I truly cannot say anything negative about this place as it really made our Redwoods trip much more memorable with how cozy the Requa Inn is. I was sad to leave. We were looking for a place to stay during our trip to the Redwood National Park and had planned to drive all along the coast, so needed a base for a few days. We found The Historic Requa Inn in Klamath, which seemed to be a good location as it was central to everywhere we wanted to go, which was key. But I didn't expect it to be as outstanding as it was. We arrived to the hotel before the concierge left, just in time, too, as the hotel doors lock at 8pm. We had no idea until we arrived and were told this helpful information, along with everything else. Since we got into town late, we didn't realize that everything in town was closed for dinner. The kind staff saw us trying to find a place to grab dinner, so he offered us his sandwich. Way too kind of him! Of course we politely declined and ended up eating snacks on our first night, but that just shows you how kind the staff are here. We had breakfast here the following morning, which was delicious. Even locals come here to this hotel restaurant for breakfast, so it's not just guests. The food is very tasty, hearty and is freshly made. I never ate anything here that I wouldn't get again. It was a great way to start our long day of hiking and adventures. Because the hotel was built in 1914, it's historic and charming. All of the hotel rooms are uniquely decorated, so no room is the same. It had antique furniture and decore. The lobby area and bedrooms do not have a TV, encouraging guests to enjoy the simple and classic, as they have puzzles, board games, and books in the lobby area for guests to use. I loved that. I especially loved reading out on the deck, looking out to the river and road. They also offer free coffee, tea and hot cocoa for guests and put out in the middle of the day port that you can pour yourself a glass of and freshly baked cookies. PLUS, since we visited during the Independence Day holiday weekend, the hotel offered guests a complimentary BBQ meal on July 4th! And it was not just standard burgers and hot dogs, they made grilled chicken with different salads, sides and fresh fruit. It was a great way to connect with other hotel guests over this shared, celebratory meal. Our bedroom was very comfortable. It had everything we needed, with wifi, a fan, night light in the bathroom, handmade soaps, a complimentary bottle of wine, tons of blankets, etc. Even though the room didn't have AC, we had no trouble cooling down with the fan and open windows that had fresh air coming through. I also loved that the hotel was in the town of Klamath, with no traffic noise or city lights, so the nights were quiet and peaceful. We really did not want to leave this wonderful hotel. So glad I was able to stay here and learn about the area. I would happily stay here again.

Even though there was some rain ( always expected done rain lol) we had so much fun exploring and showing my girlfriend all my special spots. Then had this cozy place to come back to to sleep. It's very romantic. The people who run it are so kind and helpful. Tge beds are so comfortable, we were plotting hw to get the bed out the window and tie it to my car lol. You also need to have at least one of your meals at the restaurant. Amazing food and wine. Requa is a special place in the heart of Yurok Territory. Which also means it's tough to get ahold of anyone you may need. We arrived around 7pm on Wednesday and found a note on the door to call a number for room info... we called... no answer... we text... no reply. Finally we called and text again about 30 minutes later (we had finally staying on the campground and we're preparing to stay with them) we finally got a code and number for our room. The room: It was nice has everything you needed really, including a small kitchen..only downside was the fridge didn't work. The bathroom is small with no counter space - pedestal sink. There is a small portable fan/heater...when we turned it on it also set off the smoke alarm because it burned off the dust that accumulated on it. The beds were solid...like hard, but not unbearable. The restaurant: The staff was very friendly and the locals at the bar were just as nice! The margaritas are delicious...like dangerously good!! The food is also very good!! We had ribs and a steak. Love that it comes with salad, bread and a baked potato. Overall between the location and the pure beauty of the area - we had a great stay.

The home is beautiful and equipped with exactly what you would need for your time near the water. Klamath access could not be better and for those that want to just get away and absorb nature, this is the spot! Eagles, Otters, Bears (from a distance), Sea Lions, butterflies, Osprey, Herons...the list is long! Wi-fi is fine if you must, but you can certainly unplug! One reviewer mentioned the RV park at the property next door, and they are there, but not in the way, not loud and perfectly lovely neighbors! If you need a fishing guide, let the property owners know, they are the best, and they know their waters (Northern California up thru Oregon). The property owners are responsive and available if you need them. Jimmy knows the history of the area and is an enchanting historian. I will be back...soon!

The closest restaurant was in Crescent City 20 miles away. I wish we knew this before checking in. Also, the blinds were a little thin. When the neighbor room left at 5am, our room lit up with his spot light car lights. If you are traveling along the 101 in northern Cali, sleep here! It's worth it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here from the minute we checked in to the day we checked out! Julie, the front desk manager was friendly and knowledgeable. Our accommodations were warm and inviting! Our room was so spacious! My daughter and I each had our own bed and the birthday girl had her own bedroom, which was attached. Both rooms were spotless! The bathroom was spacious as well! Housekeeping came every day to clean our rooms, even though we didn't request the rooms to be cleaned. The beds were very comfortable. We all slept really well! The air there is so clean and fresh! We ate dinner twice during our stay at the Blue Ox Cafe which is located on the property. The food was delicious each time and our server (she was there both nights) was friendly and sweet! We highly recommend staying at Motel Trees for a cozy, quiet, and fun getaway!

Camp Marigold's garden cottages were perfect and affordable. They are not shiny or new or anything, but they are perfectly functional and well kept and come stocked with a microwave and a fridge. One of the owners even offered to help us cook our dinner and gave us some delicious salmon she had just finished smoking. The cat was friendly though demanding and wanted to hang out with us.
