This was the kuře na paprice I was served at Irene's (after they were out of the Roman pork sandwich). It took about 40 minutes to get our food on a Friday night, when the restaurant was half empty/full. Kelsi, our server, said the kitchen was bottlenecked. She was fantastic in taking care of us. No issues there. For me, the chicken was undercooked and cold in the center. I asked Kelsi about this, she took it to a manager who looked at it, then walked over to us. For the manager, (I don't remember their name) an individual in a beanie and "The Shire" sweater, we had a negative interaction. The manager said this was how the food was supposed to be served. That she checked with the chef and this is what it should look like. I get bone in chicken has a different look or cooking, but I'm not sure about cold (pink, gelatinous, translucent). Either way, loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Did not love the unsafe food. Added the day following: Got food poisoning from this chicken. Was sick around 2 am or so the day after. First time at Irene's. I was blown away how huge this place is. Indoor seating, bar seating, outdoor patio seating, and enclosed garden room seating. It was busy on Friday night but bc the space is so big there was ample options. The ambience here is great. We sat in the enclosed garden room which had lovely natural sunlight and music from outside but still indoors and kept bugs away. We got the apple and walnut salad with chicken Schnitzel, Farro and squash salad with pork schnitzel, and a haddock and chips. Food was delicious. In my opinion the pork schnitzel tasted better than the chicken schnitzel. The salads were great, tho I don't think it would have been enough food on its own without the schnitzel. Service and food was a bit slow but otherwise fine! You're not rushed with your meal. I would come back again. read more

The place is very clean and nice decor, but that's about it. The house margarita is tiny, they fill the whole cup with ice and you get like 3 ozs of the actual drink. They were out of two things we wanted to order. Then we order and the waitress comes back 5 minutes later and tells us what we ordered was sold out too. Then we get our 4th choice option and it came out cold. Oh, the place was the furthest thing from busy when we were there. Do yourself a favor and go to Panera or something. I really wanted to like Irene's Biergarten, but the pricing versus portion sizes left me pretty disappointed. The food itself is decent--flavorful enough, cooked well, and has that comfort-food appeal you'd expect at a biergarten. But the value just isn't there. For example, a single small scoop of mashed potatoes is $6, and if you want gravy, that's another $4 for what looked like about a quarter cup. When you're paying nearly $10 for a side of potatoes and gravy, you expect something more substantial. The entrées follow the same pattern: tasty enough, but portions are undersized for the price. It feels like they're pretty proud of their food, maybe a little too proud, because the prices are jacked up far beyond what the experience delivers. Overall, if you don't mind paying upscale restaurant prices for mid-sized portions of decent food, it might be worth a stop. Personally, I left feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return unless they adjust their pricing to better match what's being served. read more

A Sunday dinner visit with friends. We did have reservations, which provided us immediate seating. Here is what we liked: * Service fun and attentive, some good recommendations. * The Swedish meatball appetizer with lingonberry sauce was quite tasty. When I heard biergarten, I will 100% honestly tell you this was not what I expected. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant/ cocktail bar with two golf simulators that can be rented out. Walking in you are just immediately drawing into the deep blue gray hues, the copper ceiling accents and the beautiful lighting. It being the Christmas season, they had a gorgeous Christmas tree and some other beautiful details up. We sat at the bar and was quickly, and pleasantly greeted by the bar tender. Settled on a glass of wine. I have to say, for calling themselves a biergarten they didn't have a huge selection of beers. In that sense it a more typical restaurant. The menu is also pretty limited, and while I didn't eat, the food looked extraordinary. I am excited to come back and check it out on a deeper level. But as far as my wine and the aesthetics go, it was a wonderful experience. read more

Second visit and trying to take everything into account. I intentionally waited for my first visit until the overwhelming throng for the new business subsided, so this experience is not based on "we just opened". The ambience is great and lends itself to a 5 star potential. Spotty service (not checking on customers, forgetting orders, and I have never before waited 25 minutes for a dessert before having to cancel it, out of menu items), spelling mistakes on the menus. The food has also been spotty. The trout is phenomenal, the salmon so fishy you wonder if it is bad. It's a great concept in a great location, but I am disappointed. read more

If you've never left America and expect giant portions of food at all times, welcome to Germany where portion sizes are actually correct. Having lived in Italy for 2 years, I learned to appreciate quality over quantity. With that being said - I absolutely loved my Kielbasa platter. Don't come here looking for cheap because good quality food isn't cheap and cheap food isn't good! The mustard was probable the best I've had in my 40 years of life, the kielbasa was flavorful and not greasy, full of fillers. This was just an all around great experience at the bar with a very friendly, personable bartender who called me by name from the moment she checked my ID. We absolutely love this place. We've been coming here ever since they opened. It has a great modern homey vibe. They have the best German Beer on tap. Very crisp and fresh with a ton of options. Our bartender Lissa was amazing. She told us our options and catered her suggestions to what we liked. The whitefish dip is our absolute favorite. We also get it with a side of cucumbers which makes us feel slightly better about our choices to be healthy with the bread. 10/10 recommend. read more

Overall an enjoyable experience. The restaurants decor is pleasant, and quite spacious. There are multiple different seating options. The service was attentive, and I thought it was clever that they have a uniform of sorts for their staff. I have a hard time finding decent Wienerschnitzel anywhere, and I wanted to try it here. While the breading was certainly on point, the top finish was a little drier than I'm accustomed to. I suspect it was not cooked in butter. Perhaps I'm wrong? The spatial and red cabbage were both wonderful, and frankly I wish I had had a little more of both. It was overall an enjoyable stop here, I would certainly come back. read more

A delightful environment, very nice atmosphere. Our four dinners (3x salmon 1x crab cakes) were ok but nothing special. The sides that were served were not hot, barely warm and the kitchen was very slow in prepping meals. Crème bruleee was delightful and the coffee was great. Let's start with the bad: either the owners are cheap or they have bad bartenders because their win pours are a joke. Learn to pour a decent glass of wine and stop being so cheap or you are going to lose customers. I will give you one more chance but if it is another short pour we'll move on. I like to visit a restaurant three times before rating it so this review is based on that criteria. The first time I went, it was around lunch time on a Saturday, shortly after they opened as a restaurant, and I got the beer braised bratwurst sandwich with a cup of French onion soup. The sandwich and soup was tasty, and the service was okay, not great. The second time was with a friend on December 13, 2025. We made reservations for 5:45 p.m. and ordered an appetizer (crostini, sausage and apples with fondue) and our food. The appetizer came and was delicious but by 6:40 p.m. we still didn't have our food and needed to leave shortly for a concert in Flint so we paid for the appetizer and left. They were very busy that night with a private Christmas party going on in the back area and I'd expect that they'd be busy near Christmas but all we ordered was a salad with steak and a chicken dish - nothing that should've taken an hour to make. The third time (December 19th) we made reservations again (6 p.m.) for my birthday dinner and the friend that went with me on the 13th was also there with her husband so we asked to be seated together and we got the same waitress as on the 13th. Again they were busy. We got the same appetizer and it was not as good as the previous time. I ordered the Golabki & Pierogi, my son ordered the Haluski, and my husband got a salad. My friend ordered the salad with steak (again) and her husband ordered steak. The food took forever to come out and when it did, it was barely warm and my friend's steak was over-cooked. She and her husband sent their food back as they were not happy with it. Our reservation was for 6 and we didn't end up leaving until close to 9. The atmosphere is nice and the food is okay, but there are better choices around. It should not take that long to get food and I'm just really disappointed. I don't think we'll be back. read more

This was a really neat spot. We came on a Thursday during Mug Club night. It was busy but we could still get seats. We ordered the pierogis and Swedish meatballs as starters. For entrees we ordered the kielbasa, beef stroganoff, salmon, chicken melt, and golabki. The food was all really great, I think the standouts were the pierogis and beef stroganoff. The whole atmosphere of the place was really cool. The inside was decorated really beautifully. There was a lot of attention to detail. We played a round of golf at the simulator which was really fun. There was enough seating for all of us to casually hang out. They had a great live band playing on the patio. Let me start this review by saying the service was really nice. However I was very dissatisfied by my meal. The schnitzel had a very strong taste of what seemed to be horseradish, that of which I did not expect from a simple fried chicken cutlet. Other members of my party got different entrees that were exponentially better. Paris brest was lacking flavor but the crème brûlée was right on point. Might come try this place again in the future because I heard they're undergoing some issues with management at the moment. read more

I must confess that I have developed a strong affection for this establishment, not due to the German cuisine it serves, but rather the warm and inviting ambiance that it exudes. The food was delicious, served hot and you could tell it was done fresh. Very friendly service she checked up on our table several times making sure that our drinks were full and our water was full, as well as if we wanted anything else. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone at Irene's for a truly wonderful experience.Prices were reasonable for what you ordered. I love the variety of beers that you could order. And I love the area where they have couches that you can relax, the fireplace added to the ambience as well. there was also an area where you can play simulated golf. They source their beef from a farm nearby and all baked goods are from a local bakery! They use beef tallow! Everything is quality and delicious!!! Our party ordered the amazing Swedish Meatballs 10/10, pirogies 10/10, Borstch 10/10, beet salad 10/10, braised beer brat with French fries and curry Mayo 10/10, the pork schnitzel dinner 10/10. Mustard encrusted trout was very good. Cooked perfectly and delicious. Portion sizes were appropriate (not too much) so I could still enjoy dessert which was creme brûlée (which was delicious.) Staff was great. Very attentive and friendly with suggestions. One small downside was not all drafts on the menu had been tapped yet but that's acceptable for the first opening night to me. Had reservations on a Sunday and were seated right away. The interior is pretty cool looking and seems to be a fun spot to hang out. When ordering, we were told that it might be about 40 minutes for our food. We were OK with that as we were going to "catch up." About 45 minutes after placing the order the waitress said ours was coming up. Half an hour went by so we asked about the food again and we're told that they were just plating it up to bring out. After waiting for the food for about two hours and continuously being told "it's on its way" we decided to just leave and go elsewhere.
