice for an additional $25. Unbelievable!!! read more

A den of thieves whose shady business practices rate them as one of the most predatory companies I've been witness to. In short, I parked at a Kirkland office building to see if a client still worked there, turned out to be a Republic controlled lot. You'd never have known except for a small sign obscured by a bush. I wasn't gone but 6-7 minutes before the dude had given me a ticket. I asked him how I was supposed to know this was a charge lot whose only warning is a tiny sign near the ground, but he didn't care and was off to nab another unsuspecting driver. Contacted Republic and sent pictures to the BBB showing the extremely poor signage. Republic has a very poor rating already, so they didn't really care about getting another one and simply threatened legal action if I didn't pay the exorbitant $150 fine. FU Republic! read more

The parking behind North Star Diner in Greenwood/Seattle is a PAID lot managed by the predatory Republic Parking (aka Imperial Parking aka Impark.) Signage indicating that there is a fee is posted behind the first parking spot, which becomes blocked if there is large vehicle parked in that spot. Apparently, this is intentional because within few minutes of exiting the car and entering the diner, my friend's windshield was slapped with a $75 - $100 parking notice. So clearly this small lot has an attendant (who is as invisible as the signage) hunting unsuspecting drivers. Make the world a better place and don't support the ugliness of Impark. I parked in one of their parking lot and their machine was broken so I was not able to pay. I go for a 30 minute run to the store and come back and have 2- 88$ parking tickets. The surprising part is that the address on the ticket does not even match the address of the parking lot!! And there is no option to dispute online so I can explain my reasons And why I do not want to pay for a parking ticket that doesn't even have the right address on it. So frustrating! I've been planning to write a scorching review of Republic Parking for months, after experiencing what others have described here (valet parking only to come back to an empty parking lot and a ticket on my unlocked car). I've called customer service multiple times and kept getting empty promises that someone would call me back. But today, Aseem in customer service made it right by reducing the ticket price to what the posted cost of parking should have been. Terrible scam business practices. Can be noticed with no oversight to pay 10x posted amount (if posted) for parking in an unkempt and sketchy lot with unpainted spot numbers to even pay. Then if you call their customer service they offer a $10 reduction off a $90 ticket for less than 2 hours then threaten to send your forced new debt to collections. Oh yeah, this is regardless if you already payed or not. I call that Theft! You know a company has rubbed you the wrong way when you are now prepared for all future trips to never use their services again and compelled to warn others. To add context, this isn't just from a bad experience, it's the idea of to make no effort at resolving a customer issue when the issue is theft of money. read more

No sense of customer service, gives merchants they serve bad PR and poor presentation. I encourage their merchants to discuss their customer service with them, or drop them altogether. I am sure there are better companies out there who actually work with your branding. I have no issue with the prices they charge, they provide a service, the market can decide whether it wants to pay it or not. However, their presentation and service were both awful. I was at McCormick and Schmick's Harborside on Lake Union, and their parking is managed by Republic with entry and exit gates. It was dark at night and my parking was validated (longer story later). Back at the car, there was a "ticket" telling me that there was a "Parking Due" on the back for $13,50. Note that I took an automated ticket, and was parked there properly. I have only been there for an hour or so, and have NOT had the chance to pay at the exit gate or anywhere else (there is no machine to pay either). On the other side of the envelope, there is a sticker telling you to insert the validated parking ticket from the restaurant, place it in the envelope and drop it at the night drop. I did that, following the instruction to the letter. I already found this practice incredibly rude. I haven't even been given a chance to pay at the exit gate and you slapped a ticket on my car? Two weeks later, I got an envelope in the mail from them. Inside, there was the same "Parking due" envelope and the validated ticket from the restaurant. They just mailed it back to me (probably finding my address using the license plate). No letter. No explanation. Someone with very poor penmanship wrote in red "mail to!" on the envelope. I was dumbfounded. And red is a rather offensive color. Mail what?! After a call to the friendly folks at McCormick & Schmick's, it turned out, that in the dark, it was impossible to see that the validation was not for "free parking for four hours" (I could only see the "four hours" part even in bright light). It was a discounted fee of $3 for four hours. You know, I would have been ok with paying $3 for parking. The bill at the restaurant was many times that, so it is just change, not even a latté. But the way it was communicated was poor, rude, and without any regards to the clients and customers. First, I did not owe $13,50 for parking, since I was not even presented with an opportunity to pay (at the exit gate, which was then unmanned). The notice on the envelope was poorly written, how on Earth would any one know the specific arrangements they have with each specific merchant? If the sticker says "place your blue ticket with paid parking receipt from McCormick's inside this envelope. Please deposit same (sic) in the night drop Slot (sic) at the exit booth." it is not obvious to see that there would be payment owed, especially in the dark. Validated parking in most places is free parking for X hours. If you want to take money, write it down so others can read it. All you need to do is writing "please place the validated ticket WITH PAYMENT in the envelope". And for this company to simply send back an envelope without any explanation, letter but someone using red pen writing "mail to!" like he/she is talking to a child, is just rude, and class-less. Learn some basic manners and develop a little bit of human sensitivity, managers at Republic Parking. Learn to write proper English and communicate what your customers should do to PAY YOU. I was happy to pay you, but now I am extremely unhappy with your company. Your website said "Your parking experience is important to us." If you truly are concerned, and you are not just talking the talk, think about the receiving end of this experience. Obviously you do not care. You run some parking lots for rather high-end restaurants, and if you want to continue to, behave in a high-end way. If not, you don't belong. Merchants who have hired this peasant-class company to manage their parking lots deserve better PR than this. Otherwise, I encourage the merchants to drop this company and hire someone else. It is not worth tarnishing your reputation and ruining an otherwise pleasant experience at your place. Update: Someone from Republic called me on Thursday, four days after I called regarding the previously mentioned notice. By the time I have already sent them a payment for the discounted price ($3) I was supposed to pay (and again, I really have no problem paying that); today I received a late notice telling me that I owe them $38.50? There are also notice at the bottom that threaten to send to collection. Seriously? You returned the poorly written envelope to me, without any explanation almost two weeks after the fact (over Thanksgiving holiday), which obviously went over the "respond within 15 days" limit. Does this place run on extortion? The fine people at McCormick, though, are going to chat with them. More update later. read more

I guarantee you the only reason they have 1 star reviews is because there isn't something less to choose. I took my disable mother to the glass exhibit in Seattle and was told by a very kind police office that we did not have to pay for public parking as long as she displayed her handicap sign in the window. We found a parking lot that said PUBLIC PARKING and parked in a handicap spot and displayed her sign and the proceeded to come back to a ticket for 76.00 saying failure to display valid receipt. I called and spoke with this company and they refused to drop the ticket even though their signs are misleading as to what is public and what is private. If this is how this company operates i feel sorry for the city of Seattle cause we won't ever visit again. read more

I parked across the street from the Paramount Theatre. I came back 15 minutes latter and got a ticket. It was a Republic Parking lot. I send the $45 ticket fine through the mail the next day. The Republic parking wants me to pay the fine again telling me that they didn't get the money. Now they want $65.00 with the late fee. Can anyone tell me please WHO ISSUES THE PARKING TICKETS FOR THE REPUBLIC PARKING? They are the ones that cashed my check and didn't give it to the Republic parking. It could be a scheme. Do not use this lot, and do not utilize Republic Parking, EVER. You will thank me. This is a cash-only, old school pay lot where no receipts are issued. My husband and I used this lot, paid our fee, then got ticketed. The worst was to follow with the abysmal customer service. When we called about our ticket, my husband was literally hung up on because we didn't have a receipt. They were insisting that we should have been issued a receipt. It was a wooden box and there was no attendant--how do you get a receipt from that? And when my husband insisted to the man on the phone that he wasn't listening to us because it was a non-electronic cash box, he hung up on us. So, we called back and I was on the phone, thinking that a female would illicit more patience. We got a female supervisor on the phone whose first words to me after she took my ticket number were, "you were just on the phone with us, I was sitting right next to the call, so why are you calling back?" Rude, much? I explained to her what the box was (I literally had to break it down for her that it was wood only, no wiring, no electronics, and had no capability to spit out any receipt). Luckily, she deigned to stay on the line long enough to register what I was saying and admitted that they have 2 old school cash boxes left and she was going to check to see if that was one. I told her it was near the Ballard market, and she said, "no, it's by Hattie's restaurant," and I told her that I meant the Ballard *farmer's* market. Oh, did that send her on a tirade to correct me. Even when I told her that I'm not from Ballard (thus I don't give a flying frick about which market is which), she told me to "stop talking" and she continued to explain to me the layout of the area. Yes, she told me to shut up so that she could finish her tangent. Then, I got a lecture about how they can't prove that I paid, and their attendant doesn't make mistakes. Well, obviously they did. So I told her that I was intending to be there for 3 hours, and there was no way I thought I was going to get away with parking there that long without paying. She finally made the ticket go away because, let's face it, she couldn't prove that I paid or not and I had no record with them. Then she proceeded to talk to me like a 3 year old about how it won't be the same next time. I told her to not worry and that I would take video proof of my putting the money in next time. Rudest customer service, ever. They don't listen, and will tell you to stop talking. If you have a problem with them, do NOT take the forceful approach. Let them talk and let them get their jollies off demeaning you because they WILL hang up on you. Avoid Republic Parking like the plague itself. I parked at their Ballard square location. Obviously they had just purchased it and had not yet covered up the old painted stall numbers. I parked in a spot and paid at the machine for the stall number I parked in. I came back to my car about 20min and had a ticket. After calling and explaining to the woman at Repulic, she said she'd look into it and that the ticket would be canceled. A few weeks later I received another notice for the same event! I called and explained again and had the same outcome. Fast forward to applying for a home loan and they had sent it to collections!!!!!!!!!!!!! This company is sketchy and unreliable at best and malicious at worst. This has been a nightmare. If this company had any credibility at all they would not let things like this happen. I bought my $5 parking permit. When I went to leave the garage door was down. I simply lifted up the door and got in. When I went to leave a guy in a tow truck was blocking the exit. He told me it was illegal to open the gate myself. He wanted fucking $40. I showed him my permit. That wasn't good enough. He extorted me to get out my car. Charged me $25 initially to get out of my monthly paid parking facility because of their broken machine and then when I was told it would be handled because I already pay MONTHLY they charged me a late fee and forced me to pay it because of their shady "15 day appeal" policy that was not made clear at all. Only paying it so they don't continue to try and sap money off of me and it's not worth my time to deal with a shady parking company like this one. I should have been more careful get back in time. I feel sorry for the tourists visiting Seattle for the first time who get soaked by this high prices. We received a ticket in the mail stating we owed $50 because we were over our time and failed to pay after our first notice. We called and left a message letting them know we did not get a first notice and didn't know we were over time because our passenger paid and we did not see how much time he paid for. Anyway we started reading all the bad reviews and was already set in our mind we had been had. But a few days later on a holiday they called us back and waived the late fee and just charged us for the time we went over. We were so happy they made it right. What a relief it was! read more

Republic Parking has recently contacted me to attempt to collect a payment for 2 parking fees that were incurred in December 2015 by the new owner of a car I had sold in October of that year. This matter was resolved in early 2016 and there has been no communication from Republic since then. Last week I received a notice that the payment was 40 days late and the amount owed, originally $40, was now $65 on both tickets. This notice was sent over 900 days after the original notice--it's an obvious attempt to defraud. Look up Republic's BBB rating--it should be a warning never to do business with this crooked company. read more

Wow. This company is ridiculous. They have step by step instruction that do no include information about putting your receipt on your window. There is a smaller sticker that says to display it. Mind you, you have already entered your stall number when you pay, so that spot is paid. The penalty for not realizing you need to display your receipt is 7 x the amount of your short parking fee if paid in 7 days, otherwise it is almost 9 x what you already paid. Pulled into Republic Parking Lot and were told they were full. The attendant said "our other lot is 2 blocks down the street and they are open 24/7". Went to that lot and asked attendant, before taking ticket, how late they were open. Three people in the car heard him say "10:00 tonight". Got back to the garage at 9:20 pm to find the garage locked down. Finally got in, found a ticket on the car for $45.00 because we didn't vacate by 9:00 pm. Tried to pay at machine but they don't allow that. You have to call a towing company (for a huge extra charge) to open the door so you can get out of the garage and then mail a check to Republic for $45.00. The Republic garage at U.S. Bank Centre (City Centre) is great. The attendants are pleasant and the garage is clean and secure. I discovered an old (~1month) ticket that my partner rec'd from the same garage. I called the Seattle office and as this was the only notice on file and I could pay over the phone the late-fee was waived. The envelope is actually pretty handy. Republic Parking will gladly let you park in their lot and give you 2 weeks to pay. Some garages / lots won't let the vehicle leave without payment in full. read more
