TERRIBLE. We had Republic Services since we moved in - roughly since 2018. Our dues consistently went up in price quarter over quarter. They changed our service day (where they neglected to pick up recycling for 2 weeks) so although long overdue, we finally canceled our service within the window required. I took our credit card off of autopay months prior and we were still charged for the following quarter after canceling. After multiple phone calls where no one has been of help, we are still awaiting this refund, but as you can see, they are not refunding us the full amount. My advice if you use this company and pay on autopay, remove your card and wait for the paper bill.... then cancel. read more

They will not issue me a credit because they tell me now that I don't pay for days I pay for tonnage, which is ridiculous because if I would've kept it extra days, they would have charged me per the quote. If they read their reviews they should be seriously looking at their organizations responsiveness and issues their clients are reporting and FIX THE PROBLEMS! Our issue is they missed a pickup and said they would pick up on Monday, which is our next pick up day. The issue is that the can is full and where do we put our new trash. This concept was beyond the customer's reps comprehension. I've also heard that they do not really recycle the recyclables but dump it with the other trash. I called on Monday and was told (lied to) that the representative could not cancel my account or transfer me to someone that could. She would take my number down have someone call me to cancel....well it's Friday now (today) and I finally called back. They agree I am not in a contract but still won't waive the bogus charge to pick up their containers. I'm going to contact the Attorney General's office in Bucks County PA where my local store is based (Telford). This service company suck ass. I wish i can give them zero star. One star is WAY too generous. After being with them for a year or so, they came and took our containers without any notification. Bills always paid on time. We call them and they were trying to stall the replacing containers until next week. We said no because the mistake is from their end and that they need to fix this the next day. After speaking to the manager, she said they were going to charge us $80 to replace the containers. Why would they charge us something that they screw up? After exchanging aggressive conversation, she was not very helpful. We end up canceling the service with refund that we just paid for. I've been a long standing customer & up until recently I had been very satisfied with Republic. I'm paying for twice a week pickup on Tuesday & Friday. No issues with trash pickup. However, recyclables have been missed the past 2 weeks. I call customer service & am not given a reason for this break in service. Last week I was told they would be picked up Weds or Thursday. Picked up on Thursday & given a different container. This week told picked up again Thursday & did not happen. Called to speak to a manager, none available. Said a truck would be by Friday. Told rep due to high winds i brought container in & will wait til next Tuesday. If not picked up again on scheduled date, I will look for a more reliable trash/recyclable service. read more

We were with republic services for 2 and a half years after moving to the area and after a ton of missed pickups for months we decided to cancel with them. They were a week late from the scheduled date to even pick up their own bins. Then they sent us a $35 invoice for picking them up. Then trying to get someone on the phone is absolutely impossible. Wow, a solid one star company. I went to the website to try and find out about Bulk pick up. I clicked the bulk pick up icon and they asked for an email address. They sent me an email with a phone number to call and a case number. I called the number and they put me on hold fr 20 minutes and then a recording asked me if I would prefer a call back so I scheduled a call back. They called me back and the person with whom i spoke couldn't answer my question so i was put on hold again for another 45 minutes. Bulk pick up for a chair costs $25, in addition to the regular 202.00 quarterly. The waste pick up is sketchy at best and the customer service is also in the dumps! read more

If I could provide zero stars I would. I was a new customer who just moved, my trash was picked up two days late even after confirming the day. Since we just moved and the trash was picked up late, we had a few extra bags, all combined and tied and boxes flatten and tied together. Instead of taking them the trash and recycling people threw them out of their way to only take the cans and left everything else. Now we have more trash to be picked up and no resolution. Worst ever! They only take some of the trash and recyclables. Sometimes they even throw the recycled pieces into the bushes in the yard. They started charging 60 some dollars but it increased regularly until it got to $100. Then I got a bill for $250! I called them and got somebody in North Carolina who couldn't explain the increase. So I cancelled. Three months later I got a letter from them saying they had sent me numerous letters telling me I owed $32, the fee for taking their bins away and they were going to turn it over to a collection agency and ruin my credit if I didn't pay it right away! Awful service. The guys that serviced my recycling in Colebrookdale Township are the most miserable workers. I get it may not be the most enthralling job but try harder. They would throw my bins on my lawn or in the street. I'm not asking for neatly stacked. They ran over my neighbor's kid's basketball and laughed about it. This is probably one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure to work with. They are certainly the worst trash company I have ever dealt with. It seems so random. Usually, you select a trash company via an advertisement or through a recommendation from a neighbor and you are good to go. You put your trash out, they collect it and that is that. Usually the only reason you switch is that over time the prices start to creep up, little at a time or another company comes into the area with a better deal to sway customers. Really no drama. Not so with republic. This company seems to go out of there way to make life difficult. A year ago, our HOA decided that to do a great thing for our community they would go out to bid for a single hauler. It was great in theory. Instead of random companies six days a week we have a single pickup. Everyone puts the trash out on the same day. Nice. Except we chose Republic. EVERY week there is drama. These houses don't get picked up. Next time it's different houses (you have the ENTIRE development folks, that's why ALL the cans are the same color and have your company name. Billing has been no better (in fact probably worse). We have a one year "negotiated rate". You guessed it, EVERY quarter there is drama. They randomly send rate increases to several houses. NO ONE at the company is aware of the pricing. Calling is futile unless you enjoy talking to the least helpful and rudest people you could assemble into a single company. After wearing yourself out, they promise they will "check into it and get back to you. Surprise, they don't you simply get a past due notice and a fee. Our HOA needs to constantly step in. Lately that doesn't seem to be working either as I am getting notices that they are sending me to collections (they billed me triple the agreed rate this quarter. I paid the agreed rate, same as the over 200 other homeowners in the development). Can't wait til we go out to bid this year please ANYONE other than this company!! I've had to find another Refuse Service. Republic Services more than doubled their prices recently after a failed attempt to get us to sign a multi-year contract a 10-20% over prevailing market rates! So I've moved to Whitetail who has not raised their rates (nor do they plan to) for the last 6+ years. We've always had good, reliable service from Republic, and they provided good proactive notification (automated) when pick-up schedule changed - but their prices have been way above market. They have no formal pricing data on their website, nor terms/conditions. They told me they would charge me $15 to pick up their own cans - which is crazy. My neighbors have had the same experience and dozens of us have moved to other providers. Refuse hauling is a commodity service and should be at the prevailing market rate. I don't know what Republic provides that differentiates them in the market other than usurious pricing and now - inflexible, poor customer service. It seems they simply don't want to keep their customers. Do yourself a favor - shop your market and pick someone else. AND - if you're a current Republic Customer - be proactive and find a replacement before you too are hit with their price increase. It is very sad to see a company do this to themselves! I am only rating this company 1 star because I cannot give it zero. With repeated price increases it was getting pretty clear that I needed to change my service. I called to have it stopped before the start of a new billing cycle. The customer service rep acted so nice, but then they told me there was a pick-up fee for the trash can (which is NOT in the contract). They picked up the can, and I expected them to send a $30 bill for trash can removal. Nope. They sent a bill for $153. I called customer service. They told me they would take care of it. I didn't hear back. Until a couple of days ago when they sent a threatening letter saying they have been trying to contact me (which they were not). We had no calls from them and no additional mail communications. This company charges astronomical fees and then through shady means tries to overcharge customers as they leave. Think very carefully if you're considering this company for trash services. read more

Worse than 1 star but can't go lower unfortunately. I cancelled their service before the next quarter's first pickup...they still bill you $38 for a month of service that you aren't using!! Plus they charge you another $60 for THEM to take THEIR bins off your property!!! Oh and a $22 fuel recovery based off of your bill amount?!? How is this even legal?? Then this month there was an increase, of course, and the new rate is $235. I thought this was a mistake but it wasn't. I would not recommend this company. Stay away. It is essentially a scam where they subtly raise rates over time within administrative fees and fuel recovery/surcharge fees. The ironic thing was when the fuel fees increased even during the time when the price of gas was falling fast. Once I called to say I was going to cancel and they then dropped my price to match the competitor. But, each quarter, the price kept creeping back up. I feel bad for the customer service personnel who have to field calls and try and explain away the unsavory billing practices that management has put in place. Not a good company to do business with when they keep raising their prices then send you a bill for container collection upon cancellation, many stories like this on the Internet regarding Republic Services. I called and explained that no one ever said I would be charged for having Republic pick up the containers upon cancellation otherwise I would have not signed the contract. I was told that I should contact the person who wrote my contract and was given a number of someone in Arizona but the phone is answered by a Verizon operator. I will make sure my neighbors know about this Republic Services practice. I switched service to a competitor and saved $40.00 per quarter. read more

I cancelled service and went with Trademark, because of the rate increase and have been fighting them for over 4 months because Republic wants to charge me a $52.62 container REMOVAL fee??!?! Spoke with an agent, yet again today, and she informed me that "The Division" made a decision to not remove this charge. When I asked to speak to "The Division" she said they don't have numbers.....I don't know what kind of business this is, but to not be able to speak to someone who can properly address my concerns or do anything about them, is ludicrous!
