My wife literally called me crying because the cashier lady treated her like trash. She was frustrated that my wife had a shopping cart full of groceries we need for our restaurants. My wife is Hispanic and I'm hoping that racism doesn't play a role in this situation. She demanded that my wife grab another cart because our cart was full. She's pregnant. She went to grab another cart for the cashier lady and the cashier proceeded checking my wife out with a barrage of insults. She cussed her out and my wife spoke to the manager. This woman does not belong in customer service. If you respect yourself and don't want to be treated like a dog then DO NOT SHOP HERE. The freezer section requires immediate attention and a thorough cleaning. Several boxes are open, food is on the floor, and many of the containers appear dirty. It also seems that a broken freezer is being used to store food items, which raises serious food safety concerns. Conditions like these could easily lead to contamination or foodborne illness if not addressed promptly. The staff I interacted with that day were helpful-that's the only positive. read more

Cars are broken into at this location weekly. I was shopping inside for about 25 minutes and come out to my window smashed and property stolen. Neither the manager or cashiers offered any sympathy or asked to help. There was one woman working the desk when you first walk in that was very kind to me. Thank you for having a heart. Rather drive to the Marietta location knowing I won't have to wait 2 hours for a police report or receive zero support/ "I'm sorry". Also, the officer who showed up said he has come at least 100 times to this location for cars being broken in to. He said the cameras do not work at all even though they have signs all over the lot that say they do have cameras. Skip the head ache and go somewhere else. read more

Don't get me wrong, there are tons of good things about this place from the refrigerated space (carrying all the produce, cheese, meats, and seafood) you could ever need down to the restaurant fixtures including take-out boxes and things you couldn't find at Costco. Including a 3kg jar of Nutella. I want to know which restaurant in town buys this... So here's where I struggle with liking this place: service. We tried buying 24 lbs of fresh sea scallops but they only had 6 lbs available. They said they could give us the same price for 24+ lbs. Granted, I understand that there's maybe about a 1.50/lb difference, but money counts. Even though once it scanned, it seemed as if they did give us the special bulk price, the price was wrong. Hell comes when you're trying to get this corrected. There didn't seem to be a "manager" or "customer service" person to take care of this. We waited for about 30-35 minutes before another cashier could help us and she was attempting to help another customer at the same time. They're not short-staffed, but the staff is slow. The second cashier tried to adjust the price on our purchase, but ended up returning more money to us. Did we just get a free bag of scallops?? I know that we weren't alone on getting issues resolved as I saw other customers getting impatient. Restaurant Depot, I don't know how you do your books, especially at this location, but I hope you hire more competent people or at least improve your customer service. read more

So this is a really cool "in the industry" place that alot of your local noshing grounds get some of their last minute needs. You do need a small business license and a membership but if you can get in, its a sweet place to get anything for front or back of the house. Was in there last Saturday and huge line to check out...They have a sign stinging they will open a register if more then 3 people in line...there were around 20. Took over an hour to check out...No one at customer service desk and no one assisting with issues. Was my first time there and I wont go back. I would avoid this store. I was in line with the male check out attendant who chose to scan a large roast that had no UPC code as the last item of a very large order . The manager was called over and took the roast to her station - she had to page someone in the meat department - wait for them to call back- get the code - then bring it back to the checkout station - only to then realize she needed to weigh The roast and took it away again to a different check out area for weighing. Finally she returned so that the customer in front of us could check out. This all literally took almost 15 minutes. The customer in front of us who was waiting was so embarrassed as the long line was building up behind her. She would've happily paid for everything else and stepped to the side waiting on the meat and then checked out for that one item when they finally got it together. Three or four customers could've checked out in the time it took them to get the meat code and then weigh it and bring it back to complete one order. The depot has great food and many people are super nice but they're just not using their brains when it comes to being the most efficient at checkout! read more

They lie and make up rules as they go along regarding their return policy, even though the return policy is clearly posted on the wall and on your receipt. They are all rude, dismissive and have very poor communication skills. This store is the worst and their prices aren't competitive to the market as they used to be. We shopped here and we were charged twice. When we brought this issue to the manager we were told our money would be refunded. It was not. We had to provide proof of the double charge from our bank. We did that. The manager was rude and still wouldn't return our money. We had to file a formal complaint with our bank. We will never shop at this store again. Good place if you know what you want and don't need your hand held while you get it. I've had no problems with the staff; have found them quite nice. Length of checkout lines would be my main concern - last time I was in, no problem, but I've also had 15 minute waits. Yes, you may have to make your way around pallets of stuff or a broken bag of flour on the floor. It pays to know what a good price is for your desired goods, and to keep an eye on specials. I've seen a good bit of stuff substantially lower than Costco, for example, and literally half the price of most grocery stores. read more

Having a vague idea that places like this existed, I got my first introduction - Restaurant Depot is a to the trade place where restaurants get all kinds of things like those to go boxes, massive bags of onions, tablecloths and more. I needed to buy a massive quantity of plates for an upcoming event, and Costco just wasn't cutting it... Not having an actual restaurant, I found out that you can actually get in on a one day shopping pass - the counter in the front will provide you with a little slip of paper with your temporary ID, and you and your industrial sized cart are on your merry little way. There are quite a few of these 'stores for restaurants,' and this one is actually a chain... but I chose it because it was the closest in proximity. It's over in industrial-ish no man's land, but was quite the eye opener. One of the workers was also very helpful, so high five for customer service. read more

I hate to give them such a low rating because their products are amazing. The problem with this location is the customer service people do not understand what customer service is supposed to be. If I ran my establishment like they run theirs I would be out of business. So many times I have gone in there and the cashiers were literally sitting on the counter tops not checking out customers. And rarely do I leave a negative review but when someone is so blatant on how they don't care about customers I have to say something. Will I stop shopping there no. I hope someday they will change my opinion about their customer service. I don't see it happening anytime soon though. read more

Your employees at the Howell Mill location have to be the worst I've ever run into. Their lack of friendliness was the most shocking. This place is just terrible. It's filthy and disorganized, and stuff is often out of stock. The employees, while somewhat nice, don't seem to know where backstock is even if it's showing up in their inventory. In the disposables section, packages are often open so you're never sure if you're getting the full quantity you are paying for. Good luck finding compatible products, such as lids to go with cups. Hi my name is Cory I was unfortunate enough to have gotten a job at the Atlanta restaurant depot. The management has zero respect for its employees which in return creates horrible customer service. While employed there i worked the seafood department where i was instructed to sell seafood beyond the legal health code regulation of 4 days by managers Fred of seafood and store manager Rudy...Even asked me to try to sell old seafood to the small restaurants whom they claim are always looking for a deal.....I refused to follow there selling of expired Catfish, frozen thawed and frozen again seabass and sword fish. And was ousted due to my concern of this practice..seeing that. It's unfair unhealthy and its being sold to places that I can afford a quick late night delivered dinner from... BUYER BEWARE VERY SHADY STORE.... Seafood comes in every Saturday and Wednesday and must be sold at 50% off on day 4 or damaged and thrown out. Not sold on day 6 or 7 at full price..... read more
