Also wanted mezcal and they either had one or none; memory is failing me on which it was, and I know mezcal is not as popular as its cousin tequila, but most liquor stores at least have three or four.

At some point during our virgin Colorado trip, we stopped into Beaver Liqours and I walked out of the door with a roguish smile and a poster that hung on my bedroom wall until my senior year in high school and then travelled with me to Utah and graced my dorm room wall until my sophomore year in college. Fast forward four decades, I stopped in Avon a few days ago specifically to pick up a t-shirt for my girl and walked out with a smaller reprint of the same poster. I call that a win. Same smile too. High prices!? Huh? It's frickin' Beaver Creek!
