Pretty easy process .. you roll in, get weighed , give them your ID then follow the signs . On a note ... when you come after 2pm there are ALOT of trash trucks u loading .. Do Not Wait Behind Them ... pull to where you see trash and release. Once waited 45 min only to be told I didn't have too .. Dump and go ... yes it's cost money .. yes your not going to want to pay the prices .. but hey it's your trash... so much trash talk .. it's your trash .. comes with a price ! Just a note : they are down to one scale so you have to make a u-turn and go back thru the scale you came in to weigh out ... and that is the part that can suck ! read more

The staff at the Sycamore Landfill is very friendly. Only downside is you need to know where you need to go as sometimes the signage isn't exactly great. My husband and I have taken a couple of large loads and the price isn't bad. I believe it was a great value for the amount of stuff we were dumping getting ready for an upcoming move. Since I feel that the information is NOWHERE online... MUST bring a Hard Hat and close toed shoes! Basically you show up and wait in the line with all the other trucks. The employee in the shack will weigh your vehicle and you'll go from there. Cost depends on weight. Google says "greens" for materials accepted. This is wrong. I brought a flat trailer with a mixture of metal, yard waste, plastic, leftover turf, tires... the possibilities were pretty much endless. You get to the dump location and there will be plenty of semi trucks in line. Personal vehicles are plucked from line and told to dump. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Since I had a Santee resident pass I wasn't required to weigh on the way out so I can't speak on that process. All the staff was friendly, no issue at all. read more

Republic services IS trash! It's been months and I've lodged several complaints to get reimbursed for the entire month that Republics workers were on strike. Have to say their commercial account response is dreadful. I used to have an acct rep, now there is no one being held accountable. If they weren't my only choice, I'd find someone else. read more

Best landfill in San Diego Lowest cost You can bring in a truckload of old sod and its only $50 bucks no matter the weight. Plus it all outside others make you pull in a dusty and smelly transfer building. Miramar landfill is the worst with cops bugging you while you while you wait in line after a hard day of work. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. Fallbrook is my next favorite because there is never a line and not crowded. $64 per tons so if you have a ton and a half load you will pay close to $100 Escondido 3rd favorite because it is open on Sundays with no crowds Same price as fallbrook Syacamore landfill in Santee is by far the best as it saves you $50 bucks easily over the others. read more

AVOID at all costs, back when everything was closed due to COVID, I had trimmed my trees and had a bunch of waste. I loaded up my truck and went to Miramar Landfill where you can usually dump for free, cause I am a San Diego City resident. I show up with my truck completely full and of course closed. This place was then the next closest to me, so I decided to go there. I drive all the way out to Santee, drive up to their little scale and the bitch at the window tells me in an annoyed tone it will be 80 DOLLARS!!! I am basically stuck now so I agree and then she says do you have a hard hat, I say no so she says I will have to sell you one. I did not understand her so I ask nicely I am sorry can you repeat yourself, then she says the same thing in a much more rude an annoyed tone! I drive throughout this place, which is very confusing since there is so many different ways about. I pull up to what I think is the right area for greenery recycling, and it turns out I am in the wrong area. A big gruff Asshole Walks over to my car and says very rudely, what makes you so important to cut the line. I was so panicked looking for the right area I did not even see the line of other cars, which if I did I would have waited. I innocently say it's my first time here and I am looking for greenery disposal. This douche then says fallow the signs. WTF!!! There are no signs! After paying 80 dollars to use this facility I expect some decent service from your employees. I eventually found the right area, but seriously the amount of rudeness is just insulting. And to add insult to injury after off-roading through this place I get home and my truck has a broken taillight from debris hitting it. This dump is a ripoff. I dumped 4.72 tons of clean concrete and they charged me $240.05 and yesterday at Edco i dumped 4.89 tons of clean concrete and was charged $165.48. I questioned the woman at the sycamore landfill as to why when i come to the final destination its about $75.00 more to dump than going to a second source. The woman immediately became rude and loudly stated they have more overhead than Edco and they are Republic, not Edco. Thats BS.... and I will never dump at Sycamore again. read more

I can actually compare this landfill to others in the area as I've been to most in San Diego County. This one is tip top. What criteria can you use to assess a landfill you ask? Well, this one does a great job of cleaning up loose garbage that flies about when the winds pick up. They really try to keep the trash on the face they're working. There were very few (if any) scavenging birds which is a plus and the workers seem concerned about safety. One in our party wasn't wearing a hard hat when he emerged from our truck and we got a very quick "hey" complete with a honk and gesturing to the head! That is cool in my book! Currently on hold with customer service - 29 minutes and counting..... We are using another company for our business trash service, but liked the quote we rec'd from Republic so I wanted to discuss starting service with them. I've noticed when you call you NEVER get to speak to the same person (even when you ask for them by name). The person I'm currently on the line with told me he has to generate a "new quote" for me to start service (even though I have the quote in-hand from a few days ago). I agreed to let him generate a quote and turns out it's way more expensive (go figure). Also, the old quote has discounts listed that the current rep told me are only good for the 1st month (it doesn't state that on the quote) and that the discount expires and we'll be charged after the 1st month... What? I asked to speak to a supervisor so that I could use my prior quote (since it was cheaper) and I've now waited an additional 20 minutes while we "wait for a supervisor". The rep keeps coming back on the line to "check on me". On this last "check in" I said "Um, no thanks - Moving on"! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I don't care how good the price is, I can't imagine dealing with this if I needed to place a customer service call after starting service. If I could give ZERO STARS, I would. Yuck! read more

We ordered a 40yard dumpster for a home remodel project. Initially, we were very pleased with the salesman that we set up the contract with. He was helpful, straight forward and all for a great cost. Our contract was for next-day delivery/drop off, pick up/dump with a flat rate, for one month rental and the option to re-rent if needed. We signed and paid, we were ready to go. However, from that point forward we had nothing but issues. I called on Thursday to see if it was possible for Friday delivery. We realized it was last minute but we had a demo happening over the weekend and were in need asap. We were told they had a dumpster available for Friday and it would be delivered by end of day. We ONLY agreed to getting the dumpster from Republic because they had something available for Friday delivery. We had other family friends/companies we wanted to used but were in need of something right away. By 3pm on Friday, the dumpster had not been delivered, nor had we received any calls. I called to get a delivery status, at which point I was sent to the AZ call center who could not help me since deliveries are handled locally from the Chula Vista office. They assured me they would sent a message to the Chula Vista office to contact me. An hour goes by, no response. I call again, same thing. I ended up leaving a message with several different reps all of whom could not give me any details. Ultimately spent 3 or so hours trying to track down information about where our delivery was and at the end of the day the dumpster was NOT delivered. I called again first thing Saturday morning (when the demo was scheduled to begin) and I was told by the call center my best option was to go to the Chula Vista office in person. I live in Alpine, that was not an ideal solution considering we were in the middle of working at the house, but we needed the dumpster and they had already taken our money... so I went to the office. I spent over an hour in the office while the receptionist tried to track down the dumpster for my order. She couldn't locate it and ultimately ended up having to get a day-of delivery (which they tried to bill me for later) and set the delivery for 3pm, which was not actually delivered until 5pm. So we did not have the dumpster at all during demo as planned. A couple weeks go by and I get a bill in the mail for several hundred dollars for the day-of service fee, delivery and drop off fees. Mind you, I already pre-paid this with the original contract I signed. I called to discuss the bill, was again filtered through the call center. Spoke w 2 different "supervisors" for hours at a time to ultimately be told I'd get a call back with resolution. Never got a call back. I was finally able to get a phone number to the Chula Vista manager's office, left 3 messages over a week in a halfs time but did finally get a call back. She explained they had created two different accounts for me, one for the contract that I originally paid and a second account from my Saturday trip to their local office. She was able to reconcile the issue and after I explained all the trouble I'd had, they refunded me the originally delivery fee as a courtesy. I was appreciative and thankful the situation was done. Then it was time to schedule the pick-up. I called them, gave them the OK to pick-up and dump. They did so as planned. A month later, I get another bill now for the Pick-Up fee. This fee was pre-paid in my original contract. The dump fee was understandable and expected, however, I was again being double billed for the Pick-Up fee. I returned the statement with a letter and copy of my original contract, refused to pay and requested an updated bill. 3 months go by, no new bill, no call regarding my letter. Then I get a "Final Notice" threatening collections. The Final Notice was for the dump fee only, which is great, they removed the pick-up fee. But they never sent me a corrected bill, instead I receive a Pre-Collecitons letter. By far the worst company I've dealt with in regards to billing and administration. They are impossible to get a hold of, their billing and account departments are messy and inaccurate. Then when there is an issue, there's no one available who can resolve it. My husband is a contractor and we do regular construction projects, I'll never use them again. They are priced better than most companies but I'd rather pay more for better service. read more

For over 10 weeks I have been calling to have them do missed pick ups and they never come, no one ever calls me back as they promise. Ultimately I think they do not want to service our location because we are remote. No excuse to not pick up any of our trash, recycles or yard waste for 10 weeks! read more
