Where do I start? We're looking for a place to eat local food. The employees are very accommodating, we asked alot of their menus in our broken Spanish. Gabriel, the cook/chef explained as much as he can but the end, we got it down to the red snappers, lobster, white & yellow rice, mofongo & plantain! They gave cheese empanadillas!!! Service is awesome, ambiance so authentic local vibes..local hang out for happy hours!!! Worth it & I recommend it whoever visiting Palmas Del Mar or Humacao!!!!

Nice vibe , strong dinks .Great fish ...i would stick to the fish , i was not a fan of " carne frita " service was a bit slow , but the ambiance and the drink made up for it . The ambiance is very local .this place us hard to find but very busy , it was a sign that it was good ..please make a Stop here , I highly recommend..but please be patient it was Tuesday and the place was hopping...

Food was awesome, phenomenal, and outstanding. The fish, shrimp, and octopus were fresh and cooked to perfection. This establishment received one star due to the owners misrepresentation of services. When our party of four arrived and asked to see a menu he said " we don't have a written menu but I will tell you what we serve" after his presentation he said i will give you a complementary sample platter to help make your decision. At the end of the night we were charged over thirst dollars for the sample platter. If budget is important make sure to ask for cost up front.

If your in the mood for great local food, this is the place. 5 stars for Food and service excellent! Had the red snapper ( chillo) whole and my husband had the conch WOW!! Didn't give five stars because it isn't the nicest place no frills and no ambiance. Would definitely come back. We had both plates and two drinks total ticket $38.

    Typical chinchorro-style restaurant

Good food, good service, friendly people, and cold beer. I travel to PR quite a bit for work and I like to go to these places like El Ikokal as much as I can. This is a fantastic alternative to crappy restaurants like Chili's. No menu, just whatever they happen to have in the fridge at the time with the typical list of complementos. Helps if you know a little Spanish sometimes. I like their fish most, and snapper best. The pulpo is really good too. A plate of food and a few drinks is less than $20. Really though, this is one of the better chinchorros in the area. My favorite used to be Tano's in Las Piedras but it's been closed for a while...

As we drove into the strip of restaurants by the ocean, we saw Bobby's Place with its open air dining area crowded with people right across from the water. We drove up the strip and walked back towards Bobby's Place. The line was long, always a good sign. We got the fried fish, mofongo with shrimp, and an arepa with shrimp. The fried fish was spectacular, lightly seasoned with salt and lime. We sat listening to the music coming from the street out of all the cars and motorcycles cruising the strip. Quite the experience!

In PR, it is common to have these shacks next to the beaches, malecones, where you can grab something to eat and drink a beer. We arrived here, after going to Monkey Island. We were starving and my father and I wanted to eat somewhere with a breeze and a view to the malecón. We ordered the mofongo con camarones and it was fresh and tasted amazing! They are very generous with the shrimp. If anyone is interested about going to Monkey Island, I went on a tour with "La Paseadora". The captain's name is Frank and he is very knowledgeable about the island, is an ex-Coast Guard captain and speaks English and Spanish fluently. He also does kayak, snorkel, dive and fish. His numbers are: 787-850-7881, 787-316-0441. I went in April 2018, and although the area of Humacao is still messy due to Maria, the malecón area of Naguabo was perfectly fine and ready for tourism again!
