Set up service incorrectly. But got it fixed and had an ok couple of years (where the bills kept increasing). Recently made a change to my service. Got automated calls about billing problems. After another 30 minute call, thought we had it fixed. 2 weeks later they just take my trash container. Call, turns out my service was cancelled. It would be over a week for another container to be delivered. Evidently they don't even do new service in my area anymore. Acted like they were doing me a favor. No apology. This is absolutely the worst company. They have missed picking up my trash 4 times since November, 3 times since the middle of February, twice in the last 3 weeks. I was missed again Thursday morning. I called Friday morning at 8 and was met with another apology. I was told they would pick my trash up either that day or on Monday (yesterday). Today is Tuesday and my trash is still sitting out at the end of the driveway. I called this morning and was apologized to yet again. Every time I call, I'm told they are sending this to a supervisor to review why I keep getting missed. I have yet to hear back from a supervisor on what they plan on doing to make sure my traah does not get missed anymore. My trash is set out by 10-11 pm Wednesday nights (the night before pickup). They manage to pick up my neighbors, but can't seem to get mine. I have security camera's that show my trash is set out on time. This is beyond frustrating. I moved into a new home and had cans delivered on 11/15 and had to call every day for two weeks reporting a missed pick up. I spoke with a supervisor on the last call and told them to pick up the cans as I will be finding a new trash service. Terrible Service. Yard Waste not picked up on 5.13.2022, I called and reported the missed pick up. I decided to wait until the next scheduled pick up on 5.20.2022 asked for a credit which was given. The next pick up on 5.20.2022 was missed, I was in the yard and witnessed the driver come down the street, pick up a neighbors yard waste and leave without picking up mine. I call Customer Service, @ 4:30, right after this happened and was told they would contact the driver to come back, this did not happen, yard waste still not picked up. I called on Monday 05.23.2022 8 AM and again spoke to Customer Service and was told my missed pickup was scheduled for Tuesday 05.24.2022. I asked for an Operations Supervisor to call me back, this happened on 05.23.2022, where I was assured the issue was being addressed with the driver and my yard would be picked up on Tuesday 05.24.2022. Tuesday came and went and my yard waste was not picked up. I called Customer Service again, Wednesday 05.25.2022 8 AM, I received unprofessional and rude service, constantly interrupted and spoke over by their representation. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told that an escalation would be put in, however it could be 24 hours before a call back happened. I asked for that escalation to happen and another escalation to the Operation Supervisor be submitted as this a continuous unresolved issue. Waiting on my call back. It is hard to believe in this age of technology and collaborative tools that it takes 24 hours for an escalation to a supervisor to satisfy a customer who is not receiving the service being paid for. Be wary of using Republic Services Louisville for yard waste pickup and be prepared to spend your time waiting on hold to speak to customer service, only to have your issue not resolved and wait more time for a supervisor to all you back. Republic forces you to prepay for yard waste removal, and then skips the pickup more often than not. There is no local customer service contact, and the remote customer services doesn't do anything to correct the problem. There are better options than Republic Services. read more

They were great. Charging quarterly always picking up everything. Then one day they pick up my can and took it with them. I noticed that my bill was late (automatic payment?) So when I called to ask what was going on I was told that I needed to make a payment with late fees and a reactivation fee which I did. The next day the automatic payment came out. I called again and was told that they would credit me back the amount of the auto draft (not the late fees or reactivation fees). I have yet to be repayed or get a trash can so I can have trash haulled away. read more

They called on me every week for not moving my can to the street but when I canceled they had not problem getting out to take half my trash out to put in the grass. We paid for service with two garbage cans and for the third week in a row I don't have my garbage cans and they will not pick up my trash without them. They require their special blue cans in order to pick up trash so I can't even go buy cans and have them pick up the trash. Apparently, we have no option but to use this service. Signed up for recycling services back in November 2018. Out of a potential 14 pick up dates, we have only been serviced 3 times on the actual date. I have had to call customer service so often for a missed pick up, that the republic number is now one of tlmy top 5 numbers as tracked by my phone. Would have to call mulitple times to reschedule pick up. We tried to do the "right thing" by adding recycling to our services, but it is more of a headache then it is worth. Inhave tried to cancel, but have been told that I can not until after thia month. What a waste of money! I'm not impressed at all. Was set up for garbage collection on Wednesday's. They didn't take the trash that day. Called republic that day to let them know. I was told they'd send someone out that day or the next day and to just leave my cans on the roadside. No one came and collected the trash Wednesday evening. I called again Thursday and was told the exact same thing. Here it is now Friday and the cans are still sitting on the roadside full of trash. Called today which is Friday and was once told again that someone would be out there to collect them. Still no one has showed up. I'm sick of this company. The 4th of July is a holiday indeed. The pickup day is Friday unless a holiday. They should of been here a day behind, Monday. Monday came and went. So did all the other days of the week and still no trash pickup. I spoke to a representative who is actually in Indiana. I called the Louisville number. He took my information and spent some time on the computer and he assured me that it would be picked up today. Early this morning to be exact is what he told me. I told him I didn't want to leave the company if they are willing to make this right. Today..... on behalf of all my neighbors that are sick of your s**t I'm done now. I'll take my business elsewhere. I'm done waiting forever for you to take my garbage. The payment is expected on due date. I expect you on due date. You have a company to run. Get someone out of the office or pay your people better and maybe you can have adequate people to run your routes. Certainly the worst trash pickup company (maybe any company) I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The pickups are sporadic and often don't get addressed after calling them to report a missed pickup. I have been using a busted trash can without a lid for over a year since it got crushed by the truck. They are unable to replace it to this date and after seven (7) calls to them to replace it. As is typical, you call them and get a data entry clerk who is very nice, but clearly not effective. Either that, or the problems they report are being ignored by management which seems more likely after all the calls I have made. read more

The trash is piled up in and around the dumpster, which has been sitting in front of our house for 2 weeks and 2 days. One of their "drivers" said that our trash was not out at 7 am, but it was. Lying about that to us was stupid, as we have outdoor cameras. Later today it is going to rain which is going to make a real mess. They have lied to us all week saying they would pick up the trash that day, and they haven't shown up. We have always paid our bill upon receipt. Service is very poor. They said they will send a truck out to pick it up the next day or so but they never did. I called again, they told me the same thing but they never came. The rate keeps increasing each year. Called again and after 45 minutes I finally was told that I still, STILL, have an account that resembles the Rosetta Stone in confusing anyone and everyone not to mention that after claiming they closed my account in January, charging my card in February, and claiming they couldn't charge my card on file in March (despite having phone so the month before) my account IS STILL CLOSED! You guys are the absolute worst!! First of all, you charge a $20-25 fee for delivery of a trash can when someone begins service which is absurd. Additionally months and months of extra fees and taxes, I finally decided to use another company and requested a stop of service and for the can to be picked up. Well, that was one and a half months ago. I have called about 10 times to schedule pickup and to express my frustration. Each and every time it's been left out to the curb on the "scheduled" pick up date, and no one ever picks up the can. I've asked to speak with supervisors, but no one is ever available and when call back promises are made, no one ever calls me. In addition, my billing had continued until very recently when they also charged for the can, which I've scheduled pick up on. It has been sent to collections, and I am submitting a claim to the BBB. I don't even know where to start with this awful company. They wouldn't let me post without rating but I give Republic ZERO STARS!!!! First, they charge about twice as much as every other local company. When picking up, they after knock over the can trying to pick up with the arm and NEVER pick up trash that falls out on the ground. We notified them that we would be switching to Hometown (almost half the price btw) and they told us that they would charge is $30 to pick up our cans. I tried to speak with a supervisor, as I feel like I have picked up enough trash with my own hands that they could waive that $30 fee. They refused to let me speak with anyone else. They told me we could bring the cans in ourselves at no charge, or pay $70 to keep them. They have been sitting on the curb for THREE weeks waiting for them to pick them up. Today, we get a bill....a full month after cancellation! My husband calls to dispute and asks when they plan to pick up our cans and they said that we hadn't placed them out for pickup. WRONG! They also tell us that the cost for pick is now $60!!! He says nevermind, I will bring them in my self. They told him, "We don't offer that here". You have to pay the $60 at this point. Well, yet again I came home to find my trash can sitting full right where I left it this morning--EXACTLY 3FT FROM MY MAILBOX! We had rec'd numerous notes each week to do this even though we have always abided by it. I was told I would get a yard waste container and it was included in the price and was picked up Year round-just like Rumpke. None of this is true. After paying my upfront bill and signing a one year contract, I find that my yard waste needs to be in paper bags, and only picking up April-January. Said I can put it in my trash, so I did today, and so it wasn't picked up at all. On my security camera I saw they came at 8:12 am, looked at it and drove away. Of course it is after 5 and I can't call now-and we are having a windstorm so it will blow all over the yard--so frustrating! And if Corporate is reading this- Name Karen James, zip 40223. This company is a joke. Their customer service is incredibly poor. When I purchased my new house a year ago, I quickly discovered that this is the only trash service in my county. To start, the previous owners had issues with them picking up cans, getting their refund which lead to several calls via them and myself. Well, I sold the home and now it is happening to me. In their defense, the new owners did not set out the can the first time. But when i called about a bill i received vs a credit, i set up a new pick up for the can and was told to call back to day after to see if picked up. Then, to call back 2 weeks later to see if the invoice had been voided and then again to get my refund. I called the day after and am being told there is no way for them to know if the can had been picked up and there was no one that could help me. So, i'm stuck paying a bill because they are incompetent. i think i would take my trash to a family members and help them pay for it vs using them at a new home. read more

I've moved 6 times (5 different states) and I've never known (Until This company) a company to not pick up a neighbors trash because they put their trash bins at the very end of their driveway, instead of putting it in the street. We have mega construction going on in the neighborhood and probably 20 different landscape companies with trailers driving through the neighborhood daily. Really? What a joke. I've known multiple neighbors this has happened to. I've also seen them not pick up a neighbors trash because things stuck up 10" above the top of the trash can. And Oldham County is the only place I've lived, where the trash just lays in the street if the garbage collector doesn't get it all in the truck. Most places the garbage truck stops and scoops it up if something doesn't make it. And what is up with every other week recycling. 80% of everyone's trash is Recyclable packaging material...and we're paying for it.
