Happened to drive by this charming little 'dive' bar - and I mean that affectionately. You enter thru swinging wooden doors - Wild West/ Gunsmoke or 'I'm your Huckleberry' style. Dark, long wooden bar full of an entertaining cast of regulars and Tracy - the bartender extraordinaire who is funny and has everyone's 'number'. She knows their story and she takes care of everyone with a laugh and sometimes a story (if she has time). So imagine my surprise when I hear several regulars ordering steak TO GO! What? So, we asked. Yep, they cook steaks once a week on Wednesday. We ordered a filet and a filet burger To Go. These guys cook a kick ass, tender, perfectly cooked steak! Better than many steak restaurants. No joke. I hate to let the cat out of the bag since the place is small and packed even on a Wednesday night, but The Corner Bar is a hoot. Wednesday night Steak Night! Every bit as delicious as my companion had said it would be (he's a local). Big, juicy, fatty ribeye grilled perfectly to order, well seasoned and served hot. Side of potato casserole, salad, and a roll for $30. Other steak cuts available at varying prices. It was busy, but even as 7 o'clock arrivals we were seated within minutes. " Wide Variety of Drinks " We went to the Corner Bar to have a few drinks. The Bar does not have too many craft beers but they do have a variety of other beers and cocktails. I mean, it's a no frills complete dive pub that served its purpose of going on a bar crawl with my sister and her friend while on vacation. Ironically on the corner from our hotel. A surprising amount of beers in only bottles but of the typical stuff. You won't find too many craft beers here. They also had frozen drink cocktails (not sure how that went). My sister's friend had one of those and it seemed kind of strong. About average prices. What I think caught me off guard when I walked in was seeing a kid maybe around 21 (he looked 18 but my perception of how old younger people are these days is off) sitting up at the bar nonchalantly puffing away at a cigarette. I couldn't stop staring because it just seemed like such an anomaly. I actually enjoy the smell in bars and haven't seen this in nearly a decade. People seemed friendly but we didn't stay for too long. It seems like a one drink kind of pit stop. read more

If you want a good ol', old-fashioned neighborhood dive, where you can sit and maunder in your cups for a while, while watching Natchez locals feed their habit, you'll like this place. This spot is the BEST! My boyfriend and I stopped by Natchez on a road trip from Los Angeles and let me tell you this town is an amazing little hidden gem! This is a local joint that really gives you the flavor of the town. They serve great steaks on steak night that really are tasty and perfect for a traveler's tummy. Candace our bar tender was too much fun and the owner of the place was even sitting right next to us at the bar!
