Wonderful staff- friendly bar and kitchen staff. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Walkable area - Kohls, Wegmans, and local restaurants, just a 5 min walk from the hotel. Tiny gym, but has what you need, cardio machines and weights. Room was fantastic. When I opened the door, I actually thought "this must be the wrong room," because it had everything. There was a full kitchen, comfortable living room area, and spacious bathroom. Stayed there on a Tuesday night and was told there was a happy hour with food from 6-8pm. From the looks of it, there was some great snacks and drinks available. Oh, and when I checked in, there was a tray of chocolate chip cookies at the desk. I love all the treats! read more

We were so looking forward to a RELAXING WEEKEND at your hotel. It was anything but. We requested a mobility accessible room but were given a hearing impaired room which was located an extremely long distance from the parking area. I was then informed there was an ADDITIONAL CHARGE for parking. This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS considering that the parking area, which is FREE PARKING at every other hotel I have stayed in, when you return to your establishment later in the evening is VERY DIMLY LIT. My companion and I did NOT FEEL SAFE having to walk from there to our room. Also, for the price charged per room, you MUST BE KIDDING....... While the walls at your hotel are extremely thin and you can hear your neighbors speaking or tramping loudly on the floor above, the COUP DE GRACE was a 5:30AM FIRE ALARM that occurred after we had spent 14 hours on a fall foliage trip to Jim Thorpe, PA. When I called the front desk to ask for a LATE CHECKOUT, I was told it's not customary to get a late checkout for a fire drill. I went back to bed and 45 minutes later received a phone call, which again woke us up, saying we could check out at 1PM. We visit the Wyomissing/Reading area quite frequently but after this disastrous, non-relaxing weekend we never plan to stay at your hotel again. I have found the RI in Reading to be top notch. The place is clean. Everything in the room worked as designed. A decent bar on premise (only drawback is that it's not open on weekends). Ample parking spots for disabled. Specific mention goes out to Jasmine, who was kind enough to make adjustments to my reservation, allowing for an even better stay. Thank you for that! "It was the biggest house in the neighborhood. Ten bedrooms and a swimming pool, Most exclusive residence for sale." (The Kinks) Yes, it was a little challenging to find. It's hidden in plain sight inside an office complex, among a dozen office buildings. One weird thing we learned was that there is almost no parking spots near the door you use to check in. We parked on the side and paraded our suitcases around the building to check-in. This also could be challenging in bad weather or with elderly or stroller aged fellow travelers. But once we made our way to our room, we really loved the Residence Inn by Marriott Reading. We were upgraded (thank you Marriott Visa) to a two-room suite with two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a big kitchen and a nice Living room with a big flat screen TV, a couch, and a work desk. Our bathroom had one of the biggest and best hotel showers I can remember -great water pressure and temperature. Points off, though for the crummy single ply toilet tissue that must have been 4 microns thick. For our included breakfast, we saw cold cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, pastries, juice, waffles and packaged breakfast sandwiches. Would I have liked some fresh fruit for my cereal? Of course I would have but Covid has put that on hold, I guess. All in all this place was fantastic. read more

Pros and cons, but more pros than cons. Rooms are large and spacious. We booked two rooms that connected. Staff were very responsive in advance to make that happen, which I appreciated. It was quiet. We had no issues sleeping. Bathrooms were nice and showers had good water pressure. Coffee was good. Breakfast options were the same every day of our stay. Would have been nice to mix it up on the hot items. I got bored. The sausage at times looked cooked to the consistency of a hockey puck. An annoyance is a $3 per day (per room) parking charge. This is in a suburban area with no competition for the parking area, so I don't understand it at all. We paid $24 in fees for parking. Either incorporate it into the rate, or make it free. Seriously. Last, each room should have bedding for the sofa bed. Instead, I had to go to the front desk to collect linens. Overall a good experience and I would stay there again as the rooms are nice. read more

Very nice staff, especially Justin at the restaurant, Angie in cleaning, and Crystal who does the free breakfast! Clean hotel, but VERY thin walls. I woke up at 3am because I heard my neighbor yawn and even heard his phone vibrating. My other suggestion is that Gold Elites be given the goodies bag like the Titanium members get. Overall, a very good hotel. I would definitely consider returning. read more

Great property, the front staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean and huge with a wonderful temperature awaiting my arrival. The shower seemed to be missing half the door but allowed a nice self peek opportunity in the mirror. I would have given five stars but the ice machine was broken on my floor. I travel frequently and enjoy the ice situations more than most people and I require large ample amounts of frozen gold and I was not given this opportunity read more

There is little sound proofing between shared walls. My neighbor was blaring his TV well into 3am to the point that my headboard was shaking. Front desk was of no use and refused to move me despite having open rooms. Slept maybe 4 hours and had to sleep on the couch to try to get away from the noise. I'm a heavy sleeper too, so this was ridiculous. read more

Meh! Looks new and renovated but not well kept residence inn and the rooms are pretty dirty considering this is a brand new residence inn:( . I mean this is Reading PA so probably will stay in Lancaster and drive 20-30 mins into Reading. read more

It's Jon and Karen. We use to work with Yelp, but retired last year. We spent roughly 240 nights in hotels throughout the U.S. and did reviews on those hotels we stayed with, posting to yelp. Now that we have retired, we don't travel as much and do few reviews. But we stayed at the Residence Inn Reading, Pennsylvania several times in the past couple months and believe they are deserving of this review. We have been greeted by some of the most hospitable staff members ever. Even the AM Clerk offered to help us with our luggage when we got in late a month or so ago. The hotel has a nice lounge in the lobby and always seems to have a dozen or more laughing residents eating from a small menu of tasteful food. They have a nice accessible business center and the pool is always clean/warm. One way to tell how clean a hotel is by it's elevator, in this case, sparkling clean. The rooms are the latest design by Merriott, beds are comfortable, not hard not soft. The entire building is clean beyond belief. Every house cleaner misses something, maybe a piece of food on the table or some little piece of paper under the bed. Not the case here. The rooms are impeccable. Everything in the room is presented with care, right down to the flowers made out of tissues at the bathroom sink. Over the course of the last five years we have stayed at just about every hotel in the Reading, Pennsylvania area. So we believe with can make this statement with certainty. "The Residence Inn, Reading Pennsylvania is the number one Hotel to stay with, when visiting the area for any reason". Jon & Karen read more

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at this hotel. Everyone is very accommodating, and will go to great lengths to insure its guests are happy. This will be my third visit here in the month of July. It is easily accessible to shopping, restaurants and night life. Marriott/ Bonvoy properties are the only hotels in which I have confidence. From Reading, Pa to Los Angeles, I am a fan! The indoor pool in this hotel is a great amenity, but its the people who work hard here that have my vote! read more

Hotel is new, the main entrance isn't visible when driving in. If you have a toddler who needs a high chair, tough luck, I asked the front desk and they said they do NOT have a high chair for my son. Also, the showers don't have a tub, so bathing your toddler is gonna be a challenge. I wouldn't go there again because it is not toddler-friendly. But otherwise the hotel was good. The hotel staff were accommodating when we requested connecting rooms for our family of 5. We also traveled with our small dog ($150 fee). The hotel itself was very nice and in many ways looked very new. The lobby was spacious, and there was plenty of seating for breakfast in the mornings. Our one-bedroom suite was plenty large. Everything was clean and comfortable. I don't have any negative feedback to provide, but just a couple of suggestions. 1) More variety for breakfast options. Breakfast was good, but it was the same items each of the 3 days we stayed at the hotel. They had a nice selection to begin with, but would appreciate greater variety of hot items. 2) I didn't understand the $6 parking fee per stay. You're basically in the middle of a business park. It was annoying. Just provide free parking or include it in the price of the room. 3) We booked 2 rooms and each room only had 2 full size towels, and no bedding for the sofa bed, so we had to ask for both items. read more
