The young man at the entrance to the transfer on Saturday June 20th was friendly and professional. The reason I went to the transfer station was because I set up trash service in my community of Lakeside at Sunrise Villas 2 weeks prior and was advised my trash service would start on 10 June and the bulk trash would be every other week starting on 17 June. I was also given instructions that the old beat up Republic trash cans left by the previous owners could be replaced with newer clean ones if I left them out. Well I followed the instructions and my bulk trash was not picked up on the 17th. I called customer service and was assisted by a young lady who assured me she would place a note to dispatch about replacing the cans as well as let them know about the missed pick up and they would come back and pick it up. Needless to say they didn't pick it up again. I called again on Friday 19 June and spoke with someone who even sent me an email with a case number 238894337 to look into incident as well as assured me that dispatch would contact me that day or the next to pick up the bulk garbage still placed at the curb. Again no one contacted me so I looked up the transfer station and took it myself so I don't look like the trash person in my new community. Republic Services gets a bad rating for communication regarding residential service. read more

At my Workplace, the dumpster enclosure is located near my office, but this service is for the entire office community here. On the Recycling Pickup, there is no issue. There are two dumpsters, which are emptied regularly, twice a week. But on the Garbage Pickup, the second dumpster in the back, has been collecting more and more garbage, but the one who services it, is only collecting the trash from the front dumpster. The second dumpster, in the back, I think that the top portion of garbage bags is being collected. It's been like this for months. Meanwhile, there are flies and other pests. It is disgusting. This is ridiculous. I've contacted the Management Company who is reaching out to your Company. read more

Last night was big trash pickup. Everyone on my street had their bulk items picked up--except mine. The items were clearly acceptable (cardboard boxes), and identical to what everyone else put out. If you're going to provide a service, it should be done consistently. Leaving one house out while collecting everyone else's trash is unacceptable. This is especially frustrating since people already use the empty lot next to my house as an unofficial dumping ground. Please do better. read more

I'm giving this 5 stars only because of a young man named Demetri, who went above and beyond to provide me with all the information I needed to complete my delivery of bins for our new build. If it weren't for him, my rating would be a 1. I called twice to set up my new curbside cart delivery. The first rep hung up on me. The second rep seemed to set everything up, confirmed details, and then the call abruptly switched to the survey. I assumed the process was finished. Two days later, our neighborhood trash was picked up, but still no bins. When I called back, I was connected with Demetri, who explained that I didn't even have an account, meaning my entire 10-minute conversation with the previous rep was a complete waste of time. Demetri, however, was thorough, professional, and efficient. He provided pick-up dates, bulk pick-up dates, bin size options, and service details. Most importantly, he sent a confirmation email at the end of our call. 5 stars for Demetri in RENO! If you ever get him, you won't have a question to ask. Customer service 10/10! read more

I saw some other reviews prior to making the drive out here... and jus like they said "it's a dump"... don't expect anything fancy lol it's where you're taking bulk trash. It looks like a dump and smells like one but it's expected and I can't complain. We drove out to take some over sized boxes and an old warped table. Doing my part by not illegally dumping. Please note you need to have your trash bill or copy of with your name or proof that you reside at that location. Otherwise it's a fee. I believe I read $45. So you pay to buy stuff, then you pay to trash it. Also, ladies... make sure you don't have a full bladder. We sat in the car for nearly an hour and I tried to hold it. Luckily, I got out of the car and there was a ladies restroom inside the main office building. Any who, that's my dump review. Hope it's helpful. read more

It's the dump. My expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised that it is organized and the wait wasn't too bad. The wait was less than 20min on an early weekend morning. They ask for your a copy of your water bill. Mine was a couple months old. I was able to off load my green waste quickly. The employees were friendly and courteous. I was able to borrow a broom to clean off the bed of the truck. I wish there was a section for green waste, such as tree trimmings and such for composting. Otherwise, it's a smooth operation! read more

I have been using this Republic Services Transfer Station for about 10 years and the process hasn't really changed in all that time. You have to bring in a recent invoice and have an ID that matches the name on the invoice. Where that doesn't work is when you have a property in the name of a business, then obviously it won't match your ID. I have run into this as I own multiple properties and pay Republic Services fees on all of them but am only to utilize some of their services for the one property in my personal name. Secondly, the wait times at this transfer station are often terrible due to the number of people using it and the intermittent clearing the facility has to do. Sitting in a vehicle for an hour in the Las Vegas heat can be brutal on a human and vehicle. A simple alternative to this would be to have a streaming camera at each transfer facility that customers can check before they go to drop off their waste. It helps to self regulate the load of customers coming in. No more wasted trips across town. Lastly, there are two lanes for vehicle to check in and sometimes one of those lanes will be closed and have a cone at the booth. Unfortunately, by the time people see the cone and closure, they are already half way into the driveway and have to back their trucks and trailers out to join the first line. If a lane is closed, a cone should be placed at the front entrance letting everyone know from when they first pull in. On a positive note, the facility is always quite clean and the one time I did have an issue with an employee, the company did follow up on it. read more

It's a dump what are you really gonna expect from this. This is where you take your trash and not an alley. I saw the people working hard to get you through. Obviously it's busy on a weekends but it's understandable, everyone wants to do this on a weekend. Solid service and a police officer directing traffic a plus. read more

Got trash? Don't throw it at someone's empty lots! Just bring your up-to-date Republic Services bill and your ID matching the bill address to the Cheyenne Transfer Station! The transfer center is at the intersection of N. Commerce and Cheyenne. The public entrance is on N. Commerce and past the utility entrance. There will be a big sign indicating the public entrance so just drive on and you most likely won't miss it. Just pull up to the gate with the bill and ID and they will give you a yellow and pink slip. Drive up to big building to your right and hand the yellow slip to the guard; he/she will direct you to a place to dump your trash. Just remember to bring gloves and wear closed-toes shoes. If you're afraid of the stench, just bring a surgical mask! Yes, it's stinky in there; what did you think? The floor is a little wet and slippery and dirty, so just be careful. But overall, you just back up your vehicle and you unload your trash and that's all there is to it! It cannot be easier to get rid of your trash. You're already paying for this service, so make use of it! read more

Improved signage could help direct first time users, but after finding which building it is, get in line, pay up and pull up to unload. 45 minutes to get past the toll stop at 10:00am on a Saturday morning. 43 dollars for a 6'x6'x12' trailer full of furniture. No freebie for me because I have a California Driver's License. Even though the name on my ID and billing address matched, no dice. Nevada license required for free dumping. All in all, not a bad experience. The smell is not overpowering. I've smelled worse at other transfer stations. Just be patient. Everyone gets a turn. This place will take your money even if you have an account. Got there with a truck load of yard waste and they still charged us. Had I'd and bill and still charged us. They miss our pick up dates so we take it and pay and also pay the monthly bill. Called first and was told that there would be no charge. LIARS! Theifs! Worst service ever!
