This was such a nice experience for my husband and I to enjoy while spending a weekend away in Vail! Sometimes there's nothing better than staying in and having someone cook for you and that's just what we wanted after a day of skiing. Making the reservation was simple online. A couple of days later, I received an invoice for a $44 deposit to secure it. We skipped the meat and opted to order cheese and chocolate fondue for two adults which was $110. The day of, they called to confirm their arrival time and showed up right then. They brought everything necessary for the fondue and left a box to pack it up in for them to pick up the next morning. We didn't even if have to clean it! The cheese fondue came with lots to dip including bread, cornichons, broccoli, ham, and apple. The chocolate had a lot too (fruit, donuts, pretzels)! It also came with a simple yet delicious salad with a special bottled dressing we could bring home. All of the food was the perfect amount for us to feel comfortably full. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who loves fondue! read more

Arrived as scheduled, on time, and set up for our delicious fondue meal. There were six of us, and we all couldn't stop raving about how perfectly cooked the prime rib was and ready to be dipped into the delicious beef bone broth with the mushrooms. What an incredible experience! We had a girls ski trip to Vail/Beaver Creek, and we booked Fondue at Home for one of the nights... Derek arrived promptly at 5 pm to start prepping while we relaxed and drank wine. He was very engaging and professional. By 6 pm our meal was ready, and he walked us through all of the options (shrimp, beef, bread, veggies, fruit, and of course the cheese!). It was a beautiful setup and truly felt like an experience. Derek left so we could enjoy in private, but not before explaining the amazing dessert plate of strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels and donut holes with melted chocolate! Based on other reviews, I had very high hopes for Fondue at Home. Our entire family was visiting Beaver Creek over the new year's holiday, and I wanted to treat them to a special New Year's eve dinner at the home where we were staying after a long day of skiing. I made a reservation in advance, and the gentlemen I spoke with assured me that they would arrive by 7 pm and we would be eating by 7:30pm in time to head into town for the 9pm fireworks. I even called to confirm that day. 7pm came and went. I was about to call them at 7:20 and I received a call from their chef saying he was leaving another home in town and would be at our place in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later he arrived. It was now 8:00pm. They were one hour later than promised. I expressed my dissatisfaction, and he assured me that the meal would be worth the wait. Dinner was ready to eat at 8:45, a full 1:45 later than we were promised. The chef quickly reviewed everything with us, and said that our party of six seemed like an intimate gathering so he would just get out of the way and pick everything up in the morning. While most of the food was set up well, we felt like he left us to do some of the work ourselves (e.g. dessert). This is not how they pitch and price their service. The good news is that the food was very good. Not excellent, but very good. Given that we paid over $700 for a meal for six, I expected excellence thus the 2 stars. I should also add that there was no follow-up by anyone apologizing for their poor service. They charged my card immediately and moved on. read more

We have now used Fondue at Home for three separate dinners since Jan '21. They have all been delicious with fantastic service. Derek has always arrived promptly, made a speedy prep of the food and table and left clear directions for dessert and clean up/pick up the following morning. This time he even invited our 7 year old to be his sous chef when he noticed him studying what was going on, and had him assisting with the prep which our son loved! This is such a great option for a big group or a family that doesn't want to go out into the business of the restaurant scene and still have a restaurant quality meal. We stayed one night in a hotel in Vail and I was able to tell them my room number about 30 minutes before the scheduled time and this was no problem and they still came on time. They provided everything we needed except for plates, silverware (fondue forks provided), and drinking glasses. This was such a great idea as we just wanted to relax in our room that night and this fit the bill perfectly. We ordered the 2 course fondue meal (salad, cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue) and we loved every bit of it! After the chef cooked the cheese and set everything up for us, he showed us how to make the chocolate fondue (which was very easy with 2 ingredients) and left us to enjoy our dinner. After cooking, we simply rinsed off the cooking pots, bowls, etc, put it back in the box, and left it with the hotel front desk to be picked up the next morning. He was so personable and easy going that it felt like a friend was preparing your fondue and not a stranger.
