Worst waste management in Atlanta. Is not reliable. Doesn't pick up on scheduled days . Doesn't seem like management is responsive.

Missed pickup after missed pickup. They have a customer service line to call, to report missed pickups. I don't know why they have the reporting, because they don't correct the missed picked ups. I wish they are better... Constantly misses or improperly does pickups. EVERYTIME I have scheduled an additional pickup because they missed or improperly provided service, it gets missed again. I'll call for a status and get some explanation and runaround, which eventually leads to my trash not getting picked up. I'll have to wait for their "normal" route to get trash picked up. This is happened to me at least a dozen times already between recycle and regular trash in the last two years. The amount of times I have to stress because I don't have the space for trash because they leave my bin more than half full. If only there are other options. read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!! Just moved into a house, & they would ONLY pick up the broken down moving boxes for $65.00 fee. They also charge OVER twice as much the competition $50/month vs. $20/month (with Red Oak Sanitation). Finally, when I canceled their service after 2 weeks, they charged me for the entire month...NO PRORATED FEE!! I am very Pro-business, but in this case - I hope they go out of busines! read more

Unethical company. Put two weeks of my recycling into a regular trash truck. I pay extra for recycling. I just sent out a message to the entire neighborhood to advise not to use this company. I've got to say that this has to be the worst company that I've ever dealt with. I cannot think of any that have even come close to being this bad. I've spent hours of my time on the phone with this company because of missed pick ups. It is impossible to call the local branch. When you call a local number, you get transferred to a call center. I really feel sorry for these call center ladies-I know they take a ton of calls from upset customers. A few months ago, I finally had a manager in the local branch give me his personal cell number. I really hated it for that guy because I was calling him on a fairly regular basis. I could hear the drop in his voice whenever he got my call. He finally got things running smoothly. Unfortunately he left the company and everything is back to crap again. You don't want to do business with this company, trust me. It's missed pick up after missed pick up and then tons of time on the phone. My recycling hasn't been picked up in two weeks. Today, this company hit rock bottom in my book. After my Friday missed pick up, they told me to put the can back out Monday morning and they assured me that it would get picked up. I was home today to witness my two weeks of recycling, full bin, get put into the back of a regular trash truck. So now this company is unethical as well. I called the local office again and again, got transferred to a call center. I told them that I wanted a call back from an office supervisor. Nobody ever called me back. I'm trying to find the right government agency to complain to now that I've got the recycling complaint. This is just not right. read more

Been with this company for over 13 yrs. My bill was not the issue until it started being increased. But I guess I was shocked when my neighbor told me her bill was over 3 times as much as mine with Republic. But my complaint is after stopping service with them they send me a bill charging me $30 to pick up their bin and also trying to charge me for the whole month of December because I called them to stop service on the 1st and they picked up empty bin on the 8th. I am not paying for the whole month I did not have service with them. Also picking up their bin is part of doing business. I was never told they would charge me for bin pickup and if I would have know that I would have loaded the bin in my own vehicle and returned it myself.They also are charging me a $5 dollar late fee. Late for what. This company is very shady and would never recommend them. I am tired as a consumer being screwed by companies. I understand why people don't want to work for companies anymore. They are tired of being screamed at by the customers for the nonsense these companies are trying to pull and getting a crappy wage while the company makes a huge profit. read more

On a regular basis, they seem to dump my container into my ditch after emptying it. If it is a recycling week, it is about 50% chance that the truck will then hit the recycling container, dump that into my ditch and hopefully someone in my household sees it before the recycling truck comes by. This also happens in the reverse of the containers. They are also notorious for skipping our road 25% of the time until the next day. This then requires that we call the Township, who then calls Republic and then their crew has to work late to come back to get our entire road. read more

Unfortunately- we have had the same HORRIBLE service as the reviews listed below. Same bait and switch and acting like we are crazy for wanting service that was paid for. One rep yelled at me to the point that I asked her "to please not raise her voice as I am the customer." Another rep. (same day) told me, "there is not guarantee that our trash would be picked up this week." This is after a missed pick-up last week and a promised scheduled pick up last Friday for this Monday. It's Tuesday-nothing and customer service, billing, as well as sales could care less and treated me very poorly. Very disappointed and would NOT recommend! read more

I used the service for approximately 3 years and was not displeased with the service but the increase went from $39/qtr to $58/qtr. Quite the increase! When I called to cancel service due to the increase I found out I have to pay yet another $23 to stop my service by way of them picking up the bins! (Which I also had to pay to have delivered 3 years ago). Guess what? They did not pick up up my bins on the scheduled day even though I called twice that day to confirm they would. Can't get anyone to call me back. Can't get anyone to tell me why they didnt get picked up. Customer service beyond the fake voice when you first call does not exist. You are probably tired of reading about my complaints but I do this to hopefully spare you the frustration of dealing with this company. Well, the empty cans are still in my yard over one month after discontinuing "service". The lack of service is another horror story. Customer "service" today says that they will escalate my request. I said that is what you have told me the last two times I called. She replied that no, this is the first escalation request that she shows in t he system! But she assures me she will do this ASAP. So.... You decide... They have missed 3 pickup dates to return the empty cans starting on July 5th. Yesterday was the third missed date. Now I am to put them out for the 4th time on July 24th. There was a time, I had very few issues with my trash pickup. Over the last several years, things have gotten worse and worse while the price goes up every single quarter. My current issue is missed pickups. I put my can out early Memorial Day morning but I was afraid I got it out too late. I left it out all day Monday and Tuesday and it was not picked up. I logged in online and saw that my pickup was moved to Tuesday that week, so it should have been picked up. I just left my can down at the end of the driveway and it wasn't picked up that week. Then, it wasn't picked up this Monday either so I used the Missed Pickup contact form on their webpage. It wasn't picked up Tuesday so I submitted another request. Still no pickup. I call customer service and I'm told that they MIGHT be able to get it by Friday night. Which means, I have THREE WEEKS worth of trash built up. It won't all fit in the cans and for my neighbors sake, I have it in my garage. Unacceptable. It doesn't help that my bill goes up every single quarter. Time to call Peach State Disposal or Southern Sanitation and move on from this disaster. I just wonder if they will ever pick up my remaining trash and get their cans? read more

Well, at least they pick my trash up occasionally. Up until a few years ago, the service was good. Now? Expect to miss at least one pickup a month bare minimum and the missed pickup calls seem to be ignored. As of right now I'm actively looking for a new trash company. In the past month my cans have been emptied one week out of four. I have spent about 15 minutes each day for the past 5 days trying to get somebody to come out and empty my overflowing trash can. The people I speak to when I call to report the missed pick up know about as much as I do as to why the trash is not being collected. There is little to no communication between the supervisor of people picking up the trash and the customer service representatives. They cannot pick up my trash on the scheduled day but they sure as heck can make sure that they get paid on time. There's been absolutely no offer to credit my account in any way based on missed pickups. Now that I'm looking to cancel I also know that I'm about to get hit with a $60 fee to come and get my trash cans. This is ridiculous. I now understand why this company has been reported to the better business bureau numerous times in the past couple of months. The company would have gotten zero Stars if that was an option but since it is not the customer service people over missed pickup at least deserve a star. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Wish I could give negative stars. Called on AUG 11th for service and was told I would receive my bins by pickup on Monday, AUG 17th. NO BINS. Here I am, on AUG 26th AND STILL NO BINS!!!!! We just moved here and have lots of unpacked boxes, etc... that are festering in the garage. I have called and called. The REPS are pleasant on the phone but this has been escalated 4 times. They promise that a local person will call me back within 24 hours each time. STILL NO CALL BACK! This is the absolute worst garbage company ever. After constantly missing service for almost a month calls daily to their call center we finally had to cancel a service. At one point we had three weeks worth the garbage but they have not picked up. When we called to cancel we were at farm there was a $62 can pick up fee. That was part of their terms and conditions. So isn't picking up my garbage not part of their terms and condition and I've been giving them money on time. Half of my neighborhood used to be republic we were the second to last house. There was actually an article online but they were more concerned about Gwinnett county garbage then Walton county. Do not use this service it is not worth the constant headaches. If I had the money to fight them over their $62 fee I would. However I do not have the time or the money take it from me don't use them ever ever. They have a monopoly here on Old Atlanta Road. They know this I am sure. They have people who lie to please you on the phone and they never come through on the promises made. I have been waiting on a recycle can for about 3 months which they stated was delivered over and over. Tuesday they came, broke our can and trash was all over the highway and ditch. My husband had to get out in freezing temps and clean our road and the can is still full AND broken. I called immediately and was PROMISED the can would be off the premises next day to avoid any more strowing. I called back yesterday and was told this would be in urgent status and asked for a manager to call...tic toc...no call as of yet. It is SUNDAY, no can removal, lid keeps blowing open and we have to go down and close and NO CALL...NO PROMISE MET as usual. BBB is my next step. I am over this. If there was a 0 for rating, they would have gotten that rather than the one star they truly DO NOT DERSERVE. I don't recommend this company unless there is no other choice. read more

This waste management company will take advantage of it's loyal customers. In 8 years our rate went from $91-$442 - that is any increase of 283%!!! Republic Services is unreliable and has terrible customer service. After multiple calls due to late trash and recycling pickups, we decided to cancel our service. We requested to talk with a manager and were told one would call us back, but of course they never did. This is the only trash service in our area that leaves trash cans wide open after pickup, which is absolutely lovely when it is raining. This service IS trash. read more

Do not hire this trash company. I bought my first house and hired Reublic to be my trash company. Biggest mistake of my life. This company is a complete joke and fraud. I started my service and received my cans which went well. The first Thursday they were supposed to pick up they didn't pick up my trash. I thought well maybe because I am new to the route they missed me. A few days later I received my first bill and they charged me a hidden fee of 21.99 for fuel and environmental fees. This was NEVER discussed with me when I spoke with the customer service department when I started my services. Don't believe their statement about no hidden fees. That is a blatant lie!! The next Thursday came around and they didn't pick up the trash. They called on Friday evening and said they were coming Saturday to pick up trash. They picked up the trash, but they didn't pick up recyclables. Before this occasion I called to cancel my service because I didn't want to do business with liars and frauds. They couldn't tell me how much my bill would be and threaten to charge me $55 to pick up my trash cans!!!! Today came and they didn't pack up my trash. They said it was because I cancelled my service but my service isn't supposed to end until the end of the month. The other thing is, none of my neighbors had their trash picked up either!! These people suck. We are a condo complex and are charged as a business which means they have a license to steal. It should be called customer disservice. We have a Tuesday morning pickup it's now Friday afternoon. Still hasn't been picked up. We have 5 dumpster enclosures that they forced us to expand at a significant cost since we are now required to have to have 5 white recycling dumpsters AND 5 Organics waste bins enclosed. We have to also pay an additional fee called push and pull for each one. They play a game where the first truck will take out the 10 dumpsters, dump their dumpster then the second truck will push all 10 back into the enclosures after dumping their respective bin. This leaves all 10 dumpsters in the parking lot restricting traffic to one lane until the second truck arrives which could be hours later sometimes days. If left in the parking lot our wonderful neighbors who live in million dollars homes seize on the opportunity to bring their trash to dump, usually putting trash into our recycling bins which Republic then refuses to pick up calling it contaminated and charging us an additional fee to dump as regular trash. Or they overflow out regular dumpsters. I'm the president of our HOA, I've met with their representatives who don't give a crap and attempt to pad the billing by suggesting either an additional pickup or extra dumpsters. If you picked it up when your supposed to that would not be needed. I hired a company to ensure boxes are broken down, recycling isn't contaminated etc. I would have fired them years ago but we don't seem to have an alternative. I have emailed or called company ATLEAST 10 TIMES in the past 3 months. This was due to about 10 missed pickups, and trash being left hanging out of can, etc. I have STILL NOT RECEIVED a call or email back. At the beginning of the month, I got a new credit card and have not updated my account so my bill was declined, Within 1 DAY of my pay being late, of course, Somebody from the company sends a computer generated phone call to let me know, They also have another card on file that could've been used. Now they want to charge me $5 for a late fee and charges for a recycle can that 3 months ago I canceled and they STILL HAVEN'T picked it up. . When they pay me $5 for every missed pickup, then i will pay that late fee. The customer service is horrible. i constantly have missed pickups, phone calls not returned, etc. Tired of it. I switched to this company after a flier advertising a low price. That price was increased within months. Recently I had a recycling missed pickup. I notified them online and my phone 5 days in a row. Each time they said they would notify dispatch. My recycling has been sitting at the street all week. They also always leave the bins in the street. Not on the curb or close. They are literally in the street. This would be funny if it weren't for the missed pickup/incompetency and price increase. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Started service with them for trash and recycle. Week one they did not pick up my recycle, called customer service and was told they would send someone out the next day. Of course they never came...called customer service back and they escalated the claim, never heard from anyone. In the 3 months I had service with them they never once came to pick up the recycling, NOT ONCE. I don't even know how that is possible. When it came time to cancel I was appalled that they were going to charge me to pick up the cans, I was ready to fight it but didn't like my chances of actually talking with anyone who could help so I just decided to pay the bill and wash my hands with the company. I keep getting pulled back into there messes though. A few weeks back I got a random message that I was receiving a refund from Republic which was very surprising, I was hoping that management had finally seen my complaints and was refunding me for not actually getting service. I called the billing dept and was told they did not know why anything was refunded which was not surprising. I didn;t think much else about it until 2 days later when i got an email from Republic that they were going to send me to collections because of money due to them, you guessed it...the money that had been refunded to me. They frequently miss pick up or come a day late. Approximately one month ago new trash and recycle bins delivered. I never requested these. Since then I have place at least three calls to pick up one set. I was promised that today the set would be removed. Not only are they sitting in the same spot , the garbage was not picked up nor recycle. And today is a scheduled pick up day. read more
