I don't know about you but for me the atmosphere and service in a restaurant is just as important as the food and the price. I would even go so far as to say that it is more important than the other two. L'incontro has great food (I can highly recommend the penne siciliana and the pizzas turn out quite nicely in their oven) but there is no human interaction between the guests and the waiters. They take your order, serve your food and then disappear. No smile, no attention to details, no recommendations, no desire to make your evening special. I am not saying I expect a stand-up comedy show because I am such a special person. But restaurants do not merely sell food, they sell an experience, of which the food is one element.
This could be a fantastic place (the decor is a bit cheesy but warm. The location is nice (next to the synagogue, close to the bars in plainpalais and the opera and concert hall in case you want to go out afterwards) and as I said, the food is great. But there is something missing to make it stand out. read more
