We stopped in after a long day at the beach. What a great choice. We were seated with an amazing view of the marina. The service was very quick and efficient. For my meal I had the chicharrones de pescado and a plain Mofongo. My girlfriend had the dumplings and the tostones de pana. She also had a frappé de tamarindo. All of the food was delicious. My chicharrones were absolutely delicious and the Mofongo was so full of taste, lots of garlic and so juicy. The dumplings were kind of blah but the tostones de pana were delicious. To finish our meal we had a flan de queso which was absolutely delicious. We definitely enjoyed our meal and would visit again if in the neighborhood. read more

Went for lunch with the family. They sat us right next to the window. We had a perfect unobstructed view of the bay and all the boats. That alone was worth the trip. We started off with chicharrones de mero and my wife and I split the empanadilla de pescado. Both were very tasty and fresh. The chicharrones were the best thing we ate that day. My wife then ordered the filets de dorado (mahi-mahi filet). She thought it was a bit too tough. I had the Morongo stuffed with chillo so mojo. That was very good. Our 3 year old enjoyed his rice and beans with a few pieces of the chicharrones de mero. Overall, a pleasant experience. The place is kid friendly. Note the restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building. Might be an issue with older people or disabled. Place has private parking. read more

Review of a To-go order: I called the restaurant on my way and placed a to-go order. The person on the call was really nice and the order was ready in 25 minutes. Food: I got the octopus tostada, the shrimp mofongo and chicken empanada. I really liked the chicken empanada - so good! The octopus and mofongo were just ok. For a place we're the natives rave about, I must say I was not too impressed. From the entrance to the service and the drinks. The front entrance of the restaurant is not appealing and a strong gas smell. When we sat down by the bar area we waited at least 10 minutes before the waitress returned to get our drinks. The food was ok, but not great. I mean in Salinas, right!? Known for seafood. I ordered the mofongo with lobster and pieces of the lobster were hard. We ordered gin and tonics and we had to correct the bartender to give us "true" gin and tonics without the lime juice in it, something we did not ask for. To go to a restaurant and spend close to $200 I would expect exceptional service and outstanding seafood. I would recommend La Barkita just down the road. read more

My boss took a group of us out for Secretary's Day lunch and this restaurant was awesome. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the restaurant is very pretty with a minimalist style of decor. The view over the marina is gorgeous. We had appetizers, lunch and dessert. The food was fantastic and the drinks were great. Be aware that this place is very popular and fills up quickly, especially on days like Mother's Day.
