What a wonderful quick pit stop for lunch. Luckily it was during a weekday, so there weren't much foot traffic (and road traffic). Parking was "easy" as long as you get a spot. Big Bear was a quaint little shop, reminds me of someone's home. Staff were very welcoming and we were helped right away. There was only one other person in front of us. Seating inside was a bit small and tight, but if you're with only one other person you'd be okay. We sat at the high top counter so we can people watch. It was bit too warm for us to sit outside even when there's shade. We ordered the Mo and the Piglet. I added prosciutto and arugula to mine and as-is for the Piglet. We both loved our sandwich and was very satisfied for the rest of our trip home. Although, it was weird that the Mo only has fresh mozz, tomatoes, and balsamic. A little bare, but the additions made it 10x better. Will definitely come back whenever we're back in Vail. read more

The food was very average and was not very special. The burrito was missing a pork green chile which was an addition charge of three dollars. Food was pretty expensive for what it was and on top of that me and my family were handed untensils which had obviously not been cleaned. The service was very underwhelming as we waited 30 minutes for an empty place to get us our food, meanwhile many people who came after us got their food first. My favorite was the croissant french toast. Airy and the whipped cream was the best I have ever had. Not too sweet and fluffy. Comes with berries. You can ask for maple syrup on the side so you can choose the sweet level you like. The food took 30 minutes since they were so popular so I am taking off a star but sitting outside hearing water sound was relaxing on a Sunday morning. It was definitely packed and the seating is VERY limited especially during cold season. Food: Smother burrito 3/5 -- the mix of food wasn't bad and the sauce wasn't bad either. The tortilla didn't seem as cooked. Omelette 3/5 -- I definitely did not enjoy the mixed greens with my omelette. One of my favorite lunch spots in Vail! Great stop for a quick lunch or at the end of your ski day. It is small and can get busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is awesome on a bluebird day. We love the food here, and come several times each time we visit the area. It is very casual and you are welcome to wear your ski gear inside. They serve canned adult beverages as well which is a plus. read more

I recommend the cibatta rolls. The sandwiches are $14.99 and nothing comes with like chips or pickle, it's all extra cost. Everyone sandwich look great, except for ours, we ordered the lumberjack, and it had hardly anything in it, it was end of season, so maybe that was one of the reasons, but it also had no taste. There is no horseradish, in the aïoli, Couldn't taste the cheese, and caramelized onions are typically not red. However, they put these little shredded red onions that were just not really great. To add insult to our lunch, we both ended up with GI issues - putting it nicely. read more

Delicious sandwiches with marvelous ingredients of nice quality and composition! I got the Phoenix sandwich and my friend got the masterpiece. My little one had a chicken salad scoop with lettuce and tomato and a pickle. The Phoenix was made with nice quality real Turkey meat, not average compressed deli meat slices. It had a great Chipotle Mayo. I loved it and want another one right now. I would try other things though just to see what else is amazing. The masterpiece had meats and Italian type dressing and was delicious. The chicken salad portion was very generous for $7 in Vail. It was savory and had bacon in it. Quite yummy! We asked for our food three times and finally got it 30 minutes after we ordered. We are not sure what happened, but the kitchen didn't get our order?? The staff member did not exchange it after we waited another five minutes. $5 for a muffin that I didn't select and no service. The dining room was very warm and the fan was not running. Odd thing about this otherwise family-friendly restaurant is that the playlist at 8:15 AM was extremely sexual and uncensored featuring Ariana Grande's hit 34+35 and other songs. It was our first time in Vail. First place we tried to eat. We walked in 30 minutes before they closed.. The waitress was extremely rude. Rolled her eyes and made angry comments to other employees about us. I said if It's ok if we came in because they clearly looked extremely upset that we walked in. When my mom asked if we could sit in certain table We were pretty much told we could not sit anywhere inside or outside because walked in right before they closed and that we would not he able to eat there. We walked in 30 minutes before they closed and we were were literally ran out of the place.... These people are awful do not eat there unless you want to he treated like garbage. If you don't want to serve people 30 minutes before closing then change your schedule and close at 3:30!! I would give you 0 stars if I could you don't belong in the service industry. read more
