For most of our stay, we genuinely thought we had found our new go-to hotel for frequent South Florida visits. The location is hard to beat, with a Pollo Tropical next door, an Ale House within walking distance , and a grocery store close enough to stock the kitchenette, which is always a nice perk when traveling. The rooms were clean, the lobby bathroom was surprisingly well maintained, and the separate vanity setup made getting ready much easier when two people were sharing the room. Unfortunately, the last 24 to 30 hours turned what had been a pleasant stay into something much different. Mid-shower the water simply stopped working, leaving us standing there wondering whether we were at a Marriott or somewhere that operated on prepaid utilities. Later that evening, we returned to find a sizable police presence in the lobby. Staff assured everyone that everything was fine, but it definitely felt like we had arrived just before the next episode of a crime drama. The final blow came when the elevator stopped working, and despite being assured it would be repaired by morning, checkout day arrived with the elevator still out of service. Carrying luggage down three flights of stairs is nobody's idea of a good start to a travel day. It's disappointing because this property was remarkably close to earning a regular spot in our South Florida rotation. read more

Not bad at all. Location is great to both downtown Fort Lauderdale, DelRay, Pompano as well as Miami. Even though it's right off a busier road it is extremely quiet. There are ton of restaurants in the neighborhood as well as grocery stores and shopping. The rooms are huge and the kitchen is nicely organized with appliances and dishes. I did not love that we had booked a room for four and they only have king beds and to pullout couch. The pullout couch bed option was less to be desired. You can definitely tell this is a place where people tend to stay longer-term as people really take care of keeping it clean. For example outdoor grills at hotels are typically disgusting but this one was not only huge but very clean. The breakfast was wonderful and they had everything from fresh fruit to warm dishes, waffles, and so forth. The pool wasn't as warm as we had hoped for but nonetheless, it was used by all. I didn't love that the water cooler in the gym wasn't filled the entire time we were there, so I finally asked on the last day. read more

Stayed 1 night each pre/post cruise. Hotel quality/cleanliness average. Service below average. Both stays, room not available by stated 3 pm check-in time. Told multiple times "only 10 more minutes". Since it happened twice in same week, asked if they could add some extra Bonvoy points for the inconvenience. Was told "yes", the manager agreed to that. However, no points were ever added. Will definitely book elsewhere next time if we cruise out of Port Everglades. read more

I've spent thousands of nights in hundreds of hotels, and this is undoubtedly the worst business I've ever dealt with. From being ignored for 5 minutes when I approached the desk, as the associate was on the floor behind the desk rummaging through a box. No acknowledgement, I'll be right with you, none of that. To being handed off to a trainee so he could help the Spanish speaking people who came in after me, but were checked in long before me. The real issues though were these. First, I was told by the trainee that my room rate was $40-50 more than the reserved rate. After mentioning that shouldn't happen, it came down to about $30 more. The first associate then explained that a reservation is not a guarantee, but merely a suggestion, a reference. The reservation guaranteed me a room (more on that in a moment), but not a rate. I tried to explain to both of them that Marriott has a guaranteed reservation for rate and room type, and they couldn't charge me more on a whim. They weren't going to back down, so I told them to charge me whatever was necessary, as I would call Marriott directly and sort it out after the fact. I showed them the reservation on my phone again, they punched a lot of keys on the computer and miraculously "found" my AAA rate on the computer, handing me a key... ...to a room that was not at all what I reserved. It seems there are 3 types of rooms at this property - one with 2 queen beds, an open floor plan studio with a king, and a suite type, with a king bed in a separate room, with a door between the bedroom and living area. I know. I looked when I booked. I looked again when I went in to the assigned room. I've looked over and over again at the descriptions and pictures on the website while being berated by the general manager. I booked a suite, at a premium price, not the studio I was given at the lower price. Here's the biggest issue. When I went back to the front desk to rectify the situation, explaining that I had booked a suite but was given a studio, the front desk agent told me, "THE MANAGER TOLD US TO TELL YOU that every room is a suite." Hmmm. Curious. The room that costs less to reserve is the "same" as the one that costs more? Nope. After going back and forth for many minutes, they finally admitted that some had "a different floor plan", but none of those were available. I sat down and called Marriott to explain the situation to them. They contacted the hotel directly and was told that there were king suites available, just as I had reserved. After explaining to the agent that I had no intention of doing business with a business that treats customers as I had been treated, they were able to cancel my reservation and help me find another place to stay. The Marriott agent helped me file a complaint against the hotel. The general manager responded the next day with an apology that "upgrades" weren't always available and couldn't be guaranteed. She kept telling me how busy they were, sold out most of the time, and that premium rooms commanded a premium price. Suspicious. I've never dealt with a manager so condescending, insulting and clueless. The hotel did offer me a few points, but I have yet to receive a response from Marriott directly or the guaranteed recompense, so here I am to recommend you avoid this place altogether. To me, there are but two explanations. One, gross incompetence. The front desk staff are so poorly trained as to be incapable of doing their job. They were anything but friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, or any of the hallmarks of good employees in the hospitality field. Two, fraud. The front desk staff both try to charge me substantially more than my guaranteed reservation. Then they assign me to the cheapest room type in the hotel, try to tell me all the rooms are the same, tell me nothing else is available, on a night when they are sold out and walk-ins are paying twice what I was. I have spent the last two weekends at different Residence Inn properties. My suite in the Ocala hotel was modern, tastefully decorated and had an open floor plan. The Weston hotel is an older property and it hasn't been renovated yet. The staff is excited about their upcoming renovation and I'm excited for them. My suite was dated, the carpeting had a few stains and I had trouble with the shower. It was either hot or cold, there was no in between. It was a bit disappointing after staying at an ultra modern property the prior weekend. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. The kitchen did not have the granite or stainless steel appliances like the Ocala hotel, but it was clean and that's the most important thing. This is a three star property but they deserve the extra star because the staff was amazing. Corey, OMG, Corey...he was my hero. He took it upon himself to unload my trunk, place it all on the luggage cart, check us in and then personally deliver it to our room. At the Ocala property I was on my own and had to schlep my luggage to the second floor myself. Where the Weston hotel lacked in modernization, they definitely made up in personalized customer service. Corey was so helpful and I can't thank him enough. The breakfast buffet included fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausage links, scrambled eggs and cereal. I had the fruit loops. Cereal is always a safe bet & it's my favorite go-to when I can't find anything else. Aside from the shower issue and a few carpet stains, I have no other complaints and I'm sure the hotel will be beautiful after the renovation. The desk clerks were all super friendly, but the star of the show was Corey. The fourth star is for the entire front desk staff-without them this would be a three star rating. Overall the day to day staff here is kind, personable, and friendly. A HUGE emphasis on these positive traits comes from Zach, the breakfast staff, and the younger ladies who worked during the evenings. The management, specifically the GM, Raul, could use some better customer relation and recovery skills especially for long stay guests. During our work stay in Weston, my family and I (myself, wife, infant daughter, and our cat) stayed at this location from November of 2023 through May of 2024. We never had house keeping come by on a regular basis (which was no issue) we simply would get the things we needed when needed, and tidy ourselves. This included toiletries, vacuuming, trash bags, etc. and housekeeping was always beyond kind to assist at any request. The problem came when we would leave town to go to the keys, or travel home for 2 different funerals and we requested full service yet no one ever tended to our room. Now in the last month or so of our stay apparently a new manager took over and weekly room checks became "enforced". Now, during these there was never a full service done by housekeeping or any type of complaints issued from anyone at the hotel. Come our checkout however this was a different story...my wife cleaned the room top to bottom, stripped the beds, wiped down mirrors, swept the floors, gathered the trash, and made sure the room was in decent shape. Now mind you after paying our initial $150 pet fee which covers the cost of cleaning there was an additional unauthorized $250 charged to my card without any explanation/evidence provided (although requested multiple times) due to "additional cleaning" that was necessary. Upon contact my Marriott ambassador I was informed that they took photos, as did we, but would never provide or even reach out to discuss said claims. The management here definitely feels to be lacking, inconsistent, and not at all concerned with return guests or brand loyalty when individuals have stayed with Marriott for the last 18 months. So do be warned when coming here, the residence inn down in Miramar was light years better according to my colleagues who stayed there. Also be warned there is an undisclosed $5 fee for each package you have shipped here which the Caucasian woman at the front desk will very adamantly press is on their website and is from the "owners" of the hotel but I have never had this across any Marriott I have stayed at across the country. Do yourself a favor and keep going south to Miramar's residence inn. read more

We came here for 5 nights. We had already requested bassinets for my twins and confirmed with them over the phone for them. We checked later in the evening and we're told they could not give them to us now and we will have to wait till the next day. The carpet of the room was disgusting almost black with filth. There were pizza boxes lying in the room of the previous customers. There was smell of urine in the bathroom. When we asked for a room change we were told to wait till morning. Next day the new room they gave was equally bad. We complained that my kids cannot crawl on such dirty carpets, if a cleaner room can be given. The general manager said there is a newly shampooed room he can give us.A front desk lady called us and said that there is a newly renovated room with wooden floors. We went to check the room. Initially the general manager Mr. R refused to accept they had such rooms but when I insisted that his staff called me to tell me about it ,he agreed to show us the room. We really liked it as it was clean. By the way we also looked at the newly shampooed room he was to give us. It was filthy and smelly. We and the general manager agreed for the renovated room. We told him kids are hungry we will grab food and then shift. He said that is fine. When we went to get the key he refused to give us that room and said he has given it to someone else. Not only that he was rude and very unapologetic. I had packed my bags with 3 young kids and this man just went back on his commitment and refused the room. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. This hotel is not what I expect from a Residence Inn. It needs an overhaul! Everything is old, dated, dingy. The table in our room looked like a dog had chewed the leg. The carpets were stained. They seem to be understaffed. The young man who checked me in was pleasant but seemed to be new and not able to answer my questions or give directions at all. It wasn't bad enough to change hotels-beds and bathrooms appeared clean, but I won't be back. Breakfast-Just don't. Perhaps a banana, oatmeal or bagel might be ok but the rest-NO. The only positive for us was that The Cleveland Clinic is literally across the street. read more

Run down, '90s decor, poorly managed, trashy. Rooms are dimly lit until you turn on the warehouse grade fluorescent ceiling light! The first room we were checked into smelled heavily of smoke and dog urine desperately trying to hide behind a thick coating of Frebreez. The bathroom light flickered curiously until it finally gave out, and one of the closet doors wouldn't even move. The beds are so old and saggy they should be considered hammocks, the linens approaching thread bear condition. The property is located in a commercial area, close to the freeway. This makes it convenient, both for guests, and the drug dealers who routinely cruised by in their blacked out Toyotas and Nisans. As a result, during my 10 day stay, BSO officers were in and around the parking lot on a regular basis. What fun to watch! The breakfast bar offers the usual hotel fare, and is regularly visited by at least two non-guests from the local neighborhood who every morning helped themselves, leaving out the back door with 7-8 full 'to go' trays to share with their friends neighbors. The manager leaves her Jaguar conveniently parked (for her) in the handicapped spot closest to the front door, 7 days a week. BTW, she doesn't work weekends just so you know. The coup d'gras: by mid way through the stay, the hotel had taken deposits on my Amex totally MORE THAN TWICE THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE STAY. While Amex correctly settled it all out over the week following check out, this manager knows exactly how to manipulate the merchant card network rules, using your money at no cost to fund who knows what! My opinion: stay somewhere else. read more

They advertise under Cleveland Clinic and have a shuttle to take you back and forth. However the shuttle ends at 2:30 if you have an appointment after that your stuck. I was advised take uber you can't walk across that street. Apparently the shuttle has changed since last visit. The breakfast is a grab a bag no buffet as advertised early morning 7-9 range. I Understand Pandemic but a cold donut doesn't cut it and a box if milk. I will stay elsewhere in the future. read more

This is a place I've stayed in last night prior to a work function in Weston. The staff is friendly, the amenities are modern and clean, and it's conveniently located near a strip mall and a 24 hour Walgreens. If you're not aware, the Residence variant of the Marriott gives you an apartment style format for your room. You get a room with a full kitchen, which includes a refrigerator, a dishwasher, an oven with a stovetop and a kitchen sink. It's actually kind of cute. Certainly worth a check in if you're in the area. read more

I'm not sure how old this place, but they keep it nice and clean. House keepers do great job here. It is Residence Inn, and nothing special about it. You get semi-big room with living quarter and bed room separated, plus regular size kitchen actually bigger than my homes (sadly). Staff members are very friendly and good peeps, I really like them. I ask something and they deliver. The only minor beef: this is dog friendly hotel, so if you / your fam has dog allergy, stay the heck away. It's nice the ER equipped hospital was down the street for us. Pool is small. there were bunch of juveniles staying, and they were taking over the pool like own house, all small kids had to run away. Lastly, as a photo shows, this place gets swamped easily after rain. When I stayed the downpour caused the entire parking lot to be flooded and there was no way I could walk back to the building without taking my dress shoes off. Deepest point was almost 10 inch high water. They need parking lot shuttle boat. Seriously. read more

Hands down the friendliest staff outside of a 5 star hotel. Hotel is nice, but a little older. My room had a small stench. Overall the staff is amazingly nice, and tasty free breakfast. Nice running trails (they provide you a map) and property has access to a real nice gym a few blocks away. Lot of good restaurants close by.. The cost per night is pricey, and the light stench could not allow me to give this hotel 5 stars. I would, however stay here again. read more

This hotel popped up with good reviews (on their site) - so I popped over to Yelp and checked it out. 4 stars from fellow elites - I'm in. And they weren't wrong. I checked in on my mobile app the day before - so when I walked in, they were ready with keys for me. I was greeted by a friendly staff member (Kyle?) and he gave me the run down. Really, I was here for one night, and he told me next time to make sure I would be here Monday-Thursday for social hour for free booze. I love Marriott. I made it to my room and dropped on the bed as I was beat. The room was in perfect condition - just as I had requested (no feather in the room - I'm allergic), extra towels, etc. The next morning, I came down for the free breakfast and was directed to a table. It was pretty hopping, but I was able to get some sustenance and grab a quick bite before heading out. My same greeter was still working and thanked me for staying, by name. That is Customer Service, folks, and it is why I will stay here again when I visit my client in the spring. As they say - Boom! read more

Rug old and stained, furniture old and chipped up, room phone face plate ripped off, bathroom tub filthy, bathroom tile grout filthy, door wall protector gone, elevator out of order. There is hair in our sheets for the second night in a row, black hair, which nobody in my family has. Also the hallway smells disgusting. No, no, no. The room was covered in dust. The smell of musty/mold/mildew couldn't be dissapated even after three days of 24/7 open windows. The clean towels were more crunchy and less fluffy. The pool was never clean (from huge palm at check in to the toy airplane floating in the hot tub for three days). Main room was missing a screen on the window. Front desk hordes the "free" newspapers. Freinds of ours were down the road in another extended stay hotel and we had such envy over their location. All these issues were brought up at the front desk but the "oh, sure" reponses were as honest and heartfelt as the lack of action on every point. read more

As someone who has stayed in many hotels I am very disappointed in this Marriott. Whoever designed these dark halls and carpet was way off, it feels claustrophobic and creepy. In addition, the AC was loud enough to keep us up all night. To top it all off, went down for breakfast just to come up and find the room key wasn't working. Went down to front desk twice to get new keys- which didn't work. Finally we had to request someone come up with us to open the door because we refused to go back downstairs again... and the elevator was out of service. I'll go with Hilton next time. read more

This is more of a complaint against Marriott Corp then this individual hotel since I believe they are the source of this abuse. Reserved a room five days from May 20th-25th. Reserved and paid through Hotels.com ($829). When I arrived at the hotel clerk asked for my credit card. Told her I had already paid. She says "I know that. Just need it to hold a $100 for incidentals". When I checked my credit card statement she had not charged $100 but $800 to my MasterCard! Complained to front desk and after contacting Hotels.com was promised they would reverse the charges. They didn't, claimed it would take 5-10 days which is a absolute lie. Finally got them to reverse the charges the last day of my stay after complaining to everyone (Marriott corp, Hotels.com) over and over again. They tried to blame it on a clerk mistake. NONSENSE! Yes, the clerk lied to me and double charged me for the room even though she knew I had already paid but you can't convince me that was her decision. The most likely source is a Marriott Corp. scam to cheat customers. Double bill, hold the funds for 5-10 days, collect interest on your money for the time and if you don't catch the charge in time they get free money. Do that to thousands and thousands of people it is a nice scam. I understand that Marriott is not the only company running this scam. Check you credit card bill and if you have been double charged DON'T let them tell you it takes 5-10 days. You know that is BULL$hT. read more

While it was our fault completely that we left two items in our room, we did not feel the staff at all cared. We called that day of check out and was told someone would look right away and call us back. No one called. Same for the next day. I tried to call two more times but the phone just rang and disconnects at 2 minutes and 16 seconds. I called once more and was told they did not have it in the lost and found. One item was a toiletry bag and the other a laptop cord. The cord is probably still in the room but Kayla refused to check. The housekeeper should save all items and not throw out (I can't imagine she kept the toiletries). read more

One thing that really stands out about this hotel is its customer service. I saw a few front desk staff besides checking in and out since I made frequent trips to the lobby, all of them were very friendly and nice. The maintenance person I passed by in the hall greeted me. Cleaning person who was working on the garbage bin smiled, greeted, and held the door for me. So, I was very impressed and assumed it must be a good place for the employees to work and it is a very good thing for the hotel guests. One of the staff named Anna, gave me FIVE STAR customer service and was very knowledgeable about every question i asked her. I am a sales manager and travel for a living. I am currently at the Residence Inn getting ready to check out later today after a 3 week stay here. I was here for a surgery and brought my family down while i recouped from it. This staff from top to bottom treated my family like their own. While I was fighting for my life they went out of their way to knock themselves out to make my family feel welcomed and taken care of. I woud like to single some of them out, but honestly everyone from the staff who put together the immaculate breakfasts to the front desk, to housecleaning, couldnt have been more helpful or been more accomadating. Money was not an issure and was willing to move my family to the best hotel in the area, when my wife refused to even think about it because she was so happy, it was such a peace of mind. The front desk helped me with cab rides to the airport, dinner arrangements, etc, and never once did i feel like it was a play for a gratuity. Who ever the Manager of this property is, needs to write a book on hiring and training hotel staff. The rooms are extremely clean and bed comfortable as can be. Amazing Service! My wife and son stayed at this hotel over Valentine's Day weekend. I called the front desk (from my house) to see if I could have something sent to her room for Valentine's Day (like chocolate or candies etc..) They didn't have much in their lobby, but the guy on the phone (Donnie) offered to run out somewhere and pick up some goodies for my family! He did so and left it in their room.
