On Thursday September 23, 2021 i Called to have my service contract terminated since I have sold my home. On Sunday 26, 2021 i will transfer the home to the new owners. I asked if I can have the trash bins picked up before the 26th. I was told the next pick up would be October 8, two weeks from today. I told them I will not own the property. I asked if I can have the trash bins picked up from my friend who lives on the next block over. I was told I could not do this and the bins have to be picked up From my old address, which is absurd since my friend lives on the next block . Then I was informed I would get charged if the bins are not out in front of the house, which I don't own. This is just stupid. Wish my company was the only one in town and I could do what I wanted. They use to pick garbage up on Wednesday before 7:30am. Now out of the blue they change the time, I use this area all day long. So now they change the time without notice, they miss pickups for being blocked. I call on 5-16-18 in the AM we will send out a truck, then I call in the PM asking why garbage not picked up they tell set for 5-17. 5-17 still not picked up. Asked if I could get credit for the week they did not pick up and they said no due to drive way being blocked, but they changed the time with no notice. Absolutely disrespectful we pay on time our can clean and neat lid closed and the same driver does the same negligent shit. Past Friday this driver pasts up my trash slows down looks at at to say as if I don't feel like getting out or angle the truck to grab the can. A necessary service for trash, etc., removal. It would be lovely if everything went in their truck and additional clean up wasn't needed. Recommendation / side note: They consider dirt "contamination." Dirt cannot go in the green bin. If there is dirt in the green bin they will not remove the contents until the dirt has been removed. Recommend using the black / garbage bin for dirt to save yourself lots of headache...and backache. read more

I rarely leave reviews & never leave poor reviews because I want to assume the best but the poor service is an ongoing issue for trash or recycle pick up. Their customer service/call center is great - if only the drivers would follow thru and pick up. Literally, every week either our trash or our recycle is Not picked up. It is a regular part of my week to phone and report the missed pick up. Usually, a driver will then come. We are going on 3 weeks now of NO recycle pick up. I have phoned or emailed on a daily basis only to be told they agree it is a problem. Pick up is pending. They don't know why it's happening. It will be fixed...and yet it hasn't. Not helpful. Emailed customer service who told me to call in to request the yearly dump coupon since it was not mailed to me. Called in and the rep told me first that they don't mail dump coupons any longer, which is not true because I have seen other neighbors who re related to me get them. Then told me that I needed to come in on the 1st of the month and the coupons run out quick and then told me that my name may not be correct on the coupon which I already stated was never mailed to me. Love the twice a year annual large pick ups we get. I've used the services twice and I never knew about it until my neighbor told me. Both times the gentleman that came were amazing and got it done and didn't lose a step. Today it was one gentleman that came to our location on discovery and he was super friendly and had a mask and gloves and he took care of our long needed to toss trash quickly. I appreciate the extra services offered by this company. Everyone's circumstances are different and experiences but for mine from the phone call agent to the service both times have been stellar. Republic Services is not a perfect operation. However, they do work that can be difficult due to parking, or do to absences (or vacations) of regular staff who pick up the waste. Picking up containers in between all of the parked vehicles makes the job difficult. Replacement staff may miss a street (or one side of a street) when picking up the waste. Timing of replacing containers can be confusing as you have to request this one week in advance. I appreciate the work done by the Republic Services employees. The drivers are most often polite and friendly, and I often see drivers that get out of the vehicle to get the container for people with physical disabilities. I have never experienced a problem when I have called the Republic Services office. The wait time is minimal, in my experience. When I have notified Republic Services that a pick-up was missed (this has only happened twice) they were here the next day to pick up the waste. If I request a replacement container, as long as I leave the present container empty, and on the curb (on the correct day), the exchange occurs. I have taken chemical waste (paint cans, oil cans, various "fluids" florescent bulbs, etc.), to the Republic Services yard, the employees were friendly and helpful. I have taken loads of garbage to the disposal site (dump). Again, employees are pleasant and helpful. read more

Customer service and response from supervisors is nonexistent. We have lived at our present address for almost 27 years. It is only in the last couple of years that we have had problems. Our driveway is a hill. Now if there is the least bit of dampness they will not come up our driveway (even though we pay extra for that service). Today (Friday) we were told that we would have to wait until our next regular day (Thursday) Now if it rains next Thursday - what are we suppose to do. They only took half the garbage from my container which was weird because there wasn't much garbage in there that week. 4 phone calls later with rude representatives and 5 days later they pick up my can and then for some unknown reason they remove my 64 gallon garbage and swap it out for a 32 gallon which I never requested. I called back again and was told they would fix it by Friday here we are again it's Monday and it's still not fixed, I'm currently waiting for a supervisor to call me back I won't hold my breath. I wanted to have a question answered about where & how to dispose of something. I don't have internet at my house and my phone is too small for me to look things up. With that said, I called them. When I finally got through the automated system, it placed me on hold & and informed me that they were assisting other customers and would answer once available. I understand that I need to be patient a bit and to wait my turn. I am certainly okay with that. What I have a problem with is waiting a half hour on hold and when someone actually answered, I was told that they had someone before me and that they would be right back. So, needless to say, I was placed on hold again. That really doesn't even bother me. I am upset by the fact that I was on hold for another 30 minutes before I just hung up. I don't know if anyone has had that same problem, but that's not okay. Especially when they can just raise the amount of charges without an explanation or providing a breakdown of all charges. I pay my bill on time. When I call in to have a question answered, I shouldn't have to wait an hour on hold. I hope the phones are taken a bit more seriously and that this was one-time event. read more

We have only lived here a few months yet our garbage has been missed twice. It's frustrating that since our day is Friday it won't get picked up until Monday if we're lucky. Last time it wasn't picked up until the day before our next pickup. Never had a problem with the yard waste or recycling drivers. If it was missed in Napa they always would come the next day. I recently had a missed pickup due to not having access to my recycling bin. I called and they told me that a car was blocking the arms of the recycling truck. They told me that I would have to pay an extra fee for the pickup. I said ok. I was told that they would pickup the following day. The following day I called them because by 3pm they had not arrived. I was told that they would be here before 6pm. I called them again because they hadn't arrived by 5:55pm. I was then told that I was scheduled for the following day. I told them that I was scheduled for that day. Apparently someone there decided to change my date without my knowledge. At that time I told them to forget about it. DO NOT CHARGE ME THE XTRA FEE! I DEFINITELY WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO USE YOUR SERVICES. You raised our rates so I don't know why we should pay extra. You're out here anyway!. Poor service.
