Called regarding our large VinoTemp wine refrigerator. The technician was on time, knowledgeable, methodic in his approach, great communication as to what he was doing, why and diagnosed the issue in under an hour. Evacuated the freeon and recharged the system. Asked me to call back in a few days to see if it was fixed. It was Not so only charged $60 for service call! They documented it and I sent the issue to manufacturer as the unit has a 5-year warranty. Huge for us as the unit is over $4k and has way more than that in wine in it. Steve came out to fix my Whirlpool washer which had a problem spinning. After troubleshooting it seemed like the problem was a bit more complicated then he'd anticipated. However, that did not stop him from fixing it and working again. Since Steve left I've already ran several cycles and my washer is running perfect. Saturday 01-29-2023 Mike just completed fixing my LG refrigerator. Mike showed up on time and texted prior to his arrival. He is polite and even wore booties on his shoes when entering the house. Mike was careful and efficient. He put down a flexible plastic protection on the floor to protect it from damage when moving the refrigerator. Mike quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, and took the time to show and explain what the problem was and how to fix it. A drain became clogged causing water to pool inside the refrigerator basin. I also asked him to clean the coils while he had the area open. Mike cleaned the coils for an extra $8 which is what it would have cost me to do it myself. I know because I have used the cleaner and it actually costs $8.99 at Home Depot. I thought his overall fee was reasonable but I confess I did not get competing estimates so I can't say for sure. Mike put everything back and was extremely conscientious about his work and leaving everything exactly as he found it. Our refrigerator water was broken and before jumping to a more expensive repair job, I gave them the go-ahead to try a cheaper, more immediate, fix. Reached out yesterday afternoon, was able to coordinate a next day window. Mike showed up on time, was very personable, and went straight to evaluating the fridge. He even had the correct compressor in stock and could schedule the repair ASAP. But I could say the same for the other company I had come out in the morning. Here's where Mike stands out: 1) I have a solid mechanical background and have repaired auto ACs in the past, so I understand the concepts that are in common. I truly appreciate Mike giving me the details behind his assessment as it increased the trust I have in his abilities. 2) Based on the above alone, I would have hired Mike for the repair. But at the risk of losing the job, Mike told me that the compressor should still be covered under warranty. I told him my system wasn't one of the models in the class action against LG, but he told me it should still be covered by their extended warranty. LG just confirmed it is covered. There's something to be said for a company with the integrity to put customer service ahead of an easy contract. Yes, I had to pay for the service call, and would gladly do it again to know I have the best information available to make an educated decision. After a few hours and some new parts they determined the range was not safe to operate. I really appreciate that they took extra time to wait and see that the range was not functioning safely.
