It was my fault that I didn't remember to put my cans out for pick-up...a serious family situation caused me to have my mind elsewhere then putting the cans, but I now know they could care less, because it was not their problem. I called to explain why and was told that the truck had to come down the street to pick up my garbage. The truck comes down this street every week, because there about 5 blocks of this street. Not sure why I'm paying for a service I didn't get. I guess I should have called and told them, I was going to forget to put the cans out because i was going to have a family emergency. Apparently, this is the only garbage service company in the Albany/Lebanon area. This is called a monopoly to not have other options. Celeste was rude and condescending. Every time I tried to discuss the fact that their truck backs down the street for 5-6 house lengths at 6:30am she kept turning the conversation to she can't do anything about the time they pickup, and Residential pickup time can start as early as 4am. I told her I am not dense, I know you can't control the pickup time, the problem is the driver being lazy and backing all the way down the street beeping all the way at 6:30am. I told her if Home Depot can driveway down the street and turn their huge delivery truck around, so can their driver. There is no need to be blaring that back up alarm for the length of 5-6 houses at that early hour. I asked to speak to the owner of the business and her response was, since I was NOT a customer, she wouldn't let me speak to the owner. Wtf? read more

They withdrew 2 payments from my checking account same day same amount, when I telephoned I had a person (female). Explain to me repeatedly the same thing over and over how I must have it set up on automatic payments and also Bill pay. I explained that I did not have it set up that way, I only had it set up for automatic payments. In the past this has happened before and they just reversed the payments no big deal. Not this time after her going on and on, how it must be my fault, etc. then she informed me they could give the money back but it would take 8-10 weeks. Seriously? It was still pending in my account. I said OK do whatever you need to do, she puts me on hold and then tells since the name on the account is my sons since he rents the house she needs to talk to him. I just gave up then. Even though my name is on the main account. I have never dealt with anyone like at Republic, in the past the person I dealt with was super nice and helpful. read more

I live off Independence Highway and follow your trucks on a daily basis. I'd venture to guess that 99% of the litter and garbage along side this road is directly attributed to your poor quality hauling/trucking practices and inability and carelessness of our community to cover and secure the garbage that you haul up and down our roads. I've lost count how many times I've had to slam on my brakes or dodge debris flying out of your trucks as your drivers drive down the road with large pieces of garbage (paper, cardboard, plastics, anything light weight) comes flying out of your trucks. It's appalling that a garbage company is so careless and has little regard for the community they serve to consistently litter our roads and create hazards to other drivers. And to think we pay you exhorbant prices to litter our roads on top of that..... read more

Poor customer service. Sat on hold for almost an hour to ask about a missed trash pickup. They missed my entire street. Tried to report via online form, website would not accept my report without a purchase order number. Who the heck has purchase orders for home pickup. Unacceptable that communication wirh thus company is next to impossible. They are the only game in town so they get away with customer neglect. If there were any other option in my town I would take it. They never answered my call. I finally gave in and chose the option for call-back. Can't wait to see how long THAT takes though my expectations are low. My respect for this company is right up there with my opinion of the federal government. Which is in negative numbers right now. Website sucks, customer service sucks. Wish I could give lower than one star. read more

They missed my pickup on Monday and I informed them via email that same day. Got an automated response that evening that pickup would be made on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with no pickup. Called their customer service number and was assured that it would be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday passed with no pickup, so I called again. Got some story about a broken down truck but that a note would be sent to the local office supervisor and someone would be in contact with me. It is now noon on Thursday and just got off the phone with customer service once again. Was told, again, that I would be on the pickup schedule for Friday and that the request has been "escalated". They do not pick up my garbage claiming the container is blocked. My neighbors park in an emergency turn around down my street (not near my house). When I call them to report a missed pick up, they informed me if I put out extra bags the following week I will be charged over $10 per bag. This is a constant issue on my street. It's very odd that the recycling truck has no issues. One time, they did not pick up in my area for 4 weeks strait. They never once credited my bill. When I do look at my bill I find extra charges when they told me to leave out bags (at no cost) in the past. They promise to call me before the end of the day, with answers, and I have never once received a call back from anyone. I have canceled my service with them. read more

They lie to me every time I call, which is now up to twice a week because I still don't have my service correct but are quick to ask for money for a trash bin they havent even gotten around to drop off. Please please drop off my 90 gallon trash bin, I've been without any trash bin for over a week now! It all started when we purchased a home in west Albany on 11/14.. the prior owner had a 90 gallon and they told me that was scheduled to be picked up 12/3/19, they were dropping off a 32 gallon Tuesday 11/19/19, I called them the day before, so Monday the 18th and asked of it was too late to just keep the 90 gallon and not take the 32. I was told yes, I called in time. The next day, so 11/19, they took the 90 gallon and left the 32 gallon, I checked the site and I'm being charged and want the 90 Gallon, I called them Wednesday the 20th and explained. I was told they pick up the 32 gallon on Tuesday the 26th and leave a 90 gallon the 29th, no problem, I told them. FRIDAY 11/29, NO CONTAINER. Called yesterday and was told, no it was scheduled today Tuesday the 3rd. At 4pm today, I called again, no container, I was told "dont worry a manager is on this, you'll get today, I promise!" Well folks, its 7:10 pm and no container at all.. I have a garage will trash in it because I cant keep it in the house and I've been charged since Monday 11/18/19 for a 90 gallon container which I only had that day, they picked up 11/19. The worst thing is everytime I call, they act like this is all my fault. read more

I had to wait on hold for a 1/2 an hour just to find out what the cost would be to upgrade to the next size up of garbage kart that information should have been on their website and they should have more than 2 sizes available but it's either 32 gallon or 90 gallon no in between with a significant $22 price difference. So I spent a 1/2 an hour of my day waiting to find out there's nothing they can do for me. read more

Had huge billing issues when moving. I was placed in collections for things that should not be in collections. The right hand not talking to the left essentially, hence disrupting my service unnecessarily. Always keep good records you WILL need them to prove payments at some point. So frustrating, wish I could say this was the first time this has happened! read more

I can see why there is always openings for positions at this company. Horrible service and vehicles in poor condition.

Tried to sign up for services online, but after 5 days of waiting never heard from them (they claimed that they would call the next business day). Then I called and waited on hold for 37 minutes just to talk to somebody and find out that my online request was nowhere to be found. Very frustrating!!! Only silver lining is that the customer service rep was very helpful. I was on the phone for a total of 50 minutes. read more
