We have stayed at this hotel every time we have traveled to Boulder and it has consistently provided great service. Very clean, great breakfast, wonderful staff. As a Marriott Bonvoy member for 20 years, I've stayed at a lot of Marriott properties, and I would consider this Residence Inn one of the newer and nicer properties in terms of its overall appearance and setting. The property itself is beautiful, modern, and generally well maintained. Unfortunately, some significant shortcomings kept this stay from being a four- or five-star experience. The showers do not have doors that adequately close off the water, so every time someone takes a shower, water gets all over the bathroom floor. This isn't simply a minor inconvenience. During our stay, our son almost slipped and fell twice in the middle of the night because of the amount of water left on the floor after someone had showered. I understand that some modern hotels use open-concept showers, but there needs to be an effective way to prevent water from spreading across the bathroom floor. Guests shouldn't have to mop up a large puddle after every shower, particularly at a property designed for longer stays where families may be using the same bathroom multiple times a day. What was even more concerning was that, after speaking with one manager after another, it became clear that the hotel is already aware of this issue If management knows that the shower design regularly causes water to accumulate on the bathroom floor and potentially creates a slipping hazard, guests should at minimum be made aware of it. Better yet, the issue should be addressed. These issues point to what I felt was a larger problem with communication and transparency with customers Had I known beforehand that the shower could leave the bathroom floor dangerously wet, especially to the point where our son nearly slipped twice, I would have reconsidered staying here. Aside from those concerns, the property itself is quite nice. The location in Boulder Canyon is appealing, the hotel has the newer Residence Inn feel, and the overall accommodations are comfortable. The breakfast is pretty standard for a Residence Inn--perfectly decent and convenient, but nothing particularly memorable or worth writing home about. I really wanted to like this property more. With some attention to the shower design and better communication with guests about room views and potential issues, this could be a much stronger Marriott experience. read more

My friend and I stayed at this hotel when we visited Boulder for 4 nights. We got the king room with a Mountain View, and it came with an amazing view! The room was very clean and the front staff checked us in quickly. There is $25 charge for parking per day, but they do have an u ground parking garage that connects directly to the elevator which makes it easily to go back and forth. They do have a hotel breakfast which was alright but had plenty of options. The room was spacious enough and the bathroom was great! Only wish there was a shower door to fully close but it was manageable. The kitchen area was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. This seemed like a fairly new hotel and was located in walking distance of many different attractions. read more

I arrived at the Residence Inn frazzled thanks to an experience from hell at Hertz at Denver Airport. But upon stepping up to the check in counter, I just had a feeling everything was going to be okay. To start, the front desk was exceedingly kind and super quick in getting me all set. I had also expected another hotel I'd stayed at previously so when I saw there was an on-site bar and fully stocked mini store at the front, I was pleasantly surprised! But wowwwwww the room was JUST what I needed after a long, arduous day of travel. I was again not expecting an extended stay hotel so the giant desk, huge couch, and fully stocked kitchen were such a welcome surprise! The TV is also huge and the bed was so comfy. Residence Inn is an extended stay hotel near downtown Boulder. I booked the "Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed, Mountain view". The mountain view was more of a partial mountain view. No hidden fees here. No mini-bar either. Kitchenette: not quite a full kitchen. There's a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker, electric stove top with 2 burners, microwave, dishwasher, toaster. OK for light cooking, though it's not a full kitchen. The elevators require key cards. Marriott's mobile key feature works here. Housekeeping is every 2 days. Check-in 4p, check-out 12p. Free breakfast: M-F 6:30a-9a, Sa-Su 7a-9:30a Wi-Fi: free Wi-Fi was 15 Mbps up and down. You can pay $4.95/day for faster Wi-Fi, but the free Wi-Fi was fine. There are some issues though. There was no safe. The curtains were very thin and there were no blackout curtains. The toilet paper was the cheap 1-ply stuff. read more

Overall a great hotel for business and long-term travelers. (Definitely not a luxury hotel for special occasions, though.) LOCATION: Downtown Boulder, but a little far (1 mile) from the cute Pearl St. Mall area with shopping and restaurants. Still plenty of nearby restaurants and coffee shops though, but you'll do better with a car. ROOMS: Large, spacious rooms. I believe all have kitchens with full size fridge, mini stove top, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, and plates. Large standing shower (no tub), with plenty of closet and drawer space for extended stays. SOUNDPROOF: My room (311) was quiet - never heard my neighbors or the street. GYM / FITNESS: Well appointed hotel gym with plenty of cardio machines, free weights, pull-up bar, yoga ball and mats, and water refill. Open 24/7. POOL: Heated pool, great temperature, large enough for short laps (maybe 10-15 yd long?), and also great for relaxing. HOT TUB: Nice sized hot tub, open until 11pm every day. BAR/RESTAURANT: There's a small bar, but nothing to write home about (and it was closed most of the time). There's breakfast included, but no other meals offered at the hotel. There are plenty of places nearby though. SERVICE: Friendly service, quick check-in, and was able to get late checkout. They even let me use the meeting room for an afternoon when it wasn't reserved. OTHER AMENITIES: They have a laundry room! OTHER NOTES: I wouldn't recommend this hotel for weddings, special events, honeymoons, or celebrations. It's more for business travelers. Were locals from Arvada and decided to stay here on Friday night just to get away and enjoy all that Boulder has to offer. The staff is awesome and the hotel is brand new. We always check in early 11am. They had our room ready and when we asked if they were full and could accommodate an upgrade, it was met with "No problem", switched us into a 1 bedroom which we loved! Huge, spacious and very clean. Took lot's of pics so you could see the lobby and breakfast area. Yes it is $18 dollars a night to park. Your car is definitely safe in the garage as it is gated. Pro tip- I took a few pics of the parking lot out back. If you drive around back to the parking garage and you see an open spot, you are able to park there free. Our room overlooked the lot and I saw other guests coming and going with their bags so I know they don't tow from these few spots. Breakfast- Very good. Standard eggs and sausage, but it is Boulder so they also offered scrambled egg whites and turkey sausage on top of traditional eggs and sausage. The ladies working the breakfast area really hustle to keep it stocked and full. My food was just luke warm so not once but two times did I ask for them too zap my plate in the microwave (In back). Again, not a problem. Super accommodating. Bar- Very nice, but pricey. Had one cocktail and the wife a glass a wine. $10 bucks each, but that's to be expected. Solid place to stay! The hotel was convenient, flexible and open late for our very late arrival (after 2AM). Much appreciated as we were not expecting to arrive so late! We didn't really utilize hotel staff very much. We arrived late and had no issues with front desk personnel finding our reservation and completing the transaction. The lobby was nice - had a full bar and nice furniture. The actual hotel room was very nice. Honestly, I wish we could have utilized the space a little more. We arrived so late, it would have been nice to enjoy the very nice kitchenette. Only tiny downside: the shower was a little weird. It had a half door that didn't slide shut so a lot of water escaped the shower area. We'd come back again! :) read more

We had a great two day stay here. Very friendly staff and super clean. Despite the cold weather, the place was warm and cozy. The pool and spa looked to be well used and always had folks hanging around in them. An easy to access computer and printer for use was helpful. The breakfast was nice and always well-stocked. The parking is $20 a night which is not terrible considering you can park underground if you want. It's in a great location across from the mall and nearby all of the Boulder attractions. This hotel is in a great location in Boulder and is definitely a newer Residence Inn. There are a few room configurations but they all have kitchenettes. The rooms are clean, and the linens and towels are solid. The staff is wonderful. We had a puppy with us during our stay, and everyone was very helpful. We were able to get a can opener and some latex gloves and the manager was happy to help us. Extra towels were waiting for us per request on mobile check. The bathrooms are new, modern, and clean with good water pressure. The soaps are from dispensers in the wall that are of better quality than the old little bottles at Marriott properties in the past. The one setback that we knew coming in was $20 overnight parking so be prepared for that if you stay and have a car. We knew that coming in and the underground parking keeps you out of the cold and elements and has direct access to the elevators. We have stayed in Boulder before at other similar level places, but we'll definitely come back to this one on our next trip. read more

Great rooms, superb location and incredible staff! The rooms offer everything needed for a longer stay. The kitchen countertop and wraparound breakfast bar is nicer than you would find in most homes and is a signature piece of each room. Anything you could want is within a block. Easy to get groceries too. 24 hour gym and laundry are unique features of the Residence Inn. If you are staying somewhere else in Boulder it is a second runner up. Most importantly are how the unique and talented staff in all areas of this property contribute to positive experiences that are customized to the interests of the traveler. Everyone had a genuine concern for guests having a pleasant stay, without ever being intrusive. Great at activity advice for sure. I haven't been so unhappy with a hotel stay in a long time. We booked a mountain view room and were given a room with a view of commercial shopping and a parking lot. The only way we could see any mountains was if we directly stood by a window or stood in the middle of the room. If sitting, only the commercial property across the street could be seen. For days while we were there, the hotel was having their windows washed. So for privacy, we had to close the shades. We had repeated problems with our room key on the elevator and upon trying to enter our room. Management also had problems getting their own keys to work. On several occasions, we had to take the stairs three flights up. Maintenance had to be called about our toilet failing to flush properly. Despite hanging a "come back later" sign on our door, housekeeping repeatedly banged on the door wanting to come in to clean the room. We had to politely ask them to leave twice. We called down to the front desk for wake up calls; they either called late or didn't call at all. Worst of all, there was a problem with either the fan or the furnace the entire stay which kept us awake at night. It would click on and off every 3 minutes or so, and after the clicks, a thumping sound would occur. Upon check out, I had not slept in over 36 hours. There was an $18 per day charge for parking that was not disclosed at the time of sale. They also ran my credit card for another $130 without permission and couldn't explain the reason for the authorization when I complained to the front desk. We complained about all of these problems while staying at the hotel and were all but blown off by the staff, Kasey and Brandon specifically. I've written a complaint to the BBB which will be forwarded to their corporate office. After filing the BBB report, the general manager, Laura, got back with me. She apologized for the problems, issued us a $284 bill credit and offered to let us stay there again for 2 nights within the next year for free. In addition, she issued us 50,000 Bonvoy points. This means we can stay someplace else as well for free for 2 nights. This is the only reason I increased the rating from 1 star to 2 stars. Hopefully, our stay will go better next time. If it does, I will happily increase the stars on this review. read more

After an Air BnB experience went bad, Marriott came to the rescue yet again! And this time the hotel was beautiful! I am delighted that we had the opportunity to stay at this location! -Location: Right in the heart of Boulder! It is right by another large, very nice Marriott location, it is on the right before you pull up to the brick one behind it. You would most likely notice the other Marriott as I thought the sign was bigger and the building was a bit more prominent. But the location is perfect for whatever reason you wanted to come! Going out for cocktails, food, etc, it is central to just about anything you want to do!! -Service: Wow. Blew me away. They were able to get us in to a room once our Air BnB went bad. Most likely it helped that my boyfriend was a rewards member, but they were more than accommodating and helpful! They were always very polite when we asked questions or purchased anything from the mart downstairs. Everyone always had a smile and I never felt like an inconvenience. -Room: I believe we were upgraded, not to the president's suite or anything, but it was SO nice. VERY spacious and the bathroom was quite beautiful! We didn't have an amazing view, which is fine since it was last minute and they were so accommodating, however I believe they did mention we had a mountain view. The windows slightly crack open too, which is great for airflow for me especially because the altitude makes me sick and the accessible fresh air was super helpful in helping tolerating the altitude change and made my stay much more comfortable! -Food: Didn't have the opportunity to try out breakfast or the bar. It was a very spacious lounge area in the lobby though, looked like it could be a lot of fun! They did have a large assortment of snacks and drinks available in the little mart by the front desk. -Ease of access around the building: The elevators moved quickly and there were very little hold ups or wait times. But then again, I was there on a Monday night instead of a weekend so it could be a totally different experience. -No one was overly rowdy or obnoxious later on in the evening. They also have a swimming pool and business center which is great for those traveling or there with family and small children (or if you're training for a triathlon??) -Overall my experience was great at this Residence Inn. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful, clean, and accommodating the building, as well as the staff were! I would without a doubt recommend this hotel in Boulder. The price is reasonable and it's less points there than the same one in Denver (or similar). If you're in the Boulder area you have to give this a try!! -Will I be back? Nice room with a view of the flatirons. Had a lovely ada accessible bathroom with roll in shower. New building, so everything was in great shape. Solid and filling breakfast buffet - really appreciated the large amount of fresh fruit available. Surprised to learn on checking out that they had comped us the adjoining room so our son wouldn't have to sleep on the foldout sofa bed. However when we checked in they only gave us the key to one room. Kindly, the morning desk clerk removed our two days of parking charges to help us feel better about their error. read more

I chose this hotel because a) it was close to CU Boulder (we were there with our son for Admitted Students Day) and b) they had a room with two queen beds available (husband is 6'2" so sharing a bed with him smaller than a queen isn't happening). We could not have been happier! The room was quite large, clean, modern, and very comfortable with a kitchenette, couch, and desk. We also appreciated the separate vanity area outside of the *large* bathroom (very convenient when you're sharing a room and everyone is trying to get ready at once). The staff was very friendly and helpful, the morning coffee surprisingly good, and the wide variety of (complimentary) breakfast food was very much appreciated. If our son ends up accepting at CU we'll definitely be back! read more

I stayed here with my friends the other night and the manager claimed we had many noise complaints but decided to tell us at 8am by letting herself into our room with her own keycard while we were all asleep some of us even naked. First off that is not ok and she also should of came and yelled at us at the time we were being loud and not when we were asleep. The manager is extremely rude and unfriendly. Do not stay on the first floor. You will hear every step on top of your head all night long. Management is aware of the problem as there are several reviews that mention it on the different sites, but does nothing to compensate. While we enjoyed our room and stay here overall, the hotel has some shady practices and poor customer service. Our room was paid-in-full by a third-party booking site and we were surprised to later find an unidentified charge for an extra $27 from the hotel. I called them three separate times, each time politely and several days apart, and each time was told I would get a call back from an account manager (I never did). The first two calls they could not tell me what the charge was for, and the third time they said it was an occupancy tax - despite my initial booking including all taxes and fees. It's not enough money to waste more time on, which may be their strategy, but I feel compelled to share the experience and advise others to look elsewhere. I'll also add that they charge $20/night for parking and don't have enough of it on weekends. They will send you to their "overflow lot" - the nearby grocery store. Don't expect your money back on that either. read more

Nice new hotel that is convenient to a ton of things in Boulder (CU, Pearl Mall, and on and on). Rooms are very nice and sizable. The Buff Restaurant is right outside the door -- make sure you eat breakfast or lunch there, even though the hotel offers a free breakfast that is not bad. The only significant drawback is the there is an $18 per night parking fee that wasn't disclosed when I booked the room. I've never been at a residence inn that did that before, and I wouldn't expect to see such a fee unless the hotel was in a "big city" downtown area. read more

My family was made to feel special during our three night stay mazing professional and friendly staff! Beautiful hotel. We've stayed at dozens of Residence Inns over the last decade or so. This was one of the best. We also stayed four nights at the Residence Inn Denver Southwest/Lakewood on this trip. Our stay at that RI was a pleasant experience equal to many other RI's in cities that we've visited over the years. The staff was just as courteous and very helpful. But the staff and facilities at the Marriott Boulder Canyon Boulevard makes it a five star in our mind based on the level of professionalism and courtesy from the front desk management through the bartender, housekeeping and maintenance crew. On our flight back to Virginia, we discussed how happy the people in Boulder are. We encountered wonderful people at dozens of restaurants, shops and even we passed in the city parks. But the Marriott Boulder Canyon Boulevard went the extra mile. Without their efforts, we would not have made our plane because I had left my keys in the swimming pool. The desk staff put out an all-points-bulletin and the staff person who found them returned them with enough time to make our plane. I wish that every Residence Inn was as well designed, build and maintained as the RI-Marriott Boulder Canyon Boulevard. Alas there is only one Denver, and we will have to find another Residence Inn set in city as beautiful and magical as Boulder. read more

First and foremost, if I could give this hotel 100 stars, I absolutely would. My daughter planned a destination wedding in boulder, co. On March 15, 2019. Her MIL set up a block of rooms for this hotel and they have gone absolutely out of their way to make this experience great. Most of the guests had reservations starting Wednesday March 13th which is the day Denver got hit by the worst storm they had seen in a long time. A lot of us ended up having to drive from as far away as Cincinnati and Atlanta because our flights were cancelled. They were obviously understanding that people weren't making their intended arrivals and tried to accommodate the early arrivals on Thursday of the few that actually made into the area before every access road closed. The bride and her fiancé made it in but got blown off the road and got stuck. Luckily a nice local man helped get them safely to a hotel for the night, the brides father also got stuck within the area and was escorted to a church for sanctuary from the storm. The hotel staff were so helpful and accommodating, even to the point where the front desk guy came to our room to help my boyfriend with his tie. I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel and the people who work there. A truly bad experience getting here was more than made up for by the people who work here and their friendliness and helpfulness! Rooms are wonderful and spacious, grandson had a blast in the pool and hot tub, it was very clean and comfortable. Our accommodations were originally set up by spencer, but Reid took over when spencer left and everything was perfect, and a shout out to Brandon at the front desk, great guy, resident tie helper and great conversationalist as we watched basketball in the lobby since our tv only showed toddler cartoons!
