I've been to AmericasMart more times than I can count -- from Dragon Con to the Oddities Expo to a tattoo convention and a few other events in between. They host a lot of different events and expos throughout the year, and check-in is always easy to find and from what I can tell, generally in the same spot. The only minor downside I've run into is when the escalators aren't operating. If you're trying to leave quickly and don't want to fight your way back through the vendor crowds, be prepared for a bit of a trek down the emergency exit stairs and through an empty floor or two. Other than that, the space is clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff does a great job keeping things running smoothly no matter how packed the event is. read more

Purchased a GE window air conditioner through AmerciasMart via Amazon. The unit was received damaged both the box and the unit. AmericaMart is making me pay $305 to ship it back (they sent me the shipping label) they have not responded to my email or to Amazon's email regarding replacing the shipping label with a "free" shipping label. I also left a voice mail regarding the shipping costs and gave not heard back and it's been one week! read more

We setup at multiple trade shows/conventions throughout the year, and have never had to deal with a venue that is as hostile and unhelpful as this one. They would not let us enter through the $40 a day parking garage, and made us walk around the outside of the building and enter through the loading dock, while being yelled at to "MOVE OUT OF THE WAY CARS COMING THROUGH!" read more

I visited the huge mart which you need a business license to enter. The mart has three buildings and I visited the women's clothing and accessories. The check in was great. The staff verified the information input within the system earlier. However, the mart was empty only about 10 stories were open. They were preparing for a trade show scheduled for mid July. We have a great experience at AmericasMart over Labor Day weekend for Dragon Con shopping for all things nerdy and nerdier. From what I understand the concept of AM is to provide a permanent place for whole sales to sell. It took us 2 days to get through all 4 floors of shops, vendors and merchants. The security and logistics of managing so many people at such a big event must be a total nightmare but the folks here handled it like it was an old folks birthday party. They had the Fire Marshall out there counting heads so that the place never went above what was allowed... Even with the 98 degrees heat and humidity on the outside and the front doors open; we never felt uncomfortable on the inside. In fact when we were working our way to the 4th floor we actually felt a bit chilly from the a/c...which goes to show they had some serious a/c blasting here which we really appreciate! I first visited AmericasMart a few years ago. I did not realize some events were open to the trade only. Those that worked for or were registered with specific employers or fashion or interior design organizations. I went inside only to find a very rude and condescending woman at the front desk who refused to let me enter for an event I was registered to attend. I also found out that day that there are AmericasMart parking garages across the street. I have never parked in those garages. I later was able to finally walk around the Mart for the first time attending a different event and I had no problem entering and exiting the venue. I attended AmericasMart twice last year. One was a volunteering opportunity, the other was for a conference. The volunteering opportunity was taking place in one small area of the venue so it was easy to navigate. The conference was taking place in multiple areas of the Mart. It was very confusing at first because none of the staff I encountered could give me clear instructions on how to get to one of the buildings. There are multiple buildings that make up the Mart and depending on which way you enter or exit, it can be very confusing while walking around the area. The staff and security I encountered on my later visits to the Mart were very courteous. For large scale events, it would help if there were more signage or staff to direct attendees in the right direction. read more

This is a huge market with something for everyone. On the lower floors of building one and two you can find the juried sections and HD home with lots of novelties and new design companies. In higher levels you can find anything from antiques to high end furniture show rooms. The companies that show case here are amazing and the clientele ranges from interior designers and small stores to some of the largest retailers world wide. I definitely recommend starting up as a temporary if you have a good product and then make your way up to the permanent showrooms when you are ready. read more

So I've been coming down here for about 9 years maybe more. So for those of you that done know what goes on down here it's basically the place vendors come to and sell clothing, jewelry, etc to major retailers and mom/pop businesses. It's an amazing experience if your in this industry. It gets really crazy at the beginning and the end of these shows. People from across the nation come here and do business. At the end of the show there are some vendors that sell samples (cash only) but trust me when I say that you might be maybe one of two or three ppl with that item. See they're actually selling next season trends that haven't hit the mainstream market. but all in all it's a good place to be if you can get in and shop around. read more

This review is in the perspective of an exhibitor. My company has a showroom here and we set up twice a year for the Atlanta Home and Gift show. So far the experience has been good, their crew is diligent about picking up around the hallways and keeping up with maintenance before the show starts. The downside is that the elevators are super slow and tend to get congested so you're almost always waiting. The employees here are great. They are really good at greeting each and every person, every single time (even if there's 15 of us), whilst checking if they have badges. It was just kind of impressive. There is a Starbucks on the lower level (near Peachtree St) which gets pretty packed, if you want to avoid that Americas Mart also offers refreshments and baked goods in the mornings. read more

This review for AmericasMart Atlanta is the second in a six-part series covering the official host hotels and venues at Dragon Con. These reviews are written primarily from my perspective as a regular Dragon Con attendee over the better part of the last decade. AmericasMart is a huge wholesale trade center in downtown Atlanta. It consists of four separate buildings, connected via tubeways, totaling over seven million square feet in space. It's located next door to the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel, an official Dragon Con host hotel. Outside of the con, I've attended a jewelry and accessories trade show as well as Walker Stalker Con, a fan convention for the TV show The Walking Dead, at AmericasMart. The place is massive. During Dragon Con, AmericasMart Building 1 serves as the home of the dealers and exhibitors rooms. The dealers room used to be located in the Marriott on the Marquis Level. It wasn't until 2013 that the dealers and exhibitors rooms were moved to AmericasMart. It was a much welcome and needed change that was long overdue because these rooms were and still remain among the most consistently packed areas of the convention. As of 2014, two floors of Building 1 house the various dealer tables and exhibitor booths. The official Dragon Con store can be found on the 1st floor. You can purchase official Dragon Con merchandise at this store, but you cannot purchase memberships here. To purchase memberships, go to registration at the Sheraton located two blocks east and one block south. The dealer tables are located on the 2nd floor. The exhibitor booths are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. By my estimate, there are roughly 230+ vendors in total and the number is growing. If you're looking for a specific vendor, refer to the Dragon Con Pocket Program which can be picked up at registration or downloaded online from Dragon Con's web site or through the official Dragon Con mobile app. Some of my favorite vendors to visit each year are Stylin Online for geeky apparel and Yaya Han's table to see the Queen of Cosplay. I've also met Lloyd Kaufman, co-founder of Troma Entertainment and director of The Toxic Avenger, at his Troma booth. In person, he acts just like he does on TV. I do not recommend visiting AmericasMart when it first opens for Dragon Con. Most recently, it has opened at 1pm on Friday. If you go anywhere near that time, expect a line wrapped around the sidewalk and a slammed house inside with very little room to maneuver. If you go on Friday, late afternoon/early evening is your best bet. The big advantage to going on Friday is all the vendors will be fully stocked. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings are a good time to check out the dealers room when it's not too packed. If you enjoy hanging out at the con late at night like most people, that's easier said than done. In the past, the AmericasMart has opened at 10am on these days. Note the downtown parade also starts at 10am on Saturday morning. I personally like to visit AmericasMart at least once Friday-Sunday and then again on Monday when it's less crowded. In addition to finding cool and unique stuff to buy, AmericasMart is also a good place to see creative and high quality cosplays, and also buy food and drink to replenish energy. There's a Starbucks located inside the 1st floor (it faces Peachtree St.) along with a Domino's Pizza table and other various refreshment vendors. Wells Fargo customers can take advantage of the Wells Fargo bank and ATM located on-site. The 2nd floor of Building 1 conveniently connects to the Westin via enclosed sky bridge. Good parking for the convention can be found behind Building 1, across the street, on Spring St. In 2014, parking at this garage was a flat rate of only $10. This compares favorably to the more expensive $20-30 garages near Peachtree Center. The garage is part of AmericasMart. The entrance is located next to Haveli Indian Cuisine. Navigate to 225 Spring St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308 to find it. The garage connects directly to Building 1 via enclosed sky bridge. As the convention continues to grow, I wouldn't be surprised to see the dealers and exhibitors rooms grow to fill additional buildings of AmericasMart. In 2014, Building 1 was already slammed with tons of people all four days, even Monday (Labor Day). Walker Stalker Con is held exclusively at AmericasMart Building 2. The convention takes place on four floors of Building 2. The first two floors contain vendor and guest tables, the third floor is reserved for large panels, and the fourth floor is where professional photo-ops are taken. It's comparable to consolidating Dragon Con's dealers rooms with the Walk of Fame. Functionally speaking and traffic-wise, I think AmericasMart Building 2 is an ideal location for Walker Stalker Con and it has worked out well. read more

AmericasMart is a really cool space - it's not open to the public, unfortunately, but if you happen to be a wholesaler or retailer or in my case, a volunteer helper, you can check out this place. AmericasMart is huge and encompasses 2+ large buildings in downtown Atlanta. From the outside, the grey concrete buildings are unremarkable, but inside, once you get past the bottom floor, a whole other world exists with floor upon floor of spaces for vendors, sellers, retailers, etc. to display their wares, and if you ride up the glass enclosed elevator, you can see each and every floor, because the entire center inside is open so you can see each floor stacked one on top of another. The time I volunteered was during the Spring Gift, Home Furnishings and Holiday Market, and while I didn't have a ton of time to explore, I got to do some great people watching and see a sliver of the AmericasMart, which seemed to be housing every possible seller of every possible item in one place. And while I volunteered, I watched people being herded and directed in all directions by staff, security and other volunteers like myself. Great people watching - it seemed like anyone and everyone was floating around doing something or other. The whole thing was quite organized for such a large display show. I wish I was a retailer or someone who could go again next year to see more of the vendors and the goings on, it was really a cool thing to me. read more

Wow. Atlanta's Americasmart is quite large. There are three main buildings, with many floors, and it can be quite a challenge to figure out where you want or need to go. I highly recommend International Optics in Building 3, 7th floor. When you exit the elevator, walk to the left of the elevator bank and around towards the back. Ask for Jenya Royter. She is expert at finding great frames to fit your face. They have a fabulous selection, and they offer eye exams on Wednesdays from 11 AM - 2 PM. Otherwise, don't forget your eyeglass prescription! There are lots of shops for women, but the selection of menswear is limited. Like any of these places, negotiating skills are a plus, but you can find great deals even if you don't like to bargain. To save on parking fees, take MARTA to the Peachtree Center station, and follow the signs to the Mart. read more

Here's an update on America's Mart. I went again to check out the market on Friday. As a small business owner I go to purchase clothes from building 3 but came To check our the home and gifts market they had this month. I was a little hesitant at first due to covid, but I must say they did an awesome job following covid guidelines. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the showrooms at registration that take temperatures. Some showrooms are only taking customers by appointment to reduce crowds. YOU MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES. Social distancing is enforced and people are respecting each other's space. I was there for 5 hours. I really feel as though I have the hang of maneuvering the campus. I like to park in the garage for building 2 or 3 since I'm there most of the time. I use the garage elevators to access entrance to the building. There is great signage throughout the campus so you don't have to worry about getting lost Be sure to go to the America's mart site for parking options. Make a plan before you go as to what vendors you want to see. Be sure to eat !! It will be a day of lots of walking. read more

When we got off MARTA, it drops you near building 1 and we needed 2, so that was a little confusing. It could use more bathrooms per floor, but otherwise, it's an okay convention center. read more

I spent a couple of hours in here and felt that I would get sick from how cold it was inside. It got so cold to the point that I had to go to my car and grab a trench coat that I left in my trunk. I was here because Americasmart is where the vendors are located during Dragon*Con. The booths took up many rooms on different levels. They were spaced out enough that I didn't feel *too* cramped walking in the aisle, and I knew which merch belonged to which booth. Seemed organized and fairly clear about directions. read more

Sensory overload. There is so much merchandise here, I don't how the merchants can compete. I once heard that "When you have too many choices, you have none." Being that when you have so many things in front of you, you go crazy and end up with nothing. Overwhelmed. That is how I felt at AmericasMart when I went shopping with a friend. There was just so much stuff. But I did end up with a few items, for which I got at a discount. Two sun dresses for 10 bucks each....a jump on summer wear. A purple purse to match a pair of purple sandals, and a huge gold colored leather purse to paint on. Even so, there were many shops with overpriced items. It must be the overhead. I heard one merchant complaining about Internet competition and free shipping. And sadly enough, I look forward to my next trip. First it was the food that got me hooked on Atlanta, now it is the shopping. God help me. read more

This is a pretty large building. Or collection of buildings I should say. The AmericasMart is the world's largest concentration of buyers and vendors in one place at one time. People fly out from all over to attend this smorgasbord of free gifts and expensive house-hold items. Definitely a fun place to check out, but I can't say it's all fun in games since most people are "at work". Be sure to check out the temps towards the end of the show for some cash & carry goods to give as gifts. read more

Our business has had a very incredible market response but was setback by our recent participation in the " Spring Gift Show. They alleged to provide access to approx. 5,000. wholesale buyers representing shops, boutiques & retailers., but the experience was quite to the contrary. We are not new to the industry and were totally dissatisfied with the lack of effort by the marketing department to fulfill their obligation to provide the wholesale businesses with the opportunity to engage with wholesale buyers representing shops, boutiques & retailers. There was no effort to vet the buyers representing shops, boutiques & retailers. It became very clear the first day after seeing the crowd of tee shirt, sneaker, backpack and rolling carts and the lack of any interest in any of the wholesale exhibitor's products that the event was setup to be a flea market for the cash & carry vendors. I met with and discussed this situation with approx. thirty wholesale exhibitors during the weekend. All expressed enormous disappointment with the lack of appropriate quality wholesale buyers & dissatisfaction with the effort to provide sale opportunities. The pop corn exhibitor remarked that "she even couldn't give away popcorn to this crowd". Only one of the thirty exhibitors reported writing enough business to just cover his booth expenses form primarily old clients. Participating in this event required a great investment of time & resources by the exhibitors which was not valued or reciprocated. As Exhibitors, we have collectively relied on your commitment to our detriment. read more

Had the pleasure of vending at AmericasMart for one of their massive shows and it is truly something. The staff was very professional and helpful and very communicative. If you're a local artists/artisan or business it's certainly worth a dip if you're feeling some growth in your business or looking for another unique brand. Retailers big and small come from all parts of the country and all parts of the world to find new product for their stores. The event went over the course of a week. Food on-site was probably my only complaint and parking was set to full prices. A lot of my vending neighbors opted to take Marta in since they were local. The building had a food delivery service for vendors which was great and security on-site at all hours. There were also other food vendors who were frankly charging an arm and a leg for the most awful of lunch options. Not but a block away were far better options at way better prices. Something to keep in mind if you're frustrated with the on-site fare. Prices aside, the food just wasn't good. The on-site meal service for vendors was actually really great though and had some nice meal options. Aside from that it was an intense show. Floor after floor of businesses and retailers. Building and more buildings full of seasonal to very particular sections from museum wares to home decor, apparel, and beyond. A lot of the brands I saw were also some I was familiar with so it was really cool seeing their booths. It's a completely different world from the normal shows I go to. Great networking platform as well. They also have a category for emerging artists which is at a smaller rate and usually great for first timers to the wholesale arena. It was also really exciting to see what people brought to the show as most of the booth set ups were really impressive. Certainly hope to vend here again in the future. read more

Good god. I came here for a trade show in one of my previous occupations as a buyer for baby things and let me tell you.... this place was a straight up mess. It was CROWDED and SO BIG. I felt like I was going to pass out within the 4th hour of DAY ONE. And please note that I am a huge lover of the shopping mall and purchasing whatever it is I can get my hands on. But this my dear god was overwhelming even for someone like ME. The last reviewer Paige W. couldn't have said it better.... "Three buildings, 18 floors each. Each a maze of hallways, escalators and bridges to different floors of other buildings. If you're directionally challenged in the least, I suggest carrying a GPS unit or homing device, or leave a trail of crumbs if you're directionally AND technologically challenged." This place is overwhelming. Be careful. Vendors and sales persons galore, attacking you from all angles going straight for your wallet. By the end of the 3rd day at this trade show, I found a great little section where you could get extensive massages and THAT was great! Eventually, after getting sick of looking at baby stuff I explored the fashion center side and saw a couple great little shops that sold sample clothing from some of my favorite designers. So at the end of this very long and tiring adventure, I ended up treating myself to a mini shopping spree on super discounted and whole sale priced clothing. So yeah... although that part was fun. I went here to work for the Atlanta Home & Gift Show and it was my first time at AmericasMart. It was a wonderful event with a great location. I have never experienced something quite as extreme as this. Three buildings 12+ floors each of just everything you can ever imagine from christmas decorations, apparel, home decor, art, and more. Everyone that I interacted with were so friendly and everyone was excited to be there. It was very organized and clean as well. They served the staff food that was delicious and were very accommodating to all that was part of the show. The area of downtown Atlanta it is located in isn't the best but when you are at AmericasMart, that is what you are there for. If you stay over night, look outside the area that AmericasMart is located in for nicer hotels, better restaurants, and overall a better feel then the heart of downtown Atlanta. read more

I accompany my husband, who is a professional designer and architect, to these shows a couple of times a year. Big TIP that I never remember - bring a sweater - dress warmly. I don't care if it's 100 degrees with 100% humidity outside, inside it is a refrigerator. Appreciate the vendors who let me drape a decorative throw around my shoulders until I made my husband walk with me to Hard Rock (it was Sunday - nothing much open downtown) to buy a cute (but $42) sweatshirt. Definitely walking shoes - but you want to style it up - the place is full of the cool stylistas as well as small shop owners from around the country who dress up for the occasion. The high-end vendors are a delight - munchies & drinks offered gratis, gorgeous lighting, furnishings, bedding, linens and fun decorative pieces. The smaller vendors are more crammed together in small booths but don't skip by them, my husband always finds treasures and deals that help make a place gorgeous - but you have to have patience and look thoroughly. Parking is expensive during the Markets - $20 for a few blocks walk. We didn't check it out but there were about 10 food trucks & live music across the street from the building we visited (primarily furniture & lighting) that looked like it COULD be fun if it weren't so freakin' hot & humid. Instead go to the big vendors & act like a big spender (bring your professional business cards) and get some drinks and yummies after 3pm. read more

This was my first year as an exibitor at AmericasMart market. The facility is the biggest I've ever seen. Huge place with lots of showrooms and temporaries, this may be the flaw of this place. It's so tiring to just walk through one floor let along walking all 3 buildings and all 13 floors. The market days have light foot traffic and getting less and less each year. The concessions expensive and not very tasty. They do make an effort in bringing in a sushi joint to provide a better mix. They should really shorten the show since by the 4th day, it's like a ghost town in there. read more

In town for Dragon Con, all the staff at the rest of the con was awesome. However, the staff here at Amerimart are rude, curt, and angry individuals. Here is an idea for the management since your employees feel so overwhelmed- add more staff, better signage, and limit the number of people allowed inside in the busiest day of the con (Saturday). I will say that the layout, design of the vendor space was so much better then last year. The restrooms were clean each time I went in there. 2 stars for attitude- if we were locals I would never return. read more

This is a great place to shop if you are a shop owner. I have been coming here for over 10 years. The mart employees need customer service training. They are extremely rude. Expensive. The Apparel Mart merchandise is priced quite high. It's a nice facility. But, it is a little too high for me. I went there to buy many times. And, I ran into too many vendors and elevator operators who were argumentative. Don't get me wrong, some vendors were okay. The one jewelry vendor I liked best is no longer there. What really turned me off on this place was when I went on the elevators. These elevator operators would stand in front of the floor buttons and play games like children. They would block the buttons to try to make you go to the wrong floor. read more
