I accompanied my girlfriend for her outpatient surgery, and overall, the team was kind and attentive, especially during prep and recovery. However, I must flag a deeply concerning interaction with one employee, Jennifer. She had a bully-like personality, was very rude, and tried to discharge my girlfriend before she could confirm she was able to safely empty her bladder after her hysterectomy. Even after multiple requests, Jennifer refused to let her walk or assess stability. She said it was more important for the hospital not to have a fall for liability, but implied that a fall at home was acceptable. This bully-like behavior was rude and unsafe, and I hope the hospital addresses it, as the rest of the team was otherwise excellent. read more

They both agreed that I could have something to eat when I hadn't taken a stress test so I had to wait for 6 hours to complete so I kindly told them to release me and I would prefer my cardiologist do it. read more

The Resolute Baptist ER in New Braunfels could literally have killed me with their indifference! The most horrible experience I've ever had in a medical facility! Will never go back!!! I arrived at the ER at about 11:30pm with severe chest pain, shortness of breath, pain in my left arm and a long cardiac history including more than one heart attack. The ER was empty and we could see several people in scrubs chatting. I advised the young lady at the ER desk why I was there. For the next 15 minutes(!!!!!!!!) she sat at her desk with my DL and did data entry. Ignored me even when I reminded her of my history and the current crushing pain and tightness I was having. She finally told me in a snotty voice the a nurse "had heard me" and would be up soon. A male nurse walked up to her desk and snatched my paperwork off the desk, looking at me and shaking his head. He then walked back and the he completely ignored me. After a few more minutes of being ignored. I left and went to Christus Santa Rosa ER and was treated immediately. And as I happens, I was having my 5th heart attack at the time. The neglect, and complete indifference shown by the staff there was outrageous. Staying at the Resolute Baptist ER could literally have killed me. I will never go back. And I DO NOT recommend this place at all. No wonder their ER was empty!! read more

It was terrible. I was there bleeding out from a miscarriage two years ago after three hours of being admitted to a room I fainted, fell and had an emergency transfusion of cold blood. This was also after again being in a room for three hours with no IV. In addition, I received a left over bill from 06/01/2024 maybe two months ago and only because it hit my credit. I never received the original bill until after a letter, email and phone call to the office asking what it was for. This hospital is not where I'd take someone, if I cared about that person. read more

I have been sick for six weeks with a persistent sinus infection and have taken three different types of antibiotics during that time. Today, my symptoms worsened significantly. I was experiencing shortness of breath, labored breathing, chest tightness, and a dry cough, so I went to Resolute Baptist because it was close to home. I explained all of my symptoms to the staff. A doctor came in and briefly stated that I had allergic rhinitis and recommended I see an ENT. He did not examine me or listen to my lungs. Concerned, my daughter requested that another doctor come in to properly examine me and listen to my lungs. Despite waiting over an hour, no one followed up. I informed the front desk that I was leaving. I then called the VA triage nurse, who advised me to go to another emergency room immediately due to the severity of my breathing issues. My daughter took me to Methodist Hospital Northeast in Live Oak. There, I received a breathing treatment, chest X-ray, and a full lung examination--all of which were not done at Resolute Baptist. I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I reviewed the medical records from today's visit resolute Baptist and discovered that the provider falsified the diagnosis. He documented that I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, despite the fact that he never examined me. I am deeply concerned that this constitutes a false entry in my medical records, which is a serious ethical and legal issue. I have the provider's name on file. While I am choosing not to share it publicly at this time, I may revise this later so others can be aware and avoid a similar experience The lack of proper medical care at Resolute Baptist is deeply concerning. In my opinion, the doctor I saw there demonstrated a dangerous level of negligence and should be held accountable. read more

Nice, clean, new hospital! Right down the street from Buc-ee's, this place is the fanciest, newest place to get some work done, or get checked out. There's plenty of spacious parking here. Sprawling lots of accessible parking make it a breeze to park here. No paid lots to be seen. The hospital has its own entrance with a signalized hard intersection. The hospital has some nice artwork made by local kids that are all kind of fun and funky. I enjoy the posters about handwashing. The staff has all been friendly and courteous. They're most understanding about cancellations as well. There's plenty of other things to see and do around this hospital too- be sure to check out Buc-ee's and the Spec's down the road. read more

I would go to Christus now that they hired the old CNO from Christus New Braunfels. This tells you the hospital will go down hill. If you like playing favorites and let people do what they want on the clock then go here. Nursing satisfaction will go downhill overtime and nurses will leave. Always look for and appreciate the blessings in every circumstance. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The effort in making the endless appointments, long office visits, and enduring awful procedures can make you wish that death comes sooner than later. My medi port placement was the final procedure before finally beginning treatment. I want to thank everyone from check in to discharge for their kindness and consideration. Ok first off. WHY when you go to the emergency room. WHY do you have to sit there for hours. With no one coming in and checking on you? We were there 12/19/24. My wife had an episode. The first nurse a gentleman was very nice e and helpful. The second nurse (Asian) was very disrespectful. My wife needed to use the restroom. The female nurse came in and unhooked some stuff. Literally just turned around and left. Seriously your in Healthcare. You don't just walk out. Doctor was very nice. Went and explained the choices to take. Sad I had to give the hospital 2 stars, but that nurse is just rude. I have to say the hospital is beautiful inside and out. Extremely clean. If I could leave 0 stars I would for this hospital & THOMAS E NEWMAN. I was recently transported via EMS 11/29/25 to resolute hospital for severe pain in my abdomen. I was then approached by the attending physcian Thomas E Newman. Immediately I explained my prior emergency surgeries to help elaborate my extreme abdomen pain, as I was sweating from excruciating pain. After running a ultra sound the team found sludge in my Gallbladder and Instead of seeking a alternative solution. The care physician was very adamant he could not perform the surgery, this was after I explained I had a colon and gastro specialist and needed help for my pain. Despite my temperature reaching a 99° I never received any pain medication NOR antibiotics for the infection I was enduring. Thomas E Newman made the situation very embarrassing. I felt profiled for "drug seeking" in front of my wife based on his explanation. I was then turned away and discharged with no medication, No IV and most importantly NO ANTIBIOTICS or explanation. After being discharged that morning, I was still in pain and confused while I was using #2. I began to notice blood in my stool, very unpleasant and extremely painful gravel like sensation coming from my stool as I reached in to pull them MYSELF. After calling EMS again 3 weeks later I am now admitted in stone oak hospital with a severe infection from my gallbladder. I believe I should have been advised of what to expect as far as gallbladder stones. Even antibiotics to help prevent my liver enzymes from fluctuating so high. This visit with Thomas E Newman was very unpleasant and most of all cruel and unusual treatment for anyone let alone a disabled veteran. I felt my patient rights were violated as I was left confused and above all, I left in a WORSE condition. Now that I am in methodist stone oak hospital, I am pending emergency procedures due to on going bile infection. This is not the only isolated incident, once I gather more paperwork I will be submitting another follow up as well regarding another incident at this hospital. read more

Excellent Emergency care- super thorough. I was transported in 12/25 by EMS for sudden onset of head pain. Dr Dhaliwal in ED was incredibly thorough. She sent me right away for all necessary scans and I feel she went above and beyond. I was cleared and it wasnt a stroke but likely just occipital neuralgia. Doc upstairs in med surg- i wish I knew her name. Thin, brown hair 45 ish.... SUPER awesome!!! read more

Care was inconsistent. ER nurse was excellent. Telemetry nurses excellent. PACU not so much. Room extremely noisy due to some kind of ventilation system almost to the point where you can't sleep. I spent a month there with a severe blood infection, some nurses were excellent but many were not, often taking too much time to respond to my call button..some were rude and not very understanding..the7 wanted to do a procedure where they would put a catheter into my carotid artery and go down into my heart to look and my aortic valve .. this was mostly exploratory and I refused...they did the hard sell sending in 3-4 different doctors to try to convince me... I still refused, they used scare tactics but I kept refusing...they kept selling...horrible experience...over a year later I'm 100% fine read more

I had an emergency surgery here, every nurse and doctor that helped me (there was many) was so compassionate,kind, and informative. this was my first surgery and this hospital made me feel so safe, they were personable and never made me feel like i was just another patient. My husband also had surgery here this year and had the same experience. Hopefully I don't have to come back but I would be happy to! read more

I've called probably 5-10 times in the past two years to speak with advice nurses at resolute to see if I should come into the emergency room with my children. Every other time before today I was allowed to explain my concern and ask them if I should come in. Every other time I spoke with someone I received great communication until today. The first ER nurse didn't even know what an advice nurse was which is pretty crazy for an ER employee. The next nurse I spoke with allowed me to explain the situation but said she couldn't give me advice or a recommendation to come into the hospital or not because they're libel. Zero help and frankly very rude. The guy that picks the phone up has more knowledge than the nurses I spoke with which is terrible. Employees here do not care about helping people read more

If I could give this place a -5 stars I would. I went in earlier this morning around 10:30AM to the emergency department with my mother. We were seen quickly, but the doctor rather than examining her, became quickly dismissive of my mother's symptoms. She had shortness of breath, chest tightness, body aches, and congestion with a really horrible cough. The doctor did not even bother to listen to her lungs or call for a chest xray, and simply told her that she had allergies in a condescending/ dismissive tone. Disappointed, we went to another ER where my mother was later diagnosed with PNEUMONIA. It is so disgraceful that male doctors like this continue to dismiss the symptoms of women and places like this shit hole continue to allow it. read more

I highly recommend this hospital. My daughter gave birth here and it was a good experience. Not excellent, but GOOD. The only reason I say good and not excellent isn't because of the hospital, but because of her obgyn not delivering her baby - and a different doctor stepping in which we had a personality conflict with. This was not the hospital's fault. The nurses were good, overall. However, her dad was also admitted into the ER recently, and then to the Intensive Care Unit. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE ER AND ICU. They were AMAZING. Every single nurse, doctor and the level of care as extraordinary. We felt so taken care of. I would steer clear of this place. One they mis code bills and do not fix them. Their billing department is atrocious. I have been on a payment plan for 2 years paying off my balance, which they overcharged me and would t fix, and they tell me everytime I call its over in March no it's over in April and now it's May. I have asked for an itemized statement multiple times and never receive one from them. I call and just go in circles. I call the hospital resolute and they take zero accountability for this. They just forward me back to the billing department who again doesn't help me. I need to know why I'm continuing to be charged when my billing cycle is over and why I do not get an itemized statement. I'm concerned at this point. Do better and take accountability for your shady billing practices. Will never use you again! read more

I recently went to the ER of this hospital at about 11 pm after my wife thought she had been bitten by a bat and we were concerned about rabbies. We were lead to a room and waited for the doctor. A doctor appeared in the doorway and asked what was up. My wife explained she believed a bat had bitten her toe. The doctor stood in the doorway, did not examine my wife's toe, and intimated we were to assume the bat had rabbies. the doctor spoke to us about 5 minutes top. Thereafter a nurse rolled a cart into the room and gave my wife 4 or 5 shots and gave us some paperwork about how to get the remaining shots to complete the vaccine. we paid our $350 co payment and left. The next day we followed up with my wife's regular doctor who thereafter prescribed the remaining shots from walgreens at no charge to us. a few days later we received a bill from Resolute for their services of around $21,000. our insurance paid resolute around $6,000. Resolute requested an additional $1700 from us that they said our insurance didn't cover. We called our insurance to contest the additional charges which were later dropped. I could not believe Resolute charged so much and was paid so much by our insurance for these so called medical services. No wonder our healthcare system is going bankrupt. It was all so disappointing and eroded my trust in hospitals, resolute hospital and in our healthcare system in general. read more

While the nursing staff and aides are great and the PT staff are some of the best therapists I have experienced. The doctors are not. They seem inexperienced. My mom went in with blood pressure through the roof. They did not do an MRI until 4 days later and then discovered that she had a stroke. When I asked the doctor why they waited so long to do an MRI he said he was not the admitting dr. There is no collaboration with the doctors, a lot of shoulder shrugs and finger pointing. There are no speciality doctors-no urologist, no pulmonologist, no resources. I think this hospital has poor and inattentive management. The hospital looks shiny and welcoming but the doctors seem inexperienced and when they don't know what to do they just discharge patients. read more

Go if you need to go. People are stressed during covid, I get it. Unfortunately I've been here many times for myself and other family members. Last time we were there, other people in the waiting room were extremely stressed and irate. I saw no reason to make a bad situation worse. The entire nation has been dealing with healthcare workers that are being disrespected. I'm not going to participate in that type of behavior for the sole reason of having a long wait time. The reason for low stars? It's the most unkept parking lot and grounds of a hospital that I've ever seen in my entire life. The bathrooms lack basic sanitation covers for their toilets and the patients and visitors share the same bathrooms with aforementioned lack of toilet seat covers. The staff are fine. They are human and only once did I interact with a negative person at the front desk. She gave me a very disapproving look and didn't say anything. I had to tell her why I was there. She acted like "why are you wasting my time"? (She's part of the reason others left while cussing and angry while being in severe pain in a wheel chair. I felt sorry for everybody there that night. (The but in the wheel chair also accused that woman of mocking him but i witnessed nothing and kept to my own problems. read more

I had a hysterectomy and was in severe pain after. It took 4 hours before I even saw my nurse even after numerous calls for her. No one even knew who my nurse was nor that I had been assigned to that room. My surgery had been scheduled for at least 3 months. I had to call every time I had to use the restroom and waited a minimum of 30 minutes each time before someone responded. One even said she didn't know I called. That was after my monitors continued beeping since I unplugged myself and went on my own. She scolded me for not calling. If this wasn't where my doctor is signed with, I'd never have been there. I will definitely not be going back. This was the WORST medical experience I've ever had and I have had too many to count. read more

Resolute Baptist is an exceptional hospital. I had to visit the ER late on Saturday night. Despite them being very busy, I received prompt assistance. After I was examined by the ER doctor, I was admitted. The care I received was outstanding from the front desk personnel and continued until I was discharged at the end of my stay. I found that every person I met genuinely cared about my comfort and well being. Every member of the hospital staff I met was highly professional, extremely kind, and expertly proficient. I went to Resolute Baptist Hospital's emergency room 8 months ago for high blood pressure. Fortunately I had insurance but they must have entered it wrong because I got sent to collections for not paying the entire amount. After that got straightened out my share was over $2000. I made a payment plan with them but I got sent to collections again. I asked how much I owed and paid the entire amount. I just got a notice that I was sent to collections again for $128! I always pay my bills on time so that I don't get sent to collections. They have aggravated me so much and raised my blood pressure that I'll never go there again! read more

Received great care from the nurses and doctors for a knee replacement. The administrators left a lot to be desired. An individual named Amanda, made a joke to my wife that we can cancel my knee replacement after learning our out of pocket amount along with the house nurse. I was there for three days before one of the nurses put her hands on me bruising shit out of my arm. She also went through my personal belongings and stole from me. What a great bunch of nurses. Seriously the sleaziest hospital in Texas. Son went to the ER for staples to close up a 1-inch cut, The doctor and the people there were kinda nice, so at first I thought the experience was fine. The doctor that put the two staples in told us after a week that removing the staples was part of the "package" and so we could just come back to remove them for no additional fee. This sentiment was repeated by the nurse that came in also, and then repeated AGAIN when we were checking out by the front desk. when we were leaving I asked what the total charge was since I didn't want any subsequent billing. The front desk told me that All I would have to pay was the copay and nothing else. A few days later we received a bill for the initial stay and I wasn't happy but I get it, we did go to the ER. this was the last bill and it wasn't out of what was initially expected. A week goes by and we go in to get the staples removed--after all it was included right? upon leaving this time I ask the front desk if there is anything else that needs to be taken care of, in a jovial tone saying I won't be billed for this visit right? and they laughed and said no sir, this is part of the initial billing "package." Turns out they lied. Apparently it cost $700+ dollars to spend 3 minutes to remove TWO staples with a $2 cheap staple remover that was falling apart in the "doctors" hands. Something my 5 year old could have probably done himself, but the whole reason we went to a "professional" was BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY PART OF THE PACKAGE! Went to the billing department to clear things up, surly this was a mistake. When I was explaining my situation the billing guy thought I was there to talk about the first bill and even said "...and when you came in to remove them there shouldn't have been any charge since it's included in the first" so he called his superiors and I was given the run-arround about how the "bill is legit" and "there's nothing we can do." This hospital is a joke, the billing department is a joke. I stated that "so far two staples has cost us (personally) more than it does for us to birth a child which we will be doing soon" (my wife is 8 months pregnant) and the billing guy had the audacity to say "so I'll see you again soon?" How can I say NO any louder? Don't trust these people, don't give them any more money, I know I won't. Billing dept is a thieves guild. read more

Went Saturday afternoon on June 29 to check on a family member. Parked, walked inside and found the registration desk, which was not staffed, to ask for directions/ help. Found elevators and rode them to the third floor. Walked around. Still no one. Rode elevator back down to the lobby. Still no one - no staff, no patients, no visitors. Literally a ghost town. It really felt weird like I was the only person in the whole building. I understand why the negative reviews. read more

I would give zero stars if an option. I will say a nurse that was there the first visit we had we did love but, it was overall a very invalidating and bad experience. I took my 6 month old to be assessed after his dad and I noticed something was off. He wasn't moving his arms and seemed very lethargic. We arrive and they did not seem to believe it was very urgent which I understand maybe they are desensitized. They gave my baby tylenol and motrin and monitored him and then sent us home when he appeared stable. No xray, no labs or other test. I did think more should of been done especially after I explained how he had been sick for several days. Well fast forward to next day 4 am. My son is displaying similar behaviors but has blue lips and looking very lethargic again. He is struggling to breath. I arrive and explain the severity of it to the receptionist and she seemed unphased. They leave me in the front with him while he is struggling to breath and clammy. Doctor from night before casually walks out asking what's up. I again explain everything and then he realizes himself he is struggling to breath. Long story short my baby had 104. 5 fever and heart rate of 225. Then x was complete and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctor who assessed him both nights didn't even come to explain the diagnosis to us. Not even an apology for missing it the night before. My baby was admitted to NCBH- children's in San Antonio. I'm just really sad this had to happen. I went with my gut and just glad I did. Shame on the staff at resolute for not even appearing to care. We will not be going back. I urge everyone else to do the same especially if they have an infant. Just make the 30 minute drive to a children's hospital in San Antonio. read more

Was referred here by urgent care and this place was terrible. They have a "fast track" area where you sit with other patients and they take you into a side room for an "exam". Someone pulled me into the side room asked me little questions and hardly did an exam. I tried to explain to him what was going on and he brushed it off and said well do a urine test it's probably something to do with your kidneys. Sent back to the communal area to sit for 90 minutes with no updates and no one around to ask for anything. Finally someone came to talk another patient and I asked her what was going on and she said she'd check. 20 minutes later nothing. I sat for two hours and finally left because my anxiety was so high. Called and they said oh we came to check but you were not there so we assumed someone else released you. They don't care and it shows. Seriously don't waste your time, looks nice and new on the outside but they do not care. read more

Very poor knowledge of acute covid management in the ER. My husband was diagnosed with covid for complaints of headache, cough and slight chest congestion. Was sent home on antibiotics instead, not given Paxlovid (which we found out later should have been given to him). Told him to just ride it out, take ibuprofen for pain. The antibiotics caused stomach upset and nausea. Two days prior I was there for the same problem but was not tested for covid so I did my own test upon learning my husband was positive which turned out to be positive. to d. Sent home with antibiotics but did not feel better after a week. I came back and was blamed for not finishing g the antibiotics they prescribed despite them causing severe stomach discomfort. Told to keep taking ibuprofen and ride it out. Two weeks my husband and I both developed acid reflux from taking ibuprofen every 4 hrs which we were told to do but we still were not feeling any better. We eventually found out that the ibuprofen was causing our symptoms of severe weakness due to hurt burn from the ibuproften, not from covid. So now we're being treated for the stomach issues but fortunately our covid symptoms are almost gone.​ read more
