I stay here frequently when I come back home to visit. It's a nice facility, usually has a great staff, and I can bring my Labs with me here so it's always a plus! I recently had an aunt and a sister die of cancer, within a day of each other. My aunts funeral was this past Monday 6/3/19 so I had to come to Flint. My girlfriend(who is a Titanium Lifetime Member) reserved 2 rooms for my mother, siblings and I. When I got there to check in the rooms were not available for us. I could've been belligerent or upset with it, especially considering the circumstances for our visit. But the gentleman at the desk "Chris" was very professional and accommodating. He contacted the Courtyard and got us 2 rooms there, not as big or as nice, but we got our rooms. We were really disappointed but Chris was so helpful and contrite about the unavailability I couldn't leave the 1 Star I wanted too. So the 4 stars im leaving are just for Chris. Because I Received a call before I left Columbus verifying that the rooms were available, then I get there and they are not. I reserved my stay at this residence Inn on 6/27 to attend a funeral service on 7/12 the room I reserved was a 2 bedroom suite. My family and I were traveling from Arizona my arrival was 7/11 when I went to check in the receptionist told me the manager had canceled my stay due to a construction company coming and she put a block on all the rooms, and there was nothing she could do for me. This manager canceled my room and didn't even notify me. It took me until the next morning at 1:30am to finally get a room my parents sister and my three-year-old nephew, had to sleep in the car because of their lack of consideration for their guest. I booked a 2 bedroom suite for $430 due to this situation I had to booking 2 rooms which resulted in a $960 stay and the general manager Aretha Trice offered me points instead of reimbursing me for the extra room I had to book due to her canceling my reservation. This is absolutely unacceptable how this hotel treated me and my family during this already stressful and difficult time. By the way the 3 year old little boy that slept in the car it was his father that passed my sister fiancé. I'm hoping some in the corporate office see this and help me get my $476.19 refund. If this place is up to Marriott standards, then Marriott has dropped way down to the bottom of the barrel. Filthy sofa sleeper with no bedding to cover it up, one working elevator out of two and it was all the way down to the end of the hall, furniture that looked like it had been in a gang fight with those razor slashes, and rear exit door that didn't lock. They said they would refund my money and I was free to leave. They lied, I'm being charged, even sent me a receipt saying I owe nothing. The Comfort Inn was much nicer with two working elevators and rear doors that lock, same with the Quality Inn. An upgrade that turned out to be a downgrade. read more

To put it bluntly, the room was uninhabitable (and despite pre-paying we didn't stay here). The carpet had more stains than clean patches. The couch had nauseating white stains on it. The hallway and common areas were beaten up (marks on walls and doorways) with a musty smell despite "no smoking" signs everywhere. Stayed for 4.5 months due to a house fire, staff is very friendly, but this place is in need of serious upgrades, the carpet felt slimy so don't walk barefoot, getting sheets to fit the king size bed was nearly impossible , sounded like a very heavy walker above our heads at all hours of the night, we liked the fact of the kitchenette and we was able to have our pet with us, hi st needs some major renovations ! read more

I have been coming here about 10 years and I kept coming back for the breakfast, the pool and the awesome staff. My most recent visit may be my last in light of newer hotels in the area. The carpets in the entire building need to be replaced, they are stained and musty. The pull-out bed in our room was broken and caving in and we couldn't put it back together as a couch so we had to keep it out as a bed the whole time we stayed. this was reported but never fixed. The breakfast was a bowl of apples, coffee, juice, yogurt and a basket of individually packaged Spunkmeyer muffins. I know we are still technically in Covid but I have stayed at other hotels that did a far better job on breakfast. Even though the building has become run down, the prices have increased and they now charge a $10 parking fee per night, rip off. Also, sketchy elevator. I came to town for my grandfather funeral and she showed so much empathy and sympathy and just made my day of disaster a whole lot better and brought sunshine to it. Horrible. Not an accurate description of this place. Couch is disgusting. Won't be sitting there to watch TV. Tried sitting on the bed, the other end goes up in the air, not to mention the creaking noises from the entire thing. Outdated room, outdated kitchen. Transition from kitchen floor to carpeted floor is falling apart, not to mention the carpet is fraying badly. Says City View but we looked out the window at the back side of the garbage dumpster. LARGE ROOMS WITH SOFT MATTRESSES IN AN AGING PROPERTY. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and attentive. The rooms are large with a kitchenette and adequate storage space. The water pressure is excellent and the water piping hot. The bed is very soft, which is not my preference but may be for some. Perhaps it's nearing time for mattress replacements? Housekeeping seems to do a good job and overall the property is kept pretty clean. The location is good, right off the highway NOT connected to the Flint water supply and with several dining options not to far away. The facility is beginning to age a bit, so don't expect "that's new car smell". read more

I've stayed here a few times, and really kind of like it. It's easy access south of town on I23 with easy access to I-75 and hwy 475 as well. Just minutes away from Miller and Corunna road in Flint, and minutes away from Grand Blanc Township. What I really like about this place is that it's a Marriott hotel, the staff is friendly, they are very welcoming on check-in, and they have a great breakfast. These also have a happy hour and family dinner every evening. What I don't like... is they long "The Shining" hallways. But you can park next to the other entries after you check-in. 4 STARS read more

BEWARE! CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS ARE NOT HONORED. I had a confirmed reservation, and when I arrived, the front desk attendant told me there were no rooms available, despite having a confirmation number. In fact, she said at least 10 other parties with confirmed reservations were also turned away that day. The front desk attendant was rude and unsympathetic and refused to help me find a room at another hotel. When I asked her why she didn't call me in advance, her response was "we don't do that". This hotel is the absolute bottom for the Residence brand and the Marriott brand. The hotel is filthy, bug infested, broken down, no housekeeping, no clean towels, disabled smoke alarms because if you turn on the stove burners the smoke sets them off. Stayed here on a weekly basis for 2 months... Staff generally was polite and accommodating. Breakfast was well done. However... Rooms were not always clean, furniture was in need of replacing or at least a good cleaning. The couch in ever room I stayed were terribly warn and uncomfortable and I placed a clean blanket over and pillows under the cushions to support worn cushions. Kitchen equipment was terribly beat up or non existent. I've stayed at many Residence Inn for business travel, all allow pets. But the smell of dog feces was not uncommon. Also was exposed to vomit in the hallway and my complaints were ignored. Right outside my door. That was the end of my stay. Moved to the Hampton across the road... Same price... No comparison. Wish I had moved sooner. It's a shame... Will never stay at this location again. read more

This is my second time staying here and making a mini vacation out of my trip to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. It's still a nice property after four years away and I only have a few minor quibbles. (I'm excluding the room size, as I can only guess that I was given a king room last time even though I paid for a cheaper one. It was noticeably different, at any rate.) The fridge and microwave seemed worn, there was no clock in the bedroom (!), and the chair beside the television--which appears to recline--did not. The settee is an issue all its own. The company calls it a "sofa bed", but it's not a couch, it's not soft, and I cringe to think what kind of mattress is below. On both trips, I used my laptop from the bed, as it's much more comfortable than the alternative. I've never used the pool or the gym, but I had need of the laundry room this time, and found the prices reasonable--although it would've been nice to have a vending machine for detergent and a change machine there instead of having to tromp all the way to the front desk and all the way back again. My one caveat is with corporate, not the hotel. Don't try to book on the Marriott site--they will tell you that there aren't rooms available when there are. Use one of the travel sites or try booking direct. read more

If it wasn't so late, we would have left. Our room smelled of stale cigarettes, the refrigerator smelled like raw shrimp and there was trash left under the sink. I was hesitant to use any of the dishes, assuming those probably weren't cleaned properly if cases of beer and beer bottles from the previous occupant couldn't get removed. The mattress in the pull out couch was horrible, and the other mattress was sunk in the middle. And the carpet baseboards were just pathetic... not the experience we have had in other Marriott locations. read more

Good hotel located right off of US 23 & I-75. The guest rooms are large and spacious with a full sized kitchen. My room had 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom and shower. Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant. Ample, well lit parking lot. Didn't have time in the morning but they offer a free hot breakfast. read more

My family and I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my nephews birthday. We got 2 rooms. The rooms were pretty clean, although one smelled strong like cleaner and the other smelled like dog. I liked the layout and the full kitchen that was available. The staff was nice. The pool looked clean. Breakfast was so-so. I was hoping for it to be a bit better. One of the parking lot lights wasn't working so I didn't feel safe leaving my car in that area. I moved it to where the lights were working. All in all, I would come back. read more

I've stayed at this Residence Inn several times. Very clean, very comfortable rooms and always an excellent staff working there. I've also stayed at the holiday inn and the courtyard which are behind the residence Inn. While both of those hotels are very nice the residence Inn is my favorite. read more

I stayed here for three months while my house was getting work done to it for flooding issues. We had a nice stay, no issues. We come back a month later due to my floor getting redone and we only stayed for 6 days, the staff told my mom over the phone ( since its her reservation) "we're going to put them in the same room since they have the dogs cause they stink and we couldn't get smell out of the room". Which my dogs have regular baths but they do go swimming like normal, and we stayed there from March till June. But the simple fact that apparently my dogs smell so much we got the same room which is fine, we came into the room and it smelled fine just like room service as usual. A few of the "managers " are rude. Be careful when you try putting food or drinks from the front desk on your room because they will quickly question that it cannot be on your room. Never had a problem the first time I stayed, but when I came back it seemed like a problem when I put Food and drink on my room to pay for when I left. There is a few good employees but there is also a few bad employees that made my stay the second time around feel inconvenient and that I as a customer was unwanted. Mostly management at the front desk gave me a hard time about everything. read more
