Today the 14 of us played here. We purchased Golf Moose vouchers. Two people for $130.00. The golf carts are brand new. No GPS. Two bottles of water provided in the cooler. In asking the pro shop for tips: 1) play conservative 2) club down 3) the ball will travel 10% further due to the thin air. The golf course was in bad shape. The greens were sandy, lumpy, and bumpy. I don't mind some links but this was links galore. The course is nestled in a very scenic valley with protected wetlands. It's definitely a challenging golf course. So much so that none of us are interested in ever coming again to play. Even the seasoned players in our group agreed. It was mind boggling to me. My driver failed me on so many holes. Many of the holes are narrow. Hope I don't have nightmares tonight. Don't forget the mosquito repellent. They're vicious. read more

Links at Everline Course in poor condition. Tee boxes were over grown with weeds and full of sand. People walking all over the course causing a serious danger. Fly fishing class taught in the middle of the course with kids running onto the fairway and greens. No golf bag drop off, no signs of where to go or park. Golf is an afterthought at Everline. Staff are arrogant and rude. Food was poor. No bathrooms on the course. Parking was ridiculous- $150.00 for the day to self park. I was appalled by the lack of service and help from any employee. Will never golf this course again. So many great places to golf in the Tahoe and Truckee area and this is not one of them. read more

Now called Everline Resort & Spa. Our fam of 4 stayed for five nights (Wed-Mon) between Christmas and New Year. Two stars for the hotel service-- Bell service was absent when we arrived. After waiting 10mins, we had to go seek out someone to come and help unload. Once they arrived it was very helpful. Lots of other cars waiting around. Upon departure, there was at least a 30 min wait for help to load luggage. Key lock battery died and unable to get anyone to help us get in. First person we saw, a bell hop literally said "it's not my department, good luck" and then lectured me on have the card key next to my phone. Completely useless. Then housekeeping wouldn't try to get me in until after they called in name confirmation. I'm standing there with two little children. No presumption to be helpful. Housekeeping was only provided after our third night despite our Hyatt status eligibility for daily cleaning and an explicit request. Precious time with fam spent doing dishes and managing towels. Ski valet misplaced my son's skis. His last name starts with an E and they placed it with another letter. It took 20-30mins to find it. This happened after I specifically asked them to keep it with the family. We know our last name can be hard for other ethnicities. They assured me that wouldn't be necessary. We actually ended up finding it ourselves. I understand that mistakes happen, but what made matters so much worse for me was that the entire time I'm working on searching for the skis and doing their job, they're asking mw a series of questions to set the blame on us, shirking all responsibility. "Did you give it to a valet staff?" "Did you just leave it and not tell anyone?" Towel service at the pool seems to end at 5 even though the pool is open until much later. Four starts for hotel maintenance-- Touch points all very clean and well maintained, including dishes, door knobs, tub, shower, closets, sheets, lamps, windows, fireplace, etc. Four stars for location and experiences-- The sledding hills were gradual and long which was good for our little 2 and 5 year olds. Hills are in the meadow a little beyond the Resort Chair. Helmets highly recommended, especially with icy conditions. Ski In Ski Out was amazingly accessible for beginners and more advanced skiers. The Resort Chair Lift connects Everline to the entire network of Palisade Tahoe Lifts! We have a little first time beginner, so we took the shuttle (runs every 30 mins mins) between Everline and the Village. Snowventure, the area for first time beginners, is a hike from the drop off point, especially if you're loaded down with equipment. read more

We played here with a Large group of golfers. The course itself was quite challenging at times. I think they offered the golf moose deal of $120 to drum up some business. The greens, tee boxes and fairways needed a lot of work. There was sand everywhere along with weeds. The course had a lot of holes that was narrow along with obstacles. The entire resort looked like it was under construction. What looked like dead ends or Gravel and dirt was actually a continuation of The cart path. Workers were constantly on our cart path with large machinery. At one point 3 of us had to back up on the wooden bridge so the worker could pass. What made the course worse for us is that there was no signage of where the next hole was. The entire course was so spread out we kept going back and forth looking for the next hole. And then there were so many obstacles we had to hit over and Carry. Not all Of us are professional golfers and can carry that far. We lost a lot of golf balls. I don't anticipate returning unless Their conditions improve but then at That time I could not afford it. read more

Walking by the resort, you would think they have everything together and organized. When you are a guest, you very quickly realize this façade. I was a guest for 5 days 4 nights and not once did I meet a worker who looked like they knew what they were doing. The ski valet is the biggest shit show on the planet. I brought my undamaged skis into the ski valet after an awesome day of skiing to pick them up in the morning absolutely destroyed. I have been back and forth with the people at the resort and they refuse to take responsibility. They told me that it's just normal "wear and tear". Being a licensed ski tech, I know that is just total bs. I will never be staying here again and I recommend you don't as well. Paying top price for bottom tier service is something you shouldn't ever do. read more

Golf Course - Not worth over $100: The course is not taken care of, there's multiple holes where you can't tell the difference between the fairway & rough. The greens were extremely patchy, and the tee boxes are overgrown. We were told there was going to be a snack cart coming around and none did for the entire 18 hole round. The golf cart path boardwalk is questionable at best. It looks like they're in the process of replacing it but could be dangerous in some parts. Big letdown read more

This is an excerpt from my Food and Travel blog: Our golf is on-site at The Links at Squaw Creek (squawcreek.com). It is a links style golf course which I enjoy immensely, although my wallet does not. Anyone that has played a links course knows painfully well that unruly and diverse plant life can eat golf balls like nobody's business. You may hit one that appears to stay in the fairway, but one bad bounce and it's buried under tall grass never to be found again. This course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. We're really enjoying the company of an elder statesman local named Jerry. He's giving us helpful tips and showing kindness at every turn. I am holding off on teeing off since other golfers seemed within my range -- if I hit the ball correctly that is. Jerry gives me the green light and as luck would have it, I put "a can of ass" into it and smoke a bomb that travels about 285 yards and over the couple in the cart ahead. Yikes! These Cobra F-max clubs may be even better than I thought. I am a supporter of green initiatives, but I'll admit the one they employ here is costing me today. This golf course doesn't use pesticides, fungicides or rodenticides. It is one of California's most environmentally sound golf courses. As a result, it is "au naturale" and wild grasses grow here that only a botanist or phytologist would recognize. Per the starter, they trim some but not nearly as much as they would like or should. We'll see what my ball count is looking like by days end. I arrived with 15 golf balls in tow today. I like the wooden cart paths in spite of them feeling rickety at times. Many of the tee boxes are on a slope so I have to pick my spots wisely for teeing up. And some tee boxes are "torn up from the floor up". A very picturesque course. For being unruly, the course is in pretty good shape especially since it is the dead of summer. Most fairways are in good enough shape and while the course isn't green, it's greenish. Hole number 18 had about 80-100 Canadian geese on it so we had to clear the green of goose mud prior to putting. "Au naturale"... Is this considered a playable "plugged lie"? Horrible. Not maintained. Decrepit bridges repaired with plywood, bunkers full of weeds, greens like aged broccoli...just saying broccoli would imply they are green...good luck finding a good lie in the fairway...likely will sink into a patchy brown hole...and it's only $110. Lol. read more

I golfed the links at Squaw Creek on Sunday and it was awful. The greens were in bad shape and the first hole was under construction. It was like the whole course had just been aerated too. There were sand & weeds everywhere and it was super windy. Save your money or play another course in the area! read more

This place use to be beautiful and perfect! My recent visit was not that way. They have false advertisement for prices for spa online. The Facebook page offers exciting things they do not even carry in the restaurants. And the grounds seemed to be unkept. When I asked specific questions about who was in charge of things. This is a gorgeous links style course BUT bring lots of balls. Fairway conditions not great so just enjoy the scenery and weather! The BEST part of the course is Gabriella Bravo on the drink cart. So pleasant, helpful and makes incredible drinks. Her positive spirit makes the game fun and helps you enjoy the day regardless how many balls you lose :) read more

This is a beautiful course but very challeging and unforgiving. Miss the fairway and your ball is as good as lost, very thick grass and weeds. A few holes with large hazards guarding the green. If you're not a long hitter be ready for 50-70 yard layup shots. Staff is very friendly and helpful. read more
