    Moulard Duck Breast

We were in town for a long weekend in Natchez and did a little research online and talked to some locals about where to have a great meal and the consensus was Restaurant 1818. The restaurant is located in the Monmouth Inn which is on a gorgeous property. I would highly suggest taking a stroll around after dinner to take it all in. The restaurant is upscale, but you would feel comfortable wearing business casual attire. DaVu was the manager who was incredibly kind and the service was on par with restaurants in larger cities, but in a small town. The food was top notch. Everything was amazing. I'm a southerner and can confidently say that the fried green tomatoes were some of the best I've ever had. The moulard duck breast was also the highlight of the entrees. We had several desserts which were all good, but the white chocolate bread pudding was the clear winner. Also, make sure to get a mint julep to complete your southern experience.

Restaurant is inside the Monmouth House. We made reservations and got there a little bit early. We were the only people in the restaurant at first which made us nervous but then it started filling up and for good reason. The food is soooo freaking good. I got then pork chop and it was cooked to perfection. I also go a desert to go. The staff was sooo friendly. Would whole heartedly recommend this place!

Very tasty food. Honestly ribeye and filet tasted the same to me, but ribeye was cheaper and much bigger atmosphere was great, service was good. I recommend this place. 8 out of 10

Service and ambiance are great. Very historic. Comfortable. Beautiful atmosphere. Limited menu though. Food was delicious and our waitress Rileigh was so sweet and efficient.

What a wonderful find. Beautiful setting, elegance everywhere, service excellent. The food was DELICIOUS!! I had the red fish, garlic green beans & rice pilaf: hubby had pork chop, sweet potato mash & collard greens. Also, the crawdad/corn bisque. Highly recommend!!!

Would have been 5 but service was not up to what it should have been. Other than that food was delicious from the beginning. The tiny biscuits are fantastic. The fried green tomatoes with crab topping was fried just right. The mushroom baguette was a great mix and bread was soft which I prefer. The arugula salad was light and not spicy which made it enjoyable. The duck with wild rice was exquisite and reminded me of Peking duck somehow but was juicy and tender and would order it again!. The pork chop didn't have flavor other than char and was slightly dry in spots. The pecan pie was alright as well. The mint julep was very sweet but really liked the cup it came in. The Sauvignon blanc waS fantastic. Worth the price and atmosphere. Would do this again, and happy food was delicious. GGreat to be able to walk to since we are staying here. Loved the experience

He was very confused & had to ask a few times. We ordered the oyster spinach salad. I enjoyed the salad. The batter on the oysters & the fried shrimp my friend ordered was tasty but very salty. My boyfriend ordered the burger. It was good but nothing special. Overall the food was decent, service was slow (we were there for over 2hrs between ordering eating & paying).

His conversation was laced with profanity and we had children with us. Completely unwarranted. We paid for our drinks and left rather than be subjected to his barrage. Neighboring tables experienced the same attitude and another couple walked out with us. Complete shame as we understood that the food was excellent. The two members of our party that were repeaters acknowledged a similar though less traumatic experience with the same waiter on their prior visit, sharing that it was earlier in the day and he wasn't as belligerent but odd and off putting. I hope management corrects the situation before they lose too much business at the hands of this staff.

It's small inside, probably only about 10 tables or so. It's kinda like a pizza joint, but very clean and comfortable. There are brightly painted walls and it smells amazing! Service: You order at the counter, pay, get a number, and seat yourself. You get your own drinks and they bring the food out to you when it's ready. The wait for our food was maybe 10 minutes at the most? The girl who took our order and brought our food was very pleasant and made good suggestions when we were trying to figure out what to get. Food: I ended up getting the Big John's Cheeseburger (basically a classic cheeseburger) with curly fries. Yum, yum, yum. This burger tasted so homemade, like off the grill in the summer. It was juicy but not overly greasy. Personally, I would've liked a little less mayo and mustard but that is more just a preference. Oh my stars the fries! So good and FUN! It had been forever since I had curly fries. These do not disappoint. My fiance got the Jacked Up Burger (lettuce, tomato, mayo, pepper jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, bacon) and said kinda the same thing - super fresh and just yummy. The jalapeno peppers, pepper jack cheese, and bacon made it different then a regular burger and worked really well together. They have other specialty burgers, sandwiches, po'boys, BBQ plates, and salads. There is also a kid menu. Cost: Super inexpensive! Our burgers were only $10! They don't cheat you on portions either. The burgers were at least 8oz and you got a mound of curly fries. Free refills on fountain soda. It's probably a good thing I don't live around this place or I'd be eating burgers and fries wayyyy too often. If you are in Natchez Moo's is a must!

The sweet potato casserole is identical to one a local food distributor sells. (The highlight of the meal). Fried pepperjack cheese stick was disgusting! It basically was a tasteless cheese stick encrusted in a thick bread like coating. (Like a corn dog). $30 down the toilet..... Obviously the locals like it, because they were fairly busy. The back court yard could be fixed up/cleaned up for a nice outdoor dining spot. It was not clean as well
