I had a good experience a this DoubleTree hotel located in Downtown Reading, PA. It has virtually all of the amenities you'd expect from the Hilton brand including onsite dining, digital check in and digital keys, fitness center, meeting rooms, pool, etc. There is onsite garage parking connected to the hotel. The room was clean and I appreciate the good customer service. In the vicinity are entertainment options including local bars in West Reading, Goggleworks Center for the Arts, the Reading Pagoda, City Center, and movie theater. Like many small cities, the nightlight turns down at a decent hour, so plan accordingly. I recommend exercising caution in the neighborhood after hours because of crime. Overall, a good experience and one I'd recommend. read more

Nice hotel for events. I've never been to an event here or booked a hotel room before, but I've stopped in to browse the lobby and volunteer in the banquet area years ago. Great for guests and attendees going to the Santander Arena and other venues who have to travel. Also, there's bus parking for buses and a 8-story garage adjacent to the hotel. We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading while attending Ryan's Penske awards banquet that was being held at the hotel, and overall it was a really nice experience. Check in was quick and smooth, and of course we got the warm DoubleTree cookies. I also loved the small detail that when we turned on the TV in the room it displayed a personalized welcome message with Ryan's name. The room was very clean and comfortable, the bed was great, and the shower was large and updated. The hotel itself is also really nicely designed inside with comfortable seating areas and a stylish lobby. We stopped at the lobby bar after the banquet, which was a nice place to meet up with everyone. The banquet space handled a large crowd really well, and the breakfast buffet the next morning was surprisingly good. Nothing overly fancy, but they had made to order omelets, pancakes, bacon, fruit, oatmeal, grits, and plenty of options. The only thing I didn't love was a pretty strong scent in the lobby (almost like an apple-cinnamon fragrance). I'm sensitive to smells so it stood out to me, but I didn't notice it anywhere else in the hotel. Pretty well kept hotel with lots of modern and contemporary decor. Super accesible to the Santander Arena as it's across the street from that frequented venue. Free parking for guests which is excellent and friendly front desk attendants, Nick is very customer service oriented. Has a restaurant on premises that I visited but did not eat at. The bar attendants on Friday night could have been more efficient and talked less amongst each other forgetting about their customers at the bar. Drinks were ok. Rooms are clean, spacious, and with comfortable beds. My only recommendation is that since it's a dog friendly hotel, there should be a little green potty area outside. Hint hint ;) read more

Stayed here for a work trip. The staff was great, parking is easy and the breakfast is awesome. I swear if I ever won the lottery I would have a personal omelette bar every morning with the in-house chef! My room was clean and felt like it was recently updated. The one thing I wasn't impressed with was the TV- I couldn't get the TV guide to work and one of my coworkers noted that one of the elevators smelled weird. Stayed here one night on a Saturday. The place had a free parking garage and easy access to the hotel. Check in was swift and easy by very pleasant staff. And we got our chocolate chip cookies (and my friend was delighted they had gluten free ones for her!). The room was clean, modern and had all the amenities I needed. The only downside was that the view was the parking garage! I forgot to bring my toothbrush, called the front desk, and within minutes someone brought one to my room! The tv worked well- I could even access my Netflix account. I sleep well and woke refreshed. We had breakfast in the dining room (my organization paid the $18, I think). There was everything you could want: fresh juices, yogurts and toppings, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausage along with pancakes and latkes. You could also get an omelette made to order. There was all types of breads and pastries too. Plus coffee or tea- my meal was complete! Although a buffet, service was prompt and pleasant. The restaurant also was clean and neatly laid out. I am giving this hotel 1 star, and that star is solely for the room itself. The room was clean, beautifully maintained, with a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom featuring a great shower. However, the overall experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Parking and Access: Upon arrival, bringing our belongings from the car to the room was surprisingly inconvenient. Parking is in the attached garage, but the elevators there do not take you directly to the hotel lobby. For example, if you're parked on the 3rd floor of the garage, the elevator simply takes you down to a poorly lit, narrow hallway that resembles a construction zone. You must then walk through two heavy double doors to reach the lobby area. There is absolutely no sense of convenience or ease of access. Wi-Fi Charges: We were also surprised to find that Wi-Fi was not complimentary. We were charged $7.20 for basic internet access -- a charge that is increasingly uncommon and disappointing for a hotel of this level. Deposit and Refund Issues: This is where things went from inconvenient to unacceptable. At check-in, we left a standard deposit -- no problem. We checked out the next day and were promptly contacted by housekeeping (who were polite) to let us know we had left a few items behind, which we later picked up at the front desk. However, it has now been three weeks, and we have still not received the refund for the remaining deposit -- $117 and some change, after the Wi-Fi charge was deducted. We've made multiple calls (two per week), and every time we get the same scripted response from different employees, including the accounting manager. We also contacted our bank multiple times to confirm: there are no pending transactions from DoubleTree, and the only refund we have received is the $7.20 (which ironically should have gone to them, not back to us). Staff Experience: When we went to the hotel in person to resolve the issue, we were treated rudely and dismissively. The staff handed us a receipt that shows the Wi-Fi charge, but no mention whatsoever of the $117 deposit. Their condescending tone and the way they addressed our concerns -- as though we were incapable of understanding how a bank transaction works -- was insulting and unprofessional. Final Thoughts: Between the poorly designed access from the garage, unexpected charges, lack of transparency, and unhelpful staff, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had. The room may have been great, but the service and policies overshadowed any positives. I will not be staying here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to others. read more

Beautifully prepared and decorated conference room which was clean, spacious and aesthetically welcoming. The prepared libations were fresh, plenty and nicely presented. All meals between both days of our meeting which were served were both mouthwateringly delicious and fresh. They were served at a perfect temperature and the presentation was perfect. Every person in our pleased with the selection as well as their meal. We all also loved the appetizers, which did not last long. Wait staff were efficient, prompt, courteous and attentive. They demonstrated a superior standard to work ethic and professionalism. I must state that this seemed to be true for all staff which I encountered from the hospitable entrance greeters as well. There is definitely a high standard for maintaining the quality of cleanliness and appearance that is apparent even in the adjoining parking garage. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked as well as nicely decorated. Hallways are adorned with vibrant displays which may be purchased in support of local artists. Lounge areas appear to be inviting, clean and comfortable. If I were an out of town visitor I would definitely give this place an opportunity for an overnight stay. I had heard two people from our meeting state that the only fault was their room was in close proximity to an elevator which resulted in a less than relaxing night due to heavy foot traffic. I had a wonderful stay at his hotel for several nights. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. All of the staff from check-in to checkout were friendly, courteous, and attentive. The breakfast buffet was absolutely exquisite; in addition to your typical breakfast fare, it included items such as pasta salads, rice & tofu, and cheese & raw veg. An omelette station was also available. Parking was easy in the attached deck which was validated at the front desk. Security was present but not obvious. My only complaints would be no guest laundry facilities available, and at least in my room, no television portal/guide was accessible. I've visited this hotel a few times for events and a conference but last night we stayed for the night for the first time. Wonderful service!! The front desk staff were nice and helpful. And the room was clean and roomy enough for two adults to be in without being on top of each other! I liked the little chaise in the room as a nice alternative option to sit on instead of the desk chair or bed. We got room service right before 10 and it came quickly and was okay. Not great but we weren't hungry anymore. The breakfast was so good the next morning! They really put out quite a spread. Wasn't missing anything I could think of. Booked a room with a king size bed. Checked in, all good. When we got to the room, it wasn't a king size but 2 double beds. Called the front desk, they said not much they could do. Had a very uncomfortable night's sleep as a couple. As we checked out, I asked to talk to the manager, the front desk person literally froze. I asked about the room, to which she said, "it happens all the time" and that "at least we had a room". No apology, nothing. Don't book rooms if you don't have them actually available. read more

This review is for the restaurant inside double tree hotel. We came to visit family friends that live in Pennsylvania. It was Christmas day and we met up here--i think a lot of the surrounding restaurants were closed. The atmosphere was nice, and the table was set up nicely. The hotel was beautiful when we walked in, and the customer service was great! Unfortunately, our food was unimpressive. First, it took a while to get out--and I understand for a party of 8 it would take a long time. However, the quality of the food was meh. I got a thai grilled chicken salad and another person in out party got the southwestern taco salad. Both were HUGE...like could feed 2-3 people as an entree huge. I couldn't even finish 1/4 of mine. My salad was edible, but not something I would order again. Some of my family members ordered burgers and I had a bite...but the burger was overcooked and bland, so it was hard to eat. I was told by the hosting family that the manager is a part of the "second chance program" and hires employees for a second chance, and I think that's pretty amazing. Came back for a weekend stay for the Berks Jazz Fest. This hotel is the newest and one of the best in Reading and also serves as the host hotel for the event. The staff are always professional and courteous! Check in and out was effortless as usual. I love that warm chocolate chip cookie they give you at check-in! The room was impeccably clean and the toiletries were from Crabtree and Evelyn, should I say more? As this hotel is located near the famous Reading Railroad, the management was considerate enough to provide complimentary ear plugs as the train can be disturbing during certain times of the night or early morning. The breakfast buffet, located in Cheers Restaurant, is one of the best, if not the best in Reading. Hot and cold food items too numerous to name. Staff there courteous as well. The lunch and dinner items are also great. They have a bar on-site, Cheers, which serves reasonably priced drinks and bar food. It was also the venue that the late night DJ performed for free on Friday and Saturday night during the festival, which was a treat! The ballrooms, which were used as venues for some of the jazz concerts, were state of the art, with the grand ballroom having a top notch sound system, 2 large HD monitors to project the live shows and comfy seating, which is always welcomed. Parking is comp for guests and located adjacent to the hotel via elevator or stairs. They also have free shuttle service, which is a great for going to the other concerts in the vicinity if you didn't want to drive, go to the local mall or other establishments within a 5 mile radius. As the host hotel, you were subject to run across many of the talented musicians performing there, which I did do (selfies were taken as well!) Although Doubletree is a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area, I choose to stay only here for this festival as it is the host hotel and close to all of the action of the festival. read more

This hotel is very clean and very quiet. It was perfect for an overnight with my daughter when we went to a concert at Santander arena. It was four degrees outside, we were able to just walk out the front door of the hotel into the front door of Santander arena. It couldn't be more perfectly placed. In addition the checkout is at 11:00 a.m. which is a little later than some hotels. And the free breakfast goes until 11:00 a.m. as well. Highly recommend and definitely worth it if you're going to a show in Redding! The remodeled showers were just delightfully clean. And the staff was really friendly too!!! read more

I was here April 4-6 2025 for the Berks Jazz Festival. This hotel was the main hub for the event . For $540 a night I had stained pillow cases . For $540 a night the bathroom was not clean . For $540 a night breakfast was not included . For $540 a night it didn't include a microwave and / or refrigerator. For $540 a night I had to clean my own room because when I asked for a supervisor to get my room cleaned I was given the runaround until finally they said it was Nick. Nick was nothing short of nasty rude never resolved the issues in fact he said what you want me to do about it ? We too busy for this !!!! My room was never cleaned . I asked him for his supervisor he told me Chasity said they don't give last names out . I was forwarded to her voicemail and has yet to return my call . For $540 a night there should be a measure of cleanliness, perks and respect for your patrons . To falsely advertise amenities and breakfast and don't deliver is nasty work. To have staff as managers that are condescending to your customers is nasty work. To have staff as managers that refuse to resolve and ignore issues is nasty work. For someone that is a Hilton member and traveled often this was my worst experience to date . read more

Our room was clean and comfortable with no signs of wear. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel provided a shuttle back and forth which helped a lot for some of our fellow guests who enjoyed the open bar too much :)!! Excellent decor! The bar was super cute with a nice comfortable area directly ours she. Made it more quaint. The parking is easy to get in and out of. The only issue we had was at checkin. Our rate was for government and was made using the Hilton app. When we arrived they needed papers indicating our travel purpose. This was not stated on the app and it had not been an issue in the past. The front desk manager gave us the going rate and apologized for the inconvenience, but couldn't provide our rate to us without the letter. Overall, great stay and would highly recommend it! Apparently there's some kind of stadium or something across the street, so if you're going for that purpose, this is your place! read more

My family had a great stay in December. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a corner suite with a view of the Santander Arena on one side and downtown on the other. The hotel is located next to train tracks. Our room faced the tracks across the street. A train did come through every night, but it wasn't too late and it was fun for my daughter to watch. They did provide disposable ear plugs on the nightstand if needed. The pool was nice. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was excellent. The breakfast buffet had many options like eggs, meats, biscuits, pancakes, fruit, cheese, yogurts, fresh pressed juices, an omelette station and more! We stayed during the week and it wasn't busy, but when we left Saturday morning, there was a long line to get in. Parking was easy and convenient in the attached garage and validated by the hotel. Stayed here a night for business. Self parked the car in attached garage and front desk validated parking. The decor is modern and beautiful. Front desk staff ladies were very nice and helpful when looking for places to eat. I also had some horrible blisters from wearing heels and walking earlier and they gave me some first aid items, which was so sweet! Room was beautiful and comfortable. I ate with a coworker downstairs in Cheers. I had the biggest pork chop ever there. It was delicious. And again, great service. I am also now addicted to the welcome cookies. GUESTS BEWARE! my actual hotel stay was fine so it's a shame it's been tainted by this bad experience after the fact. for the first time in my life, I left some belongings in my hotel room after I checked out- a hoodie and three pieces of jewelry. I realized this the following day and immediately called the hotel and was instructed to leave a message for housekeeping, the dept that handles lost & found, which I did. Never heard back so I called back a couple days later and left another message. Still nothing. Spoke to a guest service manager twice- still couldn't get an answer. I ended up calling the hotel a total of 7 times over the course of a week in order to get an answer on whether they found my items. Finally spoke to a guest service agent who cared and they let me know they found my hoodie which was great but I was more concerned about my jewelry which is worth considerably more money. They told me no jewelry was found which means one of their housekeepers is pocketing items they find. Not only was the jewelry expensive but also sentimental, I am considering filing a police report against the hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone but if you do decide to stay here, lock up your valuables!!! read more

This specific Doubletree (apart from The Plaza in NYC) is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. between the well kept bathrooms, comfortable beds, linens, staff, and beautiful areas to congregate and relax, the breakfast, restaurant and bar were fabulous! even the parking was convenient, safe and free. This place is above its normal class level. The people are ridiculously friendly and helpful. It's pleasant to see smiling helpful people. The hotel itself is beautiful. It's well decorated. It's very clean. The bar was busy, but still very friendly. The room was very nice. The showers were awesome. The bed was fluffy, and comfortable. The only issue with this place is the train that comes through. It comes somewhere around 4am. They leave earplugs in your room to combat it. Other than that, this place is pretty awesome! read more

The property stands out with a stylish decor and excellent service in the heart of what appears to be a socioeconomically depressed area. That being said, it has been extremely easy to stay on property as the bar and restaurant staff are pleasant (Chris advised he appreciated us daily!), the food and drinks were delicious and the ambiance is pleasing. This is, by far, the best DoubleTree I've experienced! They even validate your garage parking ticket every time at no cost. Almost wish I had to come back to Wyommising someday for work again....almost :) Update: Today our company had an issue with operations at the local office location due to a water main break and water contamination. This property, being outside the impacted area, was amazing in our time of need! They sourced and set-up meeting space for 24 people allowing us to relocate our entire training session as well as made available 12 guest rooms so employees who traveled in could remain as their original hotel was impacted by the water issues. We were regularly checked on to ensure everything met our needs and the office staff worked seamlessly with our staff to execute the changes as crisp as possible. The level of service provided by the team here assured my peers and I maintained an air of professionalism and excellence in behalf of our company for our learners. The room air conditioning wasn't working. I had the thermostat at68 and I was sweating. Maintenance came put the thermostat on 64 I was still sweating I asked for a late checkout and ended up checking out early. I let the manager know he only said sorry and have a good day. read more

The Double Tree Hilton in Reading was a phenomenal hotel with impeccable service, modern decor and finishes, and a lively bar and restaurant with high quality food and drinks. I was in town because I was attending a concert across the street. The location could not be any better; you are literally steps away from the concert venue and arena. The restaurant proved to be the most convenient option because we needed a quick dinner before the show, and then continued the experience with martinis at the bar after the show. Many of the concert goers also had drinks at the bar after the concert, and the hotel really went out of their way to form a community with the concert audience. Furthermore, the next day there was a hot breakfast buffet which was included without any charge and the food and service were wonderful. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. read more
